  1. And yet true! But whatever I think of his rough appearance onscreen, it's far less about that than the fact that the character remains scum who I wouldn't wish on any of the veteran women. Frank Valentini can stop playing swap meet with random recurring players to give all the olds peppy and cheap love interests any time. LMAOOOOOO. I'm glad we're all taking that big red note at the top of the forum to heart!
  2. Ezra is scum and DC has never looked worse. I have absolutely no interest in seeing Laura demeaned like that.
  3. How about we let each long time viewer speak for themselves. I don't agree that Van is bad in the role. He's different, but he's good.
  4. I always liked AJ. She's deserved better from B&B and GH.
  5. At least the Martin/Tracy budget pairing seems to be on hold again with MEK gone. I was mortified that Frank was finally going to pursue it with their scenes in February. Knowing FV he'll pick it back up again in 6-9 months but I am hoping it's gone for good. SPOILER Truthfully the original Kevin/Laura pairing was just the same. It made no sense for them to get together. But Genie had (allegedly) come back asking for a real love interest, and FV clearly figured hey, Jon Lindstrom's here and not on contract! We've had many such cases since, in the words of our undead POTUS.
  6. There is absolutely no call for ever putting Laura with Corrupt Barbara Bush. I don't care how much Frank likes Dan Cosgrove. I can see them toying with it a little too.
  7. Vincent was an idiot tbh. Played by a guy who by all accounts did not work hard. They tried to use him to replace R.J. but R.J. was one of a kind and Tim Stickney dissed Tobias Truvillion years later. But yes, Shemar on Y&R came off tougher than Izaiah does.
  8. Jordan's only prognosis needs to be leaving the show. The character has never had much personality and Harper has less.
  9. If it's for keeping Brad out of Lucas' life i'm for it, but Marco was very hot. RIP.
  10. I don't really care what some viewers elsewhere want or don't want. I do think they should've done a real triangle with the sisters and a viable man already. Tomas is not it, and the Eva/Izaiah relationship has been written terribly bland despite the heat between two attractive actors. Izaiah was supposed to be the roughneck Hawthorne brother and he is written like Archie Andrews. Playing with the Kat option is a no-brainer to me even if it isn't the final story path. Or bring on some other dude. Something has to make Eva and Izaiah heat up at least. The Kat/Eva fandoms online are a classic soap fanbase scuffle where the fanbases are partly populated by new people who legitimately don't know how daytime soaps work. Keeping the sisters in a love/hate relationship is gold for the show. The problem is it hasn't been properly utilized onscreen in awhile. Izaiah should've gone to work around Kat long ago or with Dani at the agency as was hinted at, and Eva and Kat should've been thrown together in a work environment. These are fundamentals which can pay out for years to come.
  11. This reminds me there's not enough Andre rn.
  12. I'll just repost what I said in the monthly thread:
  13. Thrilled for the show. BTG has major issues and needs major changes, but I am just happy for the return of the medium at large and for MVJ, and the characters, actors, and stories with potential that do work on the show. Also very happy for Black visibility on daytime, which was at almost a nadir before now. It's barely a year old and most newer soaps had a lot to change in that time, but I believe it can grow. I'm very happy it now has the time.
  14. Hell yeah. Wonderful news, flaws and all.
  15. Best guess is that it's from the Killing Club Murders story in 2005. They did the Music Box Killer in 2004 but I think I'd remember that location shoot. OTOH maybe Dena Higley slaughtered more people in 2006-07, I watched even less of those years while she was in charge.
  16. There's a number of them on YT, IIRC.
  17. Would she object to that vs. sexual material? Either way, if she's going to dictate that far she's gotta go.
  18. Yeah, I'll believe BLQ did this when it's been 6-9 months and we haven't revealed another culprit. GH loves to do that, and no way Uncle Frank lets her get that dirty even though it would make for great story. It's the kind of casual social mishap (one glass too many) that goes horribly wrong on classic soap. I'd have BLQ end up an alcoholic or pill addict like Alan too, on the heels of this, a cover-up courtesy of Tracy (who ran down Jenny Eckert), losing the baby and then Willow/Chase. It'd all be great story. I think it'd get Setton an Emmy. She can play it. But FV doesn't want that kind of story for her. He wants her to be the sainted heroine in shawls.
  19. Pretty sure there's some in this very same Paley Center episode, which they've likely been pulling those brief Carla/Sadie color clips from on SN over the last couple decades. (Ellen Holly and Lillian Hayman are in the credits on the Paley site for this specific episode with the other cast in this clip.) We just don't have the rest of this ep here. I always got the sense Gillian Spencer's character on GL (from what I saw of her in Agnes' era anyway) was a neurotic, deeply damaged woman who had some really dark story by those years. Viki was troubled obviously but more of a heroine. But maybe I just didn't get a full picture of the earlier story on GL.
  20. Asher is still very green. He has charisma and can continue to grow so I wouldn't dump him but yeah, he can't handle this and it's a laughable story on its face; he's just a well-cared for baby. Danny definitely should be a spoiled rebel acting out, but presenting the idea of him going into the mob as a real plot point is silly. Even angelic Chad had more darkness seething in his very early days than Danny, in order to make that potential turn for Michael plausible after prison. (Hudson West has proven both on the show and in his other work that could handle traumatized undead Jake getting into real trouble, but I digress.)
  21. Naomi and Jacob are often boring period. Which is why I would've had (and still might have!) her and Izaiah have a torrid affair, which would be a precursor to something with Jacob and Kat, and/or Izaiah eventually settling into a more interesting long-term pairing with either Eva or Kat. Naomi with her husband's outlaw brother would be a drama engine, not an endgame pairing. And what Eva and Izaiah have going right now is more bland than it needs to be for those two.
  22. That would have been wonderful, and very important.
  23. I am caught up but lol Jacob texting Smitty shít like "u close?" sends an interesting message.
