  1. Oh God, I recall Logan.
  2. He's an amiable and charming presence, but plopping him in with all the youngsters is just odd. To say nothing of his name.
  3. Her most memorable moment was a brief dance interlude with RSW at the LPD, IIRC.
  4. Finola always projected authority IMO, which helped. I do find it funny watching these old eps with Buzz Stryker and everyone being super into him, and he leaves absolutely no trace today. I like the actor but it's an odd fit.
  5. Did she? I always wondered if it was just AMC/Frons trying to find a way to get her to play a 'sexier,' older role than Lily. (IIRC Ava was older.)
  6. They were, very much so in print interviews. Of course Mo and Nancy both did the same in the mags in 2001-02, pushing for Sonny and Alexis to get together (Maurice literally pointed to Nancy or something in an interview and told the writer 'this is who Sonny should be with') and we know how that turned out. They were tight back then. Meanwhile, the clash over the mixed marrieds and not doing Jaxis was key to the Guza/Riche conflict in this period. I remember Barbara Niven @DRW50 . I also recall some fans at the time unwisely got behind her because she was very communicative online with fandom. I found Liz intolerable. My last memory of her was their seemingly chemistry testing her with Max in either late January or very early February or March '03, right after Malone and Griffith had returned. But thankfully they dumped her pretty much immediately. I had a fondness for poor Susan Misner, not unlike Tava Smiley. Grace was just a futile role.
  7. I didn't know that. I liked poor Nadine.
  8. IIRC the story went that Guza liked V (who I think he inherited from Culliton) and wanted to put her with Jax. Riche didn't want it (I think?) so the compromise was they gave V a HEA exit with a new love. Carlos on AMC is one of the worst actors/characters I have ever seen. Speaking of Culliton though, dumping Sam Page and Trey was a waste.
  9. Oh lord, Tina. So random. And you're thinking of Boyd! God, I'd forgotten him too.
  10. The fans were intense at that time, and I could swear we heard that both Drake and Deidre were drumming up stuff for/against John/Kate at the time at separate fan events. Although that could've been made up by said fans. Knowing what we do about Dee I assume that's why it got memory-holed lol.
  11. No, that was definitely convenience IMO. They were using Drew as a transparent seatfiller and nothing more.
  12. I was digging back into the early GH '78 stuff. Do we know when Mark Dante and Katie Corbin left the first time (I assume they wed after old Lamont passed)? What about Gina and Gary Lansing? I wonder how quickly Monty broomed all these people out. I know Gina was still there in November IIRC, or I may be wrong. I wonder who else they shoved out the door quick.
  13. I can believe it. Linda took her husband's death very hard. Any time I've heard her quoted since she always mentions 'my Frank.' Gets me in the heart.
  14. He's dreadful. But a lot of the elements of this story are random and tedious. If they're hoping for Evil Nathan to shore up the menace Ryan Paevey will need to have had a Brando-esque turnaround as an actor in the last 7 years.
  15. I did love Gio and Emma being so game to help Tracy this week. You could see Emma was onboard even more quickly than Gio with a little breaking and entering, which is how her character should continue to be played - with an edge, like the young Brenda. I would be much more inclined to see her get into business or additional various schemes vs. settling for some boring vet job. That relationship with Tracy was rare to see in the youth set 20 years ago (or even 10), where Guza, etc. still used to have the kids and 'cool' characters groan and grouse about the Qs all the time. Lulu built a close relationship with Tracy of course, but there were still all sorts of issues with the treatment of the family. Having them build on the rapport between Jane and Mazza that began with those incredible reveal scenes last spring has been a smart move.
  16. I didn't care about Coop, but I did like that end of the canvas at the time. I think part of the predictable issue was that it was not mob-centric enough for Guza's team or Frons or whoever. So Johnny Zacchara comes in and everything changes. I liked Johnny and the gothic elements of the Zaccharas, but it was also more of the same direction.
  17. They do play it too safe with him, and I agree about the double standard re: Eva. He needs to develop more of a visible edge as opposed to them just talking about it. He and Eva could have more heat, but they have kept the kid gloves on with both of them.
  18. Only BTG hiring more white ex-twinks will get their full attention.
  19. Finally, solidarity.
  20. Catherine O'Hara was another of those ubiquitous lifeforces you just took for granted. I thought she'd never die. Certainly not now.
  21. I wouldn't go that far! In his heyday DC was only slightly less wooden than the at least adorable James. The terrible story they gave him in '05 with his imaginary friend Jodie proved his limitations lol. As he grew he gained a sliver of ability just before being dropped from the show (around the time Leticia died), but he was still never going to be the second coming of Kimberly McCullough the Guza regime tried for a time to will him into being. Of course FV now tries to do that with 3-5 kids a decade, so here we are.
  22. tbh the scene with Dylan Cash's Michael after Leticia died is the only standout scene where I could tolerate him. He gave an actual performance, raging at Sonny to make someone pay. I was glad to see the back of that little goblin but I never forgot that moment.
  23. Eva, Kat and Izaiah getting mixed up together in the modeling scene is the way to go. It's moments like this I really miss Kamar de los Reyes, who'd do well playing the fearsome father or older brother to Tomas (who can get chucked into the dumpster at any time).
