  1. I miss the same, though my earliest childhood experience was with Finola in many other things. She always had that steel and it translated to Anna at her best.
  2. Leslie and Joey is only a matter of time and I'm here for it.
  3. Yeah, you guys pretty much summed up why OLTL was always my show. I had never seen someone as raw as Susan Haskell's Marty on soaps when I started watching and still rarely have since. As a troubled tween it certainly spoke to me. Obviously that era was not the same as the '70s or early '80s (which I've loved when I've gotten to see it, with those characters and that tone you've mentioned), but I think the throughline persisted - even to the end.
  4. Gio shirtless in sweats again today. You win this round, Frank.
  5. Thanks, I needed that to haunt my dreams.
  6. @DRW50 Kyle MacLachlan did an AMA for Twin Peaks Day, in addition to plugging his memoir.
  7. Oh, thanks. The show is such a hoot.
  8. For all my issues with FV's preferences, I will always be grateful for how he has handled sendoffs and tributes to GH's vets, starting with John Ingle. The story his family shared about that day of taping - Ingle's last request, to act on the show one more time - will always stay with me. IIRC he was wheeled in or out with a line of well-wishers with the cast and crew applauding and talking to him.
  9. I think Lewis and Ingle are different but both strong and complimentary. There's definitely things I can see one doing and not the other and I've come to really discover and more fully appreciate David Lewis' work in recent years, though I still adore Ingle. But Lewis had such a razor edge for certain things. I do think John had the capacity to do more Lewis-type material, particularly in as you said the Justus story where he imperiously engineered the cover-up. John was very good there. But it's apples and oranges.
  10. Mo discusses Sonny and Turner. Oy.
  11. Lisanti is off about Martin and Smitty IMO, they've been pretty intimate/demonstrative after the first few months, including a couple hot and heavy love scenes. And I adore Kat of course.
  12. Reigning scream queen Brittany Allen (Marissa, AMC), fellow Pine Valley alum Eric Nelsen (A.J., AMC 2.0) and Corbin Bernsen (Y&R/GH) are in The Yeti.
  13. Tom Pelphrey (GL) and Courtney Hope (Y&R/B&B) are both doing voice work for a faith-based podcast about the life of Christ, who Pelphrey voices. It also features David Oyelowo and Paul Walter Hauser. How they're getting big talent like that (including Pelphrey) these days is beyond me, but a lot of stars do faith-based movies for a buck lately. Patricia Heaton is also naturally there.
  14. I don't remember the damn googly eyes. It looks like a Nickelodeon kids' show set!
  15. I was satisfied with the Kial/Nicole love scene. Carlton OTOH increasingly resembles Doctor Doom.
  16. What's with the big googly eyes? Is this Chuck E. Cheese?
  17. I honestly wonder if Frank just really wanted Paevey back (on top of them already resurrecting Britt which necessitated Obrecht, another longtime fave) and didn't know Kirsten was gonna go AWOL again. Even then, Spixie was always more popular.
  18. I did not know the Lucy reveal was that fast. I thought she was on for a month or two beforehand.
  19. I would've rather they did it in February but I'm not going to balk much at keeping it in check til May.
  20. I personally don't think Joss and Gio was seriously played with in the past. There were a couple scenes you could potentially read into when Gio moved in with the girls but it wasn't hinting at the two of them at all. I'll reserve judgment til I see today's episode, but if they go there now it's because FV know everything else they've done with her has flopped and she's out of chances. I also wouldn't be surprised if Eden is quitting at this point tbqh. GH also knows Emma and Gio are popular, so I can't see them totally derailing that couple. So I am not going to freak out yet. They certainly don't have the built-in racist excuse they did re: Sprina where they were clearly infatuated with Avery Pohl and hoping to re-cement her as a 'reformed' Esme.
  21. The entire Nathan story has been pointless from the jump to me since he was never more than an oiled-up cipher Frank and Ron Carlivati got horny over. I am glad Maxie chose Spinelli, as I suspected she might.
  22. Pleased to hear the cotillion story
  23. Special Bulletin mentioned!!!! Anyway, yes she's amazing in it. And it's on YT.
  24. I'm so glad that didn't go ahead. Some of Rachel Ames' last big scenes were telling Elizabeth in '98 about Tom Baldwin raping her, and she was just incredible in that material. I'm perturbed she didn't get a more full sendoff - I assume she's not able now as she's nearly 100. I think Audrey's last (largely voice) appearance was writing Liz a letter about marrying Franco, IIRC of all things. But still, they did a lovely tribute to her in 2013 for the 50th, when Audrey visited the GH hub and blessed the new memorial or something. The entire cast and extras broke into applause mid-scene after she said her lines, and judging by the look on Ames' face I am fairly convinced she didn't know it was coming. I do appreciate Frank Valentini for that, and for what he did for John Ingle's last request among others.
