  1. Was that before or after he was on TSS?
  2. Thanks! From what I understand, her character shared most of her screen time with Paul Michael Glaser's character.
  3. My main beef lately is they always rerun the newer episodes these days. I really want them to air the Disco and Heatwave episodes again. I had them on my DVR until my cable box blew a fuse and I had to have it replaced. They installed the new box in a timely fashion but I ended up losing everything I had recorded. I did manage to re-record most of my favorites when TV One aired a bunch of them over Christmas, but those two were not on the list.
  4. @TimWil, here is the article featuring David Elliott from 1976 (though this magazine issue is from Feb. 1977): http://vintagesoaparchives.tumblr.com/tagged/david-elliott Here are also the SOD synopses for the show from 1976-78, which would signify the change of Billys, I believe. 1977 mentions little Stephanie having rheumatic fever, so this must be the plot that had Geraldine Court and the other stars of the show in hysterics!! https://classicsoddoctors.tumblr.com/search/1976 https://classicsoddoctors.tumblr.com/search/1977 https://classicsoddoctors.tumblr.com/search/1978
  5. Wow, what a cast. It even has Ken Kercheval, who I always call "The embittered Cliff Barnes"!
  6. It's frustrating, because whoever is contributing the info to imdb is going on a continuing basis by episode as if it was going on in 2017 and not the past. They can't, for example, simply state that Lydia Bruce played Dr. Maggie Powers from 1968-1982. Thor Fields, who played Erich Aldrich in the late 70s/early 80s, is in the FB fan group and mentioned that he got along very well with Shawn Campbell. They ran into each other a few years after the show had ended, and Thor mentioned Shawn giving him a great big bear hug. They never saw each other again, as Mr. Campbell passed on a few years after that. Thor mentioned that his favorite castmates were David O'Brien, Jada Rowland, Meg Mundy, Larry Weber, and the other "Aldrich kids". Per some magazine articles from the era, it looks like Shawn Campbell played Billy from 1977-79. Then the character left town for a year, and when he came back he was played by, of course, Alec Baldwin.
  7. I have enjoyed Martha's friendships with others throughout the years...most of all with Toni and before her, Anna Ford. I'm also glad she saw the opportunistic, chauvinistic pig Vito McCray for what he was.
  8. From what I understand, Penny does go after Rico several years down the road. However, Chandler Hill Harben was playing Rico by that point. He later replaced Christopher Reeve on Love of Life before moving on to Texas.
  9. Getting rid of Rico in early 1971 was a huge mistake. Richard Niles was so much fun to watch, and could have been a viable, if somewhat unconventional, young leading man for a long time to come.
  10. The writers that came after Lakin/Edelstein didn’t just ruin Nick, they eviscerated him. GG did have nice male/female friendship chemistry with Lydia Bruce, and of course, no one knows Nick better than his chief lab assistant, the delightful Martha Allen (played for nearly a decade by the equally delightful Sally Gracie).
  11. She sure does. Nice to see she hasn't butchered herself like some of her former castmates...*coughJoanVanArkcough*
  12. I got a crush on him after I first watched Grease 2.
  13. He seems to be. I had an email from him last week, and he mentioned that he would be off the grid for a few days to hike and write in the Blue Ridge Mountains. That sounds very Jody Lee-like, doesn't it?
  14. This is so true...most people don't know HOW true.
  15. Don't worry, the show would put Liz through even more torture before Pam Toll left to join the then-brand new soap, Somerset, in early 1970. Liz would not be the first woman connected to Nick that would find herself out on a ledge.
  16. Today, I received the autograph of CC Courtney (Jody Lee Bronson, 1968-1970) in the mail. I kind of miss that character. No way would the likes of the Pollocks/Lipton write a character like Jody Lee and not make him a complete yokel caricature.
  17. Another The Doctors alum, Mary Denham (Margo Stewart, 1973-74), is now working as a realtor in New York.
  18. It was on YouTube, last I checked.
  19. Do you think the story was ultimately cheapened by the reveal of the attacker's identity?
  20. Actually, she played Greta in November 1968, at Althea and Nick's wedding. Then she wasn't seen again until Christmas 1969.
  21. He's still very toned in the current miniseries!!
  22. Mark Valley was on when we first started watching, so I guess I'll always first think of him as Jack.
  23. David Elliott is in photos and cast writeups from ithe mid-1970s, so maybe TD hired him back? Supposedly, from some articles I read, he was involved in a major storyline in 1976, with the return of Carolee (as Jada Rowland) and Ann is not the supposed good girl we are seeing now. Hmmm. Gerald Gordon did have a reputation in those days as being somewhat of a womanizer, so maybe he hit on Geraldine and she didn't like it? I guess we'll never know. In any case, they had NO chemistry on-screen...especially when you consider the white hot chemistry he had with Liz Hubbard. You should really join the show's FB fan group, TimWil. One of the regular posters is the lady who captions the reruns. According to her, Angela Thornton will indeed be back in the episodes to come and she will again cross paths with Patrick Horgan's Dr. John Morrison. I had no idea Mariska Hargitay was once engaged to Adam Storke. I really enjoy the memories you've shared with us. Thank you so much!!
  24. He was in a L&O episode from 1996 called "Corpus Delicti", if that helps any.
