ALL: "Soapy" Podcast hosted by Rebecca Budig & Greg Rikaart
In Stephanie Sloane's April 6 newsletter, there's a paragraph in which Stephanie mentions that whilst interviewing Rebecca Budig and Sean Kanan for TVinsider about their B&B storyline -- Sloane had a short conversation with Rebecca Budig about "Soapy". https://soapsteph.beehiiv.com/p/welcome-ca4c Note: that link has lots of spoilers about all the soaps, so don't click if you want to remain spoilerfree. Quoting here the part relevant to "Soapy" . . . Quoting Sloane's newslettter: I also spoke to Rebecca Budig about Taylor and Deacon (Sean Kanan) sleeping together (!) on The Bold and the Beautiful. During our chat, I asked her about Soapy, the podcast she hosts with Greg Rikaart (Leo, Days). As someone who previously cohosted a podcast with Soap Opera Digest’s Mara Levinsky (Dishing with Digest, RIP), I know how much goes into it behind the scenes — and Rebecca is enjoying taking deep dives with soap faves. “It’s been really fun to put a spotlight on these people that we all work with in daytime and to lift them up and celebrate them,” Rebecca told me. “It’s hard. I do a lot of homework and it's a lot of work. I've done hosting before, so I knew that ahead of time but it's all worth it; it's good.” End quote.

Christel interview (somewhat spoilerish, so don't click if you wish to remain spoiler-free.) link to Christel SOD interview I'll just quote an interesting nonspoiler excerpt here: Quote from SOD: Many viewers had seen on-screen sparks between Khalil and Owens and assumed Y&R was setting them up for a love story — and Khalil confirms that the show did originally intend to pair the two characters. “That was actually going to happen,” she nods. “They were going to play the story that we were going to have a little love match before my maternity leave, actually. We were gonna do this whole little side storyline — and then that’s when Josh [Griffith, executive producer/head writer] got the idea of, like, ‘Oh, my God, they should be siblings!’ And then they were like, ‘Wait, wait, wait — did we ever have them kiss?’ And then they were like, ‘Oh, no. Thank God! We didn’t have them kiss!’ So, they ended up making us siblings, which I think is way more interesting.” End quote.

I want to know if Nathan Jr. (Nate) is having scenes with Malcolm. Malcolm was his stepdad who raised him. I mean who all know who they are to each other, but has Y&R acknowledged it yet? (I'm behind on following this).

Maybe it was entirely MVJ's idea for JL's character to be a mobster. But I cannot help wondering if JL suggested it, as he seems to be really into mobster stories with his novels. Yeah I admit that's a stretch, but still I wonder.

fyi, in case anyone missed it, during its war with Iran, Israel took the opportunity to annex part of Lebanon. -------- Reuters has a daily report on deaths from all countries involved, specifying "this is what was reported to us" and whether it was verifiable. This Reuters article, started March 3, has been EDITED and UPDATED daily to included the latest casualties. You'll need to refresh it regularly to get the latest updates. This includes all countries in USA, Europe, and Middle East who have been impacted by the wars between Israel/Lebanon, Israel/Iran, and USA/Iran, including ships at sea, and including Palestinian areas that inadvertently received shelling by fragments exploding in air. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/how-many-people-have-been-killed-us-israel-war-iran-2026-04-07/ (NOTE: That article's casualty totals don't include the ongoing intentional attacks on Gaza and West Bank by the Israelis that are outside the scope of Israel's wars with Iran and Hezbollah/Lebanon.) It also doesn't include war protesters in Pakistan who were killed/injured by local and US personnel.

There has been a serious lack of investigative journalism. Most of the so-called "news" from the Tr*mp administration is done like this: He phones a news outlet and gives them a statement. Then the news outlet reports it as "news" about what's happening. I continue to rely on Reuters, who specifies within each article how they got their info -- and whether they were able to verify it or not.

7 April 2026: Statement by Pope Leo XIV Pope: The threat against the entire Iranian people is unacceptable Addressing journalists, Pope Leo XIV asks "all people of goodwill to always search for peace and to reject war," calls for a return to the negotiating table to pursue peaceful solutions, and notes that attacks on civilian infrastructure are against international law. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2026-04/pope-leo-xiv-appeal-to-journalists-castel-gandolfo-7-april-2026.html Against the backdrop of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran and the U.S. President's threat to destroy "the whole Iranian civilisation" on Tuesday night if Tehran does not comply with a deadline set by the White House to reach a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the Pope said he wished simply to say, once again, what he had said in his Urbi et Orbi message on Sunday, "asking all people of goodwill to always search for peace and not violence, to reject war—especially a war which many people have said is unjust, which is continuing to escalate and which is not resolving anything." Speaking in Italian, he said, “Today, as we all know, there has also been this threat against the entire people of Iran. And this is truly unacceptable! There are certainly issues of international law here, but even more, it is a moral question concerning the good of the people as a whole, in its entirety.” The Pope did not neglect to shine the light on the wide-reaching consequences of the conflict and said, "We have a worldwide economic crisis, an energy crisis, and a situation in the Middle East of great instability, which is only provoking more hatred throughout the world." Thus, Pope Leo urged, "Come back to the table. Let's talk. Let's look for solutions in a peaceful way." The Pope went on to remember all those who are being unfairly harmed in the conflict. "Let's remember, especially, the innocent: children, the elderly, the sick, so many people who have already become, or will become, victims of this continued warfare—and to remind all that attacks on civilian infrastructure are against international law, and that they are also a sign of the hatred, division, and destruction that the human being is capable of." The Pope reiterated that "we all want to work for peace. People want peace," as he called on all people to do their part. "I would invite the citizens of all the countries involved," Pope Leo concluded, "to contact the authorities—political leaders, congressmen—to ask them, to tell them, to work for peace and to reject war and violence. Thank you very much."
