  1. I don't have any issue with Anastasia being OTT. I just don't think the actress is very good lol. Nor do I have an issue with Mona's faith. I think it makes sense to have a character represent the people with more overt ties to the church. I don't think she's a fanatic. They'd have to do a lot to clean up Randy if they intend to make him continue with her, though.
  2. Vaguely related, I'll just seeing Michael Nouri's elderly ass on The Pitt this season was not on my 2026 bingo card. Props to him for no vanity.
  3. Which is one reason they allegedly had planned a multi-year time jump shortly after Cooper was retrieved from the Black Lodge in the original Season 3, to dispense with pretending the twentysomethings were high schoolers. I wonder if any of that is addressed in the book.
  4. Van's Lucas looked like the girl from The Ring was coming out of his TV during those hysterical scenes with Marco last week. What a fun, camp recast.
  5. Yep. A lot of these feel vaguely at gunpoint to me lol. And yeah, I often feel Mo is barely aware of what anyone else is saying on this show and just waiting to talk again. But for the most part I think he is old and harmless these days. And some guests clearly do value the uh, experience.
  6. I remember Dana and Sherilyn being vocally baffled by the Bobby/Audrey thing in many interviews in later years. I personally thought they had chemistry, but what do I know. I do think Bobby and Shelly being put back together in the end was likely a Lynch/Frost choice. For a time I wondered if the whole Little Nicky tortured origin thing could lead to a more serious parallel towards Laura's abusive home and childhood abuse. That might've been nice, to see a comic plotline take a turn. But it got so stupid. The kid wasn't bad, and I always loved Ian Buchanan no matter how dumb the story. I wish he'd appeared in Season 3. I will have to get the book - some of the lore (like the Albert spinoff, and the Peyton concept for an episode set in just one Double R booth) is new to me.
  7. I remember these promos around Megan's death. Max's is great too. I can't remember how many of them there were.
  8. Vivica A. Fox (Generations, soon-to-return-to Y&R) is like you've never seen her before in the upcoming Amazon film Is God Is, with Erika Alexander, Sterling K. Brown and many more. Glad to see Vivica getting better work lately, and Erika's career resurgence continues. (I'll tag @DRW50 and @Khan since I think they always like to see Erika Alexander.)
  9. I'll say it. I have thought Anastasia was bad from Day 1. I am glad they are making use of these characters for conflict re: the cotillion which works, but I would not hate a recast of that role or Chessy. This is not the first time mid or bad minor players hired locally outside the soap world has bit this show. I'm not saying they should stop hiring local, but a few soap vets really could help. That goes for Sharon too BTW, who I go back and forth on.
  10. Yeah, KT has been immature since her Bryan Craig years. She's always been like this. I have no patience for her offscreen and barely much more on, since she's always been a mediocre dramatic actress. Britt has no prospects long-term on this show without Jason (not that I thought much of them together to begin with) so I think she's dunzo in the next year. Two on the outside if FV keeps trying.
  11. I have a lot more fondness for the late Season 2 stories than a lot of the cast and crew do lol. Including some of Civil War Ben, Mike and Nadine and Bobby and Audrey. I think it was Peyton who once told me flat out years on Reddit that the Evelyn story was a direct lift from Otto Preminger's classic noir Angel Face with Robert Mitchum and Jean Simmons when I clocked it. Pretty much the exact same plot. Good movie. I think some of that stuff worked on paper but it was poorly done and miscast, and I don't think James Marshall could handle it. His best work was the more elemental stuff Lynch did with him. I knew most of this stuff but I may check out the new book. I remember some other insane ideas Peyton and Engels (who were very talented and wrote a lot of the original series, they just weren't Lynch and Frost) knocked around for the original Season 3, like keeping Windom Earle and Ted Raimi's character as like, a revenant and his undead henchman somehow. No. This AMA is interesting with the author. I definitely didn't know this.
  12. Good point. I'll nuke it and use the (paywalled) Vulture link.
  13. @DRW50 This Vulture excerpt from a new book has a lot of gossip I already knew re: Season 2, but there's a couple new tidbits worth reading (or for others who didn't know). IIRC the scene Lynch wanted dropped in last minute overnight and chewed Harley Peyton out over involved a long, technical opening sequence he thought up involving Catherine Martell. It obviously didn't get filmed but there's never been more detail and I've always wondered about that.
  14. Come to think of it, the big scene with Terry naked on the street does scream JER. It's his kind of dark, psychosexual setpiece. (I don't mean that as a diss, as he did some great ones on DAYS) I don't know why I never thought of it before.
  15. Kelly Thiebaud reacts in her typically mature fashion to Steve's latest exit. I was waiting for this! She never fails to do too much in public.
  16. Bailey Lou (among others) is what the BJ Jones Memorial Crash Test Bus was made for.
  17. I forget Bailey exists every time they don't mention her, which is often. Last week is the first time she appeared in ages for me to recall her existence. I have never been able to accept that Maxie has one kid, let alone three. But here we are. I do think Spixie deserve the kind of proper blowout happy wedding BLQ and Chase got two years ago - unlike the mediocre Chases, a lot of the longtime audience actually likes Spixie and that is the kind of shared event to help do a soft reset of the canvas and set up new stories. (Nor would they need to be together forever) But they haven't prioritized them in years. They should've struck when the iron was hot again with Kirsten in 2024, because the improved scripts made both her and Bradford shine.
  18. Maurice also talks Tony here. I was touched by him choking up in the BTS clip above. I have revisited '93-'95 lately and they really were great together BITD. Tony helped put him over at least as much as Vanessa Marcil.
  19. There was no spoiler in anything you posted from that site. As jane said, you were linking to a clickbait article from a sketchy website that referenced a weeks-old scene with Dante and Elizabeth which has already aired where they were talking about unrelated characters. That website then offered an opinion wondering if Dante and Liz could be paired. That's not a spoiler and it is not fact. There is nothing credible or sourced that indicates Dante and Liz are being romantically paired beyond a few potential chemistry test scenes. Speaking of actual material that is coming up on the show, here's Genie Francis talking about tomorrow.

    Oh good lord.
  21. Timothy D. Stickney (OLTL) John Loprieno (OLTL) Kamar de los Reyes (OLTL - mostly in the 90s, his second run often made his character deeply unappealing) The immortal Drake Hogestyn Phillip Brown (Loving/The City) Michael Nader (AMC) Gregg Marx (ATWT) Roscoe Born (only on The City - I didn't see his original OLTL run) John Callahan (AMC - again, in the 90s) Shemar Keith Hamilton Cobb (AMC) Sean Blakemore (GH - they totally wasted him, he was the finest man on that show for years) Maurice Benard (GH in the '90s - don't come at me, y'all know what time it was) Brandon Barash (GH/DAYS) Dominic Zamprogna (GH) Joel Crothers (Dark Shadows/EON, etc.) Michael Levin (RH) Timon Kyle Durrett (BTG) Sean Freeman (BTG) Greg Vaughan (BTG/GH) Lami (BTG - if he stops bobbing his head) Scott Evans (OLTL) Adrian Anchondo (GH) David Fumero (OLTL) Thorsten Kaye (OLTL in the 90s) Mark Valley (DAYS) James Scott (DAYS) Eric Martsolf (DAYS/PSSNS) Paul Telfer (DAYS) And many more. I think some guys like John Bolger, etc. are sexier in other things I've seen them outside daytime. For me, my first exposure to Bolger being his slimy character on OLTL (who we were later meant to see as a sexy leading man) colored a lot of things. I've seen some of him on AW and I do think he's hot, but it was different.
  22. Yeah, there's no actual Dante and Liz spoiler in the clickbait site you linked to, and your tweet is dead and goes nowhere. We do not re-post stuff from clickbait sites or anonymous rumors on SON. That's against the board rules.
  23. Nathan was never much of a character. He was simply the final result of a decade-long project to find a 'hunk' to pair with Kirsten Storms across multiple regimes. He still is a nobody to me beyond his lovely body and nice voice. I was not some Spixie diehard. I soured on them due to their dysfunctional cycles of behavior and I preferred Spinelli with poor Ellie for a long time, but they won me over again in the last couple years. It's typical if this show disrespects him for the short term though and expects us to want Maxie and Plastic Man #5 back together after Spinelli has been devoted to her. Then if Paevey quits or they scrap this whole story suddenly she'll remember his love and be full of apologies. But hopefully they'll surprise me next week.
