Don't forget that while most of the cast have been snowed/flooded (?) in, someone Cane made it out...and Adam actually WALKED up the mountain. Literally. Walked. Speak of it. Damian really was before his whole storyline was hijacked. If we count his DAYS run (well the ending)...BOTH.

Wow. THAT'S how they dealt with Natalia? Part of me is shocked. Part of me see the paint-by-numbers of it all. Oh, well...Lucas and Marco got a cute little meet-cute moment. And FINALLY Curtis and Portia had it out. And dare I say it...that was the first time Portia actually came across as a villainess I could root for rather than slanted writing making her out to be the villain.

7-9 I mean that was kinda different. 3 different doctors (Finn, Li, and Grace) working on three different patients. That does remind me...I forgot to mention...what was all that about with Grace last week. Were the writers finally about to set up a storyline with her? And as for Li and her newish concern for Luna...yeeeah...I can't help but feel that she's about to do with Luna what she did with Finn. So I won't be shocked if that is the case. Sidenote...LOVING JMW's hair. That said...I don't like how she's painting Liam as this biiiig hero. GIRL, STOP. He could have held Luna without shooting her, or gave the gun to you. Yes, Luna taunted him, but that screen still did not play like self-defense. And gasp at Poppy saying that about her own daughter. Wow.

Same. Like just look at his 'calm before the storm' scenes he had last week with Smitty. He was looking at his husband like a man in love, wanting to tell his secret, but at the same time couldn't...and he played those layers quite well. Something he could not pull off...say Week 1. I don't think he's being propped either, but it's been a minute since he's been overbearing and arrogant like his grandpapa cuz he's coming across half of the time as a whiny politician guy (which I find kinda weak for him) and as a frantic parent which I do admit he carries a lot better. BC definitely does anger very well, but sometimes he can uneven with it...which can be a problem. I'm really looking forward to the moment I've been mentioning since the beginning...the moment when Martin has TOTAL recall. The last month we been getting more and more of the memory of that night. And I want to see how BC does. I always suspected that it would hit him when he was pushed to the edge. We almost got that when the anniversary party happened and Silk Press Sheila kept poking him with the brownie memory as well as him being upset with his father, but the writers pulled back. Now the stakes keep getting higher and higher with his family in growing danger and him growing more and more frantic so I expect his mind to find snap, revealing what the memory actually is.

Thank you! Same. Even their card scene last week or so which was basically the definition of 'reading a phone book' under JG's pen was great due to the chemistry those two had with each other. I definitely feel CK was and has been giving in this relationship. Which I admit I was surprised to see because of the aforementioned tales of CK, Lily, and white guys. And if she don't like it, I don't see that on screen. I did see chemistry between Lily and Damian and was looking forward to see where it could go. Have been since he was smitten with her from first sight. And I've said and continue to say what you said as well. All that build up...all that mystery...down the tubes for an unnecessary twist to a story that was actually pretty good in spite of the haphazard writing to bring back an unneeded character who had run his course when we finally got a new AND different character played by an actor who was good in the role. So of course, he's out. Still acting. Just now on BET+

JR is not a bad actor. He was let down by the writing...as everyone flying away from that show have proven (or will be proving next year in one's case) by how the actors are bouncing back on other soaps and showing they can act. But I digress. I feel BC has been doing a good job. That said...I do feel that the show has pulled back from some of the actor's debatably few strengths...and that has been hit or miss. But I am invested in his storyline. The real question is...now that we are not slowing easing BC into the role and are now in the thick of his storyline and its approaching climax...can BC pull it off. And we are about to find out.

Well technically they did sleep together. Now will Lily get a black love interest and we get to see the WHOLE scene is more the question? Same. She did have chemistry with both actors.

7-8 A Jazmen script...the gift that keeps on giving. Mission accomplished. As much as I don't like it, I noticed then and I noticed now that with the baby twist in the Dani/Bill/Hayley storyline, that I cannot look at their scenes and not see Marlena/John/Kristen circa DAYS late 90s when Kristen was faking her pregnancy pre-Susan. I guess it works because Hayley annoying me in a 'love to hate' kinda of way like Kristen then when you know she's lying, but she's hamming it up to be a victim. So those scenes with Hayley/Bill trying to read Dani after they had come to an understanding was just ugh. I also felt it was a set-up for Dani to run into Andre and Ashley on their date...and I was not wrong. So that was well-done in terms of the episode. And of course, BRAVO!!! I was impressed both times that Kenny being at Martin's house was REAL!!! And not a fake-out. May this show continue to keep its fake-outs to a minimum. Because Kenny being IN THE HOUSE was creepy and upped the stakes even more. Yeeeah, I didn't like Ty being all upset as if Martin ain't the parent. And Martin was definitely acting like a parent. I also loved like I mentioned before that the show verified what someone here suggested that Joey count the money...AND HE DID. The little things. Meanwhile, Jacob and Smitty continue to compare notes and get closer to the truth. And we know I LOVE Nosy Nurse getting her foine butt out of the hospital. FINALLY!!!! And on a date with DEREK of all people? I don't hate it. And they had chemistry. And the tension it gave to the Andre/Ashley date was great. I liked learning more about Derek and definitely love learning more about Nosy Nurse. Ashley continued to give Carrie Bradshaw-lite about it. And I liked the little beat of Derek not liking she was there with Andre nor was he surprised. And lest I forget...good cliffhanger with Bill/Joey's conversation and Dani seeing Andre/Ashley.

I know I'm looking forward to seeing them. And seeing if Luke is a bad boy cop. Or...might give Andre a run for his money.

7-8 Weeelll...not at all boring! lol. Unlike that other Bell show... That said...wOoooow. If you had told me that Steffy would be helping SHEILA of all people, I would have laughed about it. But I do now wonder how they (and Finn) will be after all this drama with Luna. And I feel this week is off to a good start even if the confrontation between Steffy, Luna, and Sheila took days of episodes. I mean, the tension never really let up as the other characters started to realize that something was wrong. I did want to shake Steffy sometimes cuz...why are we antagonizing the one with the gun? And part of me was giggling at the fact that this whole thing was echoing Sheila vs Steffy in the alley a little bit...and NOW Sheila is on the other foot. And of course, it wrote Luna into a corner again after Brad Bell worked so hard to get her out of that corner in the first place. But...it was good. I did not at all see Sheila getting shot. And I really didn't see LIAM getting shot. And I did not even see Liam shooting Luna, either! With intent! Cuz if he turns out to NOT die, is that going to be a storyline??? I could see it as self-defense, but I could see why it isn't, either. Good to see Hope/Carter. I rolled my eyes at Ridge/Taylee. And I enjoyed seeing Katie react to hearing what Will did. Sidenote...Li and all of that long raven hair. Finger crossed I am getting a hair toss. Again...good week with a lot going on.

And given it has always been established the families are close enough, it gives perfect tension to wait until after the climax and fallout.

Yeah, that could be interesting as well. We know next to nothing about Bill outside of his mother's death and he came from humble beginnings. And yep. hehe.

BTG: July 2025 Discussion Thread
7-7 I just might take it back. And by just might, I mean this episode. I didn't really like it on first viewing outside of the cliffhanger. But rewatching it, I think I figured out why. With the show so focused on building the momentum to Martin's Secret as A Story...anything less than that and that isn't the typical Thursday filler episode...is going to be jarring. Because it wasn't that there was not stuff going on. There were stuff going on. And as I've been commenting and watching today, it came to me. And it's delicious for me. If Martin had been doing what's he's been doing from the start and told Smitty to not go back to work, Smitty wouldn't have gone back to work. If Smitty hadn't gone back to work, Smitty would not be on this assignment about Marcel. If Smitty hadn't went ahead with the assignment, he wouldn't know that Marcel was a crooked cop. That Jacob's father knows. That the pieces of the Crooked Cop storyline now fit within a bigger storyline. And that bigger storyline is leading right to Martin. And now another puzzle piece in Smitty finding a connection between Marcel and Vernon. Consequences. This episode with Martin AND Smitty having their own secrets and a near-miss and a declaration of love that reads like a calm in the storm...it has collision course written all over it. And again as I mentioned, we would not be getting this emotional stake being raised and this beat hit if they had gone ahead and started with this story fully, making Month 2 being used to flesh out Martin, Smitty, and the family life that more satisfying in hindsight. So I liked we are playing this calm before the storm beat. From the moment that they didn't show what Randy did...I figured that Kenny might still be alive. The question for me was...why, Randy? Rewatching it now...the dialogue does seem to imply that this might have been Joey's first time asking Randy to kill someone. And that for me, is the only reason I could think of that he let him go. Moreso if he took some of Joey's money on top of that when he knows Joey is dangerous. I really appreciated that the throughline of Doug and Randy being friends since they were kids being played again, making the Doug/Vanessa/Joey storyline that much messier. I also loved the beat finally being played that Dani saw Doug and she told Vanessa. And we know I live for Dani/Vanessa scenes. Sidenote...it has been established that Dani and Martin are pretty close or have similar temperament, so I like the subplot of her staying to pick up on something between him and Vernon. Meanwhile, am I wrong to like Chelesa having a storyline? Perhaps it's just because it's a black woman exploring her sexuality. Or it's the fact it's a black women triangle? Well, I guess not just a triangle if Allison is about to go stalker on poor Chelesa and Madison. But I wasn't bored with it. And I do want to see where it goes. I also want to see where the June storyline goes. I know it might seem irrelevant and very slow. But...that's a C plot for you. And we got another clue with the phone number with this episode. I do like slow burns though and this is being paced right IMHO. But I feel the show for the most part (note I said most, not all) paced their stories out enough that when it finally gets interesting, one is more invested. And good cliffhanger. Well-played. Good music. Good direction. And it could go either way. And we saw how that turned out so again...well-played. Other sidenote...Mike Manning is really looking like a snack in that red shirt.

To be revealed. Especially if our discussions of that second family and it being the Hawthornes turn out to bear fruit since the clear set-up is already there.

GH: Actor "grateful" to return
Don't get me started. I suspect (off of one scene) that my girl might have fallen foul of one of divas/os of that show and that's why her appearances completely dropped. They were setting up too much for her to believe otherwise. And to bow down to Sidwell? GIRL, BYE. I love those are his REAL pants in real life, too. Impressed.

ALL: "What's the Appeal of Soaps?" TV LINE ARTICLE
Well that's kinda shady knowing that there are fans who will easily get someone up on the speed of a show to get them caught up. Case in point...I was asked a few months ago to explain a storyline on a soap. And, as I was regularly watching at that point, I gave it nicely, briefly, and constructively...shocked at how easy I did it on one hand and at how good the story actually was on the other. But not all fans are going to be gatekeeping is my point since we all like new fans. At least I hope. That said...I do agree at how easy it is to access a soap once you drop off from it. Cuz I am getting back into DAYS slowly when I haven't watched since it moved to Peacock and there have been jarring moments due to recasts that I've long forgot about, but I have found it easy to do. Same for GH which I'm slowly starting to rewatch again as well. But I know if I have any questions, there are plenty of people willing to answer them.

Yeah, I was thinking that might be too out of the box. I was just reading a column and it was mentioned that Madison has not met Anita yet so it made me go hmmm. Could she be involved in that return story somehow? Or maybe I'm off base and Madison is related to Barbara. Meanwhile, June is probably going to connect to the twins and/or Hayley.
