I at least think both of the previous Carlys could potentially get a new character over more than Michael Easton could. I say as someone who likes Michael Easton. So much so that she has not only done it with two Brennans...and yes, I'm shocked to type that given how much I love my 'Beast' and someone who I mostly keep on MUTE read: Val.

Sidenote...but having Grayson shirtless the past two weeks has been all kinds of win. I've been ringing this alarm since December. God to see it mentioned again by other folk.

The reboot we've all longed for: Highway to Heaven!
BUT now that you mention it...that too. He would have to be a Southerner to make it really work with that Southern charm. So people could reeeeal lust after him. lol.

Same. The potential was there. And there should have been time to let it grow. Also same.

Same. And I was not around for most of her run, but she still stood out when I was just soooo used to SJB. So her as Kim...just meh. Nina. And not before she spirals into a breakdown first. Though she might get saved again given the scenes with her and Brennan I just saw.

I mean...it's good fat if it's fat so there's that. LW from what I can tell has always been a team player. So anyone saying otherwise will make me serious side-eye. And she's not at all my favorite Carly. The only time for me recently where she has even felt like her was when she sashayed into that mob meeting in that white power suit and took over Sonny's mob during the Nixon Falls story. It was great. It was awesome. And as I said then...THAT...WAS...CARLY. Which made me just think...why have they not used this side of her since LW can and does do everything? It was soooooooo awesome for that brief period. She moved like SJB and TB always moved when they were in charge so I was just in awe. Jason who? A close second would be the start of her alliance with Val which I don't like, but once she realized what Brennan did with Joss, Carly was back and moving. I do remember that. So I'm glad that Wes...as much as I loved him on CHARMED and LATTER DAYS...is gone.

ARTICLE: ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ Ranks No. 1 Among Soaps In Women 18-49 & Women 25-54, ‘GMA3’ Sees Weekly & Yearly Gains In Key Demos
Yeah, once I saw this article yesterday right before work, I figured that was why as well. I also like that B&B...fluff as it is...is doing it by using the very thing that Y&R used to be good at...namely rotating A, B, and C stories with characters viewers like (or dislike) and giving dramatic Friday cliffhangers around the drama, camp, and mess...that makes a person want to tune in. Perfect...NOPE. Soapy though...oh, yes.

Honestly? I could see both of those. But I am leaning to Harry.

The reboot we've all longed for: Highway to Heaven!
Hehe. But then people would complain that it wouldn't be Matlock because Matlock is an older man. Who okay could be a snack too. hehe. Well thank you. Yeah, I think that was one of the reason I didn't like it unlike TOUCHED. I always felt it could be patronizing as a kid. I might feel different now as an adult. But still... LMAO! Facts.

ALL: Those big, iconic soap moments
Now that I'm thinking about it... Y&R...Ryan's Death. After decades of together and apart and a looooooooot of drama, Victoria finally made it back to her first love. And on the day that she is supposed to marry him, she walks into the dressing room...to see someone in the same wedding dress as her, back turned away. The music cues build as she first asks if the stranger is lost. Cuz she is getting married there today. Then she realized they are wearing the same wedding dress. The whole time...silence. Finally, she demands to know who it is and for the stranger to turn around. And...she does...revealing an unhinged Tricia Dennison...who was supposed to be on lockdown per Victor. Ryan's slowly unraveled (back when Y&R told slow burn tales) ex-wife. BOOM. Friday cliffhanger. The following week was just as good. But all Hades broke loose leading to Tricia trying to shoot Victoria at the altar. And Ryan jumping in front of Victoria, saving her. And seeing it above...YES to 'I Hate Myself.' That was such a moment. As usual, Nick and Sharon was sooooo close (again) to reunite and Giggly Heffa lost her ever-loving mind and tore up Sharon's hotel room which was cut through a montage of Nick (looking foine in those black boxer briefs) and Sharon making love. And Phyllis writes that on the mirror and saying 'I hate you, too' and the viewer wonders if she is talking about Sharon or talking about herself. Meta.

Y&R: May 2026 Discussion Thread
5-4 Okay, let me give credit where credit is due. After the start of Malcolm's storyline two weeks back, I tried to watch. But I just was not interested. So I decided to read synopsis of the day to figure out if there would be episodes worth watching now. Looks like it's an off-screen storyline since that week. Ugh. So seeing there was an episode where it was Victor vs Diane. I enjoyed EVERY minute of it. Victor ain't wrong, either. When people manage to hurt Victor and he loses something...he ALWAYS get it back. Let her know, Victor!!! lol. Great scenes. Add Patty and it makes three. I love seeing Stacy Haiduk again. But for me, she's coming across (and dressing like) Kristen Dimera. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. Y&R could use a schemer/villainess (not psycho). And before I stopped watching, Jack and Diane had settled into a nice rhythm. They could use some drama. The moment at Crimson Lights between Jack and Patty did have temptation heat so I can see why Kyle might have an issue. After all...Jack will Jack. And I wouldn't mind seeing how Jack and Diane will deal with all of this. And if there is one thing Josh Griffith will do it will be to give Abbotts story. I'm always here for Nikki/Lily scenes. I have been picking up on that little cafe the few times I have watched. So are they fading Crimson Lights out? I have mixed feelings about it. But that has to do with my own memories and what it represents to me. Honorable mention...I did start 5-5 due to seeing it was a Christine vs Giggly Heffa day. I was not expecting Christine to walk into Newman and arrest her. I enjoyed every second of the smirk on Christine's face. YES, PLEASE.

B&B: May 2026 Discussion Thread
YOU BETTER COME THRU WITH A FRIDAY CLIFFHANGER, B&B!!! And on MAY 1, too??? PROPS!!!! Finally coming into May with some free time and... I liked the week before this one. I was happy to see that Brad continued to pivot. They balanced out Brooke vs Katie nicely with the fallout from Ivy's manipulations. And still have bubbling story going on with Hope and Daphne/Carter. That said I am ready for Katie to slap Brooke. Katie is doing what makes her happy. It was Eric's choice and he doesn't get to whine about it now. Nor does Ridge. However, I do like the direction of where it's going. And B&B is at its best when there are feuding fashion houses. I'm hoping that if the next beat is going to be Hope leaving to join Logan that she brings Deke AND Zende over there and they allow them to get to their fashion potential. Cuz Zende was a cop-out when he should have been on it with HFTF over Thomas at one point. Meanwhile, I really had hoped Deke would have been over at Logan with Eric mentoring him. But...Zende could do that as well. Give us a fashion showdown. I...at least...continue to enjoy Will vs RJ. And I have to admit that I don't mind RJ and Dylan around each other, either. A love quartet where all parts could fit together? I don't mind that at all. I don't like that Dylan and Electra appear to be chummy again. Actually my feelings are mixed. Yes, Dylan did what Electra wanted her to do and moved out so Electra can't keep holding anything over her. But at the same time Dylan DID kiss Will a lot so can she really forgive that? Also Electra is being hypocritical when she had those kisses with RJ. And weren't they throwing barbs at each other? Good barbs at that? And Will does seem to have Dylan on the brain, too. So there's so much messiness there still and I love it. And again...that Friday cliffhanger was unexpected and great that I am about to see how it is resolved. B&B has been giving it over the last month or two with Friday cliffhangers and I love it. I could care less about Daphne and Carter wanting a baby. Her hair looks pretty though. hehe. I do like we have a nice little C plot going on though. And I'm curious to see if it will lead somewhere to keep Carter and Daphne in story. Good week.

GH: Classic Thread
YES!!! THOSE EXACT WORDS!!! The dialogue. The direction. But when Laura said that and yes, MaryBeth's reaction...I get chills just thinking about it. And you just make me want to rewatch those scenes all over again. The layers to it all really fascinated me then. And have when I've seen the clip and rewatched it. And it was nice when I was young to see Laura be a little bit edgy with Katherine vs playing nicer when Stefan was around. I remember seeing an article saying she was coming back and that the ball would have surprises so when GF came into frame...just soooo good. Katherine's return of course was also a shocker...and a Friday cliffhanger with great music from what I remember. Well I can see why Guza didn't want to let them go. I had never seen Stephen Nickels as Patch until after the fact. For me, he was Stefan. A goateed attractive dark tortured soul of a man who was cunning, but still had this soft spots to his personality. His way with words. His intelligence. The depth in his eyes. The sense of an enigma. I wouldn't have let him go, either. A case of stalling a story that I don't mind. But I'm bias clearly. lol. Tyler was just as great as Nikolas...which is why like you said that he should be there to be a constant reminder to Luke and Laura. Helena...well...who doesn't like a diva? lol. And they were so dangerous back then and like I mentioned...gothic with a feel of tragedy to them. I just ate that up.

ALL: Those big, iconic soap moments
You know what? It still holds up in my mind 'til this day. Outside of Erica Kane and my mother mentioning her, I had no interest in AMC. UNTIL that happened and my eyes falling on Sydney Penny for the first time with no idea of Julia's backstory. The tornado was so good that I kept up the 'habit' afterwards to be sure how Julia was...and just fell in love with the whole town. And Erica of course. And I saw that live as a teen so I totally agree. Lol. I know you grew out of it, but it never not get a giggle out of me how much you shade Lily when it comes to Clink Boom. But that might be my love of Brenda and fun shade showing. I really didn't like Lily as a teen, either. I really need to sit down and watch scenes some time to see if I care more as an adult. Because even now to this day, I can't sit down and watch SJB Carly scenes with Robin and not be taken back to how much I loathed her. Even as an adult. Part of the reason I was happy to see Liz matched her energy perfectly. An 'angel' with claws? Who knew?

Y&R: Josh Griffith steps down as executive producer
I came back for Malcolm. And after a nice start, I went back to just reading loglines to decide if I wanted to watch. Nope. lol. All of that was the straw that broken this camel's back. And let's not forget that having a new dynamic POC finally with an actual soapy story and sabotaging it to give it to an albatross of a character that was ALSO a recast...NOPE. I don't get it. Vail Bloom was desired back for years showing she did a good job through questionable writing out of all the Heathers...got interesting story only to die. And come on! Cole still had potential after decades of being away and you did that. Chance...speaks for himself. Poor Nina. Well given how things ended with JG last time due to stuff in real life, I always felt it was a sign that he might be burning out again.

Hmmmmm foreshadowing. BTG might have its flaws, but one thing that I really loved in its first year was the amount of foreshadowing that MVJ had done...something that was made clear when CBS would do its repeats of episodes last year.
