Bill Bell redid the Leslie story in the 80's when Ashley was put in the mental ward as Jane Doe and one of her roommates a woman named Ruth stole Ashley's food and threatened her daily. The actress who played Ruth went on to Bold & Beautiful to play the homeless woman Ruth Ann that Stephanie lived with on the street when she lost her memory and was homeless. The Ashley in the psych ward story introduced the character of Leanna Randolph Love (Barbara Crampton). She hated Ashley for marrying Dr. Steven Lassiter (played by SFT's Rod Arrants) and tried to poison her.- Y&R: Old Articles

It was a big loss to the show when LS left the role of Patty. Bill Bell loved writing for her and was upset when she left. Andrea Evans version was pretty much a bust. I'm trying to remember if this sets up the storyline where Patty does get pregnant and when she comes to see Jack at his office, she see's him banging Diane. Stunned she trips over a potted plant on her way out without them seeing her. Carl who is working at Jabot as a security guard because of a temporary suspension from the force finds her and asks if she is OK. She later miscarries.- Y&R: Old Articles

The 1982 episodes conjured up some long ago memories of watching the show back then. I didn't get to see it everyday with school etc...so I missed a lot of little details at the time. Lilibet Stern, Jamie Lyn Bauer, Meg Bennett and Victoria Mallory were actresses I never forgot from those days.- Y&R: Old Articles

I always wondered why Marguerite Ray left/or was replaced. I liked her in the role. She was on the short lived Sanford in 1980-81 when Redd Foxx tried to revive his old sitcom. She made several appearances in the original Sanford & Son in the 70's as different characters. I'm not sure they even showed the Abbott home or Mamie prior to 1982. I say the house set appeared when Jerry Douglas came on. Bill Bell was setting up the changes for the shows second decade and Mamie probably appeared around the time Ashley and Tracy show up. Someone on another board said that when John first mentioned his 2 daughters he referred to them as Tracy and Tiffany. BB must have changed his mind for some reason about that Tiffany name. I think Eileen Davidson said when she read for the part it was called "Tiffany". Here is a current pic of Christopher Holder who played Kevin Bancroft.- Y&R: Old Articles
I know what you mean. It was always kind of sad that when Kay would flashback to the past after JW took over, they could never show some of her best scenes with Jill, since BD was no longer playing the part. JC in her book said BD could be a handful at times, she still loved working with her and people behind the scenes did her wrong.- Y&R: Old Articles
I always wondered what went on with BD and the show in her second run. What bits I saw of her 70's run, she was more human. In her 80's run (when I was watching then) she came across as a campy caricature and cheap copy of Alexis on Dynasty. At one point she started speaking with kind of a eurotrash accent.- Y&R: Old Articles
One character around this time 1982/83 I have yet to see footage surface of is Brian Forbes. He was supposed to be Ashley's main big love interest, but he fizzled. The actor who played him (Jay Kerr) said in an interview that he went to make a phone call and never came back. He also said he didn't enjoy doing daytime and felt he was miscast and that people who meet him always mention Y&R to his horror. On his IMDB page he doesn't even have Y&R listed in his credits.- Y&R: Old Articles

Lilibet Stern's deparure from the role really ruined the character of Patty. Lilibet said in recent years that when she told Bill Bell she was leaving he was upset and told her he had huge plans for her character. When Andrea took over, he lost interest and she was gone in a year or so. In the mid 90's when Paul and Chris was going to get married, they had some scenes where Mary and Chris were looking at a photo album. Chris made the remark of the pretty girl in the pics and Mary said that's your sister in law Patty. It was photos of Lilibet. There was a scene of the back of a blonde woman calling the Williams home, but everyone was gone to the wedding. Nothing ever came of it. I wonder if Lilibet was being courted to return to the show ? Bill Bell was still writing the show at this time, so maybe he had hopes of bringing Patty back if it was her version.- Y&R: Old Articles

I think it's kind of sad after all those years of the Leslie/Lorie/Lance/Lucas mess, none of them wound up together. Lorie stood Victor up at the altar when she left town to go chase after Lance. We know from her return in 84 and 2002 she never got him back. The writers threw Lorie under the bus when she started whining how she made a mistake and not marrying Victor. Poor Lucas. Leslie and Lorie did not want him at all. They fought over boring Lance. Even Vanessa his mother shafted Lucas in favor of Lance.- Y&R: Old Articles
I just realized that the actress playing Karen is Jeanna Michaels. She played Bobby's first secretary on Dallas 1978-1981. I knew she was familiar. I don't think Chris Holder wanted to leave Y&R, but after Nikki and Victor were set to get married, I guess they no longer had use for his character. Shortly after Chris did EON in it's final months.- Y&R: Old Articles
I read that Wes Kenney wanted the Stevens family gone for some reason when he took over as Co-Executive Producer. I wish a few more characters from the 1973-1982 period could have stayed, as to tie all the decades of the show together more. JLB departure made Bill Bell pretty much scrap everything and reboot the show.- Y&R: Old Articles
I wish the show had kept Lucas, Lorie and Kevin around. I loved Lilibet Stern as Patty. I was just a kid then, and never forgot her. The women in the closing with Nikki and Vanessa are Casey and April. I think I remember reading Lucas does leave town with Karen. The actress reminds me a bit of Leann Hunley for some reason.- Y&R: Old Articles

You know something I have never seen turn up ? A promo for the 1979 premiere for KL. There had to of been some sort of thing shown as a promotion besides the Dallas episode of Gary and Val's remarriage. Someone posted the 1978 Dallas premiere promo.- Y&R: Old Articles
