DAYS: January 2026 Discussion Thread
Yes. I thought Agnes and Broderick had something to do with some of that too, or maybe it was just what they inherited near the end. I thought Tom Pelphrey's brief character on ATWT had the James Stenbeck microchip in his head. Or who knows, maybe both he and Paul did. I barely watched any of the show by that point. So bad.

A woman. I agree Alexis has been seriously damaged by a lot of embarrassing shít. Julian included lol. But I think she's had an upswing of late which is decent. Would I put her in an A-tier romance at this point? No. Can she still move heavy drama (like right now) and get a decent new partner? Sure. As for Gregory: I thought the final weeks with the wistful, melancholy material Mulcahey did with the wedding, his death, Finn discovering him, etc. had some lovely stuff. But I never particularly liked the guy before that. Every time I tuned in for like 3 years he was standing around looking like George Washington and shaming Tracy or Alexis, and had little other personality. If he'd had some maybe I'd have felt different. I do credit PM and Harrison, Jane, even Easton, etc. for some solid material in that final stretch.

Hell of a day for this old fool to preempt! And yes, I think it's real too. At least part of this is on Finola for me. As I've said before, I think she came back in 2012 with Anna understandably reeling re: Robin and then Faison/Duke. But since then she has spent most of the rest of her tenure with Anna entirely too emotional about the wrong things, or about people Finola is tight with offscreen (Sonny, etc). I think she feels it shows her range and prevents Anna from being an '80s cartoon supercop, but she has nothing left to prove as an actor. I don't want or need Anna constantly on the verge of tears over everything from shooting Carlos Rivera (a hitman who she took down like so many others from the Cold War), to cutting social ties with Sonny to Valentin's latest scheme or kissing Jason in Africa. It's become rote and tiresome for Anna to burst into tears and I am behind over it. She needs more steel again.

Oh God, I forgot that part. I do still suspect the rumors about Ron and Frank wanting to resurrect Lily as a vengeful villain in '13 were correct. The Lily mentions were fast and furious with Juan, Carlos (also related to her) and Sabrina in that period. And Lilly Melgar was close to the show again at the time IIRC. Small favors it did not happen.

I love Anders Hove but Faison should've been Dead dead after 2013. There is no universe in which I believe Robert and Anna would have let him live after what he did to Robin, let alone what he'd already done to them over the years. The Scorpios are trained professionals. They would've finished him then. I am certain Faison is still dead, but I just don't care about this storyline populated largely by dayplayers or deeply annoying or boring characters (Britt, Valentin, Brad, Nathan, etc). It eats half the show and bores me to tears.

But it is true that BLQ and the Quartermaines emasculate Chase (in his mind). Willow doesn't. He knows she's checked out on having a family now that she has a son, so he in turn checked out the moment they found Gio and began to fixate more on Willow. If they would play the beat of Brook Lynn focusing on the business more (and actually doing it well as opposed to just shaming Lucy) that would also tie into the parallels re: Ned and Tracy. When either BLQ's father or grandmother lock in they are still sharks; Wally has always had that colder, power-hungry side he can bring out, which is part of how Ned and Lois' marriage ended. IMO Chase also misses the days when he used to constantly judge Brook Lynn and shame her for doing shít before they got officially together/married, and back when BLQ used to have actual cockeyed schemes on this show as opposed to being a saintly matriarch in training. Like, he used to lecture and harangue her every week for so much as putting in a good word for him. It was nauseating to watch a few years back and he clearly got off on it. She should bring it up.

No way. She should keep spinning out, rain hell down for a few years to come and go out like Susan Moore. I do agree with @DRW50 on why both men want her. If it was up to me though I also would include the note (as I've mentioned too much before) that the younger Willow is kind of a bizarre reflection for Drew subconsciously of his youthful love, Kim Nero (Tamara Braun), the woman he loved and lost who later had his now-dead son before he went off to war and then lost all semblance of his own life.
