  1. Scott, Hillary, and Gregg have amazing chemistry together and you could tell how much they enjoyed working together, and how close they are in real-life. Nothing felt fake about it, and conversation naturally flowed. LOL at Scott saying the script was a mere "reference point" for Liz Hubbard. I still think that may have been a big part of her tumultuous relationship with Marland. Gregg and Scott are both DILFs. I only wish someone other than Alan was doing these reunions though. He needs to accept the fact he's no longer employed by P&G so there's no need to be such a "company man." I was bit peeved when he rolled his eyes and said "supposed" when Eileen Fulton's grandma clause came up - there's nothing supposed there, Eileen's spoken publicly about it many times. Hillary did clarify that Eileen no longer had that clause in her contract when she came back to the show, and a lot of fans were off the mark blaming her for Margo and Tom losing the baby.
  2. Mary Stuart must have been pissed the stolen underwear weren't Jo's!
  3. If you think about it, the 15 minute format is perfect for the mobile-first generation of now. People crave short-form content on their mobile devices and tablets, no one is going to sit through an hour-long show or feature film unless they absolutely have to on their mobile devices. 15 minute shows are perfect for people on the go or people doing things like commuting to work in the AM.
  4. I think it was said that stint was always supposed to be 13 weeks, and Marland was always supposed to go to GL (and the Dobsons to ATWT).
  5. Midway through JFP’s tenure is when CBS affiliates starting messing with GL’s timeslot as well. That coupled with the drop in quality still surprises me that the show wasn’t cancelled by 1995/1996. I imagine some of the changes in 89/90 turned some folks off, and the rapid cast changes in early 1991 didn’t help keep a ton of people who had gotten used to what the show had been since the mid-80’s.
  6. I've always found Chelsea insufferable, and Kassie as an actress as well (no matter the role). 1990 is a good year, and I feel the consolidation of why Calhoun was brought in as EP (to really temper Long's sometimes extreme tendencies). Reva, even though she's on her way out, didn't seem to eat the show and finally felt part of an ensemble cast. The Acapulco storyline with Roger/Alexandra/Holly/Ross being a big highlight from that year, the effects of which were felt for the next several years.
  7. I think the last time she appeared was during the MAB era for the god awful story that revealed Jill was Neil Fenmore’s daughter. Before the Christmastime 2006 appearances, she came back the year before for Michael and Lauren’s wedding.
  8. You know, even with her faults, I’d love to see Long back on daytime again. I know the current climate is not conducive to creativity, but I’d love to see what she would do with a show like DAYS or even GH.
  9. I think I’ve read somewhere that Pam based the Reva Shayne character partly on the Reena character from Texas.
  10. That’s nice, Hillary’s mentioned that she continues to be very close friends with both Scott and Gregg in the past.
  11. With our luck it with be David Kreizman or James Harmon Brown...
  12. I think it was used on Generations before AMC and GL - albeit with SSM’s generic and paper thin writing attached to the story... Don’t know if that was the first time though...
  13. I don't know if it's just a Y&R/CBS/Sony thing, I think they had VR blacklisted from the mainstream industry - it's not like ABC or Brad Bell at B&B (and we know he loves popular Y&R rejects), for example, are clamoring to hire her and they haven't in the last 13 years.
  14. Interesting that Simms confirmed that Mallet and Mindy were supposed to be the story until someone convinced Vincent Irizarry to come back. I wish they had done that instead, but I guess they needed another thing to extend the Mindy/Alex feud. I so wish Simms had landed another soap role after GL. A shame she never did. Forever my favourite Mindy.
  15. Morgan strikes me as one of those guys who has no idea how cute he is.
  16. Did Kimberly talk about working with Beverlee McKinsey?
  17. Cloris always struck me as one of those women who always put career before family and with no regrets about it.
  18. Yes, I will certainly pass on that.
  19. Something definitely happened behind the scenes at GL/P&G around 1994 that caused a lot of hurt feelings. Curlee never returned to writing again, and the ending of that experience left Mulcahey hurt. He continues to praise Curlee/Demorest as the best HW's he ever worked with alongside Doug Marland, so I don't think it had anything to do with his relationships with them, but the entire corporate culture of soaps (and P&G specifically) seemed to really tank around '94.
  20. Patrick Mulchaey Tweeted again about working with Curlee and Demorest, and how hard it was for him when this partnership dissolved due to external reasons. He says he still has a hard time speaking about it:
  21. lol - “Best character on the show.”
  22. Bless her, but one minute she's exposing things about the show, and then the next she's campaigning to be brought back with the same idiots in charge.
  23. Marland likely violated one of his own rules by staying too long, and unlike say Bell Y&R, he didn't have an owning financial interest in the show that would emotionally bond him to it at the same extent. But the sad thing is they had absolutely no one who could replace him, and no one at P&G imagined that there would be a day where the show would have to go on without him. I would have loved to have seen Marland go on to HW another soap, though. Perhaps he could have given AW some dignity in its waning years, or OLTL more depth and structure in those weird/late 90's years.
  24. Bless SSH, but I don't think she would have had the same power in the role as Flannery did. It was also said that Jaime Lynn Bauer was offered the role as well...
