  1. Stop posting anonymous rumors on this board.
  2. If you're quoting anonymous rumors over and over, we don't do that here. So stop.
  3. I'm good with threads.
  4. I don't think they're actually going there. I think it's probably a one-off scene or two. You'll see a handful of people on Twitter begging for them to make this boring couple happen. But I don't think it will. I think they have no idea what they're doing with Dante, other than they don't want to put him back with Lulu for whatever reason. And I think a big part of that is the show just does not want to deal with their being a popular preexisting couple or having to showcase either of them vs. other priorities. I don't think either actor is preventing it.
  5. Random testing does not make a storyline or an actual romance. I see no reason to go there with Elizabeth and Dante. It's two nice people the show has little interest in together. Who cares.
  6. I'm of two minds. I'm very glad they're handling it in story (though I would make it a major arc for Laura going fwd leading to the end of her marriage and a new love interest), but I also hope they show those talking-head cast interviews.
  7. We're not doing that. He does not want to put together a popular modern couple pre-dating him IMO, and also doesn't seem to particularly want to use Lulu for anything substantive (the story with Zombie Nathan will have her end a loser no matter what).
  8. All I'll speak to here is BTG. Given the very circumspect way MVJ has talked about the recast and talked about the necessity of making a change followed by Maurice Johnson's less than politically correct comments re: LGBT issues in a later interview, I think it was a personality conflict BTS. As for Guza and Ron Carlivati, IIRC MVJ has said they came in as a favor to her for the first year/early months to help get it off the ground (Guza as co-HW and RC I think on breakdowns) and were always set to leave. And yes, Andre and Dani marrying and becoming a serious relationship was also a change of plans per Karla Mosley's interviews. They appear to have blessedly abandoned their planned Andre/Ashley endgame in its entirety.
  9. So many legends in the last few days, from Duvall to Reverend Jackson. And now the great Tom Noonan, another screen presence I thought was immortal. Wonderful in so many things, but I know him best as the Red Dragon in Michael Mann's Manhunter (adapted from Thomas Harris' Red Dragon).
  10. Luke the rapist was mayor. Alexis taking the seat is as good an option as any. But I am for Willow trying to take it.
  11. IIRC Vivica stayed friends with MVJ since Generations, and was the one who put her in touch with Sheila Ducksworth re: creating BTG.
  12. They were clearly under pressure to cast a hotter, hunkier Lucky and it was a huge mistake. He was terrible in the role and should never come back. I thought Faison had a lot of menace early in his '99 stint, but it got silly pretty quickly. The Felicia angle was awful, and Laura not being involved for whatever BTS reason.
  13. Yeah, we tried to puzzle this out a few years ago. According to Racina's interviews he was also part of the writing team and I think possibly one of the co-HWs from summer '80 (he claims he was there in time for the famous Wyndham's Department Store sequence) til either late '83 or '84. I can't remember which. What we surmised based on his statements is Monty kept his exact role (as well as I think Leah Laiman's) relatively quiet due to the strike in the early '80s. IIRC Racina said the Ice Princess saga came direct from his own sci-fi/thriller novel "The Great Los Angeles Blizzard". But the original "Ice Princess" concept before that, whatever it was, was Pat Falken Smith. Monty took Racina on as a HW and dumped her in part because PFS would not tell her what the purpose of the Ice Princess was before the strike.
  14. I think that could've been much more successful. It is wild to consider Lucy could've been a JER creation. Was Pat Falken Smith not back at this time as well?
  15. Oh, for sure. Which I think is part of why the Black canvas is so incestuous and bland, but then most of the canvas sans Drew, Willow and Michael is. (Well, the incest part is still there) There were also a fair amount of fans pissed when Emma returned much edgier and wild shortly before this time last year. I was all for it - you cannot improve on what Kimberly McCullough did with Robin, so it makes no sense for her daughter to be a carbon copy. I'd always wanted Emma to return a troublemaker. They've quieted her down a bit, but Bruner still has real talent and spikiness and it makes sense for Emma to continue to be in that young Brenda mold: A good heart, but ambitious, brash and at times a hellraiser who makes huge mistakes and does bad things. That kind of pushback is not just the province of FB fans; some just have an image in their head of who this child or that one should be, though I disagree with it. But it's the audience FV cultivates that seems to just want non-soap non-conflict couples at times, and certainly nothing edgier from the characters of color. Or at least, that's what Frank thinks they all want.
  16. I would bring Tommy Jr. back tomorrow, but he'd need to be a lot more of a pistol than either Curtis or Isaiah. You'd need someone more in the early Patrick mold.
  17. Newcomer Anna had a rough road having to carry this Laurelton mess just after Robert took off. I guess the Asian Quarter saga was that popular! Watching the late '70s and early '80s in rapid succession lately though, it feels like Bobbie is aged up so fast by the show. She goes from the scheming vixen (and Bobbie in her heyday was as merciless as classic Carly if not moreso, woof) to still a young, vibrant and easygoing lover with Noah upon her return in late '82/early '83, to just a couple years later in '86 where she's wearing drab sweaters and perpetually clucking over Terry Brock who can't be much older than her, trying to adopt as many kids as possible.
  18. In memory of Tristan Rogers: Luke remembers Robert on the anniversary of his 'death.'
  19. I'd rather chew glass than watch that.
  20. That has always been their intention.
  21. Sarah has always been blunt as hell lol. God bless.
  22. Carlivati was fired in summer '15. Passanante and co. took over in late summer-early fall IIRC, and the first order of business from the network was to wrap up the endlessly prolonged Robin saga (in which RC circa 2012 had faked Robin's death after Kimberly McCullough chose to quit during the Garin Wolf mess, then had her rescued in '13 and immediately had her forced back into captivity again in early 2014) due to fan outrage. Patrick saved Robin in late '15 and they left Port Charles with Emma very early in 2016 IIRC. Not long after JT joined Y&R. Anyway, we're far afield.
  23. Oh, he looked mortified. Once they got to the 2013 Nurses Ball where she 'transformed' into a plasticine princess and he was supposed to be enraptured by her, JT looked both baffled and lost in a fog for much of the remainder of his run. He enjoyed working with Kelly Monaco later by his own account, but the story was still bad because under Carlivati normal male characters are mostly clueless dupes for scheming vixens or eye candy. Only the 'edgy' guys or villains get a POV. So Patrick, Dante, etc. all lost most of their personalities and nuance from the Guza years and simply because slackjawed sperm banks. I know JT came to Y&R full of vim and vigor and apparently enjoyed working with Gina Tognoni, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's lost the passion there after years of playing Podcaster Billy, DID Billy, etc.
  24. I haven't looked in much in awhile but I cannot imagine JT (who has aged a lot) looked more suicidal on-camera than he did on GH during the FV/Carlivati regime. After coming on during an era of strong scripts with some layered male POV (however misogynistic and mob-centric during Guza II), from 2012-2016 he looked like was experiencing slow cellular death everyday. Dominic Zamprogna clearly struggled in the 2010s too before briefly leaving.
