My mom started watching the firs day too in 1973. Around the year 2000 she lost interest. Bill Bell was no longer crafting the stories. That's nice they have high praise for him. My first memories of Y&R are around 1979/80. The Leslie/Lorie/Lance/Lucas thing was going on and Victor's was married to his first wife Julia.

Sad to hear about DR. I remember him also being on a show in the late 80's called Danger Bay. It seems there are very few current viewers of Y&R that were around to watch the show in the 70's.

Was Carol introduced in 1969 ? Most write ups say 1970.

IMDB has Judi Rollin listed as Babs # 1 (1971) and Barbara Stanger as # 2 (1972-1974). That can't be right because they have Donna Wandrey as # 3 and she was playing the part in 1972. I say Wandrey was before Stanger.

Peter Galman said on his youtube page that he was trying to track down some of his ATWT work. I know there are some early 70's episodes listed as being at UCLA archives , but they are not available to be viewed. How many Barbara's were there before CZ took over the role in 1978 ? Donna Wandrey is listed as # 3.

Thanks for posting these two 1984 episodes. The commercials are a lot of fun to look back at. Is that Dorian Lopinto in the Playtex ad ?

I just finished reading an interview with the late Michael FIlerman. One thing that stuck out was he said he would have never cast Linda Gray as Sue Ellen. He wanted Mary Frann and implied Linda got her job because she and her husband were friends with a big wig guy at Lorimar. I remember reading an interview with Linda and she said the woman who casting director for Dallas had her come in because she had been the casting director on the short lived Norman Lear show All That Glitters. Talk about to different stories.

I have That Girl on DVD and it is another one of my favorite classic shows. Some of my favorite the episodes are when Don and Ann go visit Ann's parents like when she gets locked in the folding bed. Another great show is Ozzie and Harriet.

In the late 70's he hosted a Nickelodeon show called America Goes Bananaz and then went on to Texas 1980-82 and hosted Kids Are People Too at the same time he was on that soap. After that it was mainly bit roles and commercials. Here is a current pic of him.

On FETV I have been watching reruns of the old 60's show Hazel. Shirley Boothe was an excellent actress with good comic timing with Don DeFore as Mr. Baxter. Whitney Blake (Meredith Baxter's mother) as Mrs. Baxter is stunning to look at. The first 4 seasons were the best. In the last year (season 5) the show was not as good when they dropped DeFore and Blake to save money. I love the Baxter home.

Found this short film from 2009 on youtube. The principal is played by Mark Wheeler who played Lucy's short lived fiance Kit Mainwaring on Dallas in 1979.

I saw the Love Boat Reunion too and she seemed to be at peace. She also does fan conventions now and signs autographs. There are videos of her from those on youtube. Speaking of Family, I recently watched the David Jacobs interview at the Archive of American Television and he talks about writing for Family. It was his first big job. He said while working on that he was approached by Lorimar to do Pilot script and he came up with Dallas in December 1977. He then talks about on his break from Family having to go to Dallas in the middle of a bad winter in February 1978 and being in a flea bag motel doing rewrites on a daily basis to make things come together and going to the set. He said he had written the Dallas script to take place in warm weather, but didn't have time to change everything to adapt the unexpected snow. Which explains Bobby and Pam in the open convertible. He said his favorite episode of the mini series was The Barbecue.He felt episode two Lucy's Lesson was a mess.

Thanks for sharing. I looked high and low for a picture of what he looks like now and never could find one. Kristy McNichol was a recluse for quite a while, but she has started turning up at fan events and doing a few interviews here and there.

I loved that house too. I never can figure out what style it is. It has some colonial aspects.
