  1. Paul Lynde was also shoehorned into sitcom Temperatures Rising after his own sitcom failed. The original format of TR was well received, but they retooled it several times and changed the cast. Cleavon Little was the only original cast member kept for the entire series. Joan Van Ark was in the first season, but was let go with the retooling. The wikipedia entry is a good read about all the backstage and network antics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperatures_Rising
  2. Yes. Lots of celebs in this reel of ads. Cheryl Ladd, Kim Basinger, Steve Guttenberg, Connie Sellecca. The chick in the screen shot in the heart looks like Shari Shattuck......LOL
  3. Lee Lawson (Bea Reardon) in a 1973 Stove Top commercial.
  4. Geena Davis has had several short lived series. The Simpsons even made fun of her by having Homer watch several of her failed attempts on a retro channel he became addicted to.
  5. 1979 was also when all the crap hit the fan with Leslie marrying Lucas to hide the fact she was pregnant by his brother Lance. Lorie finds out and goes ape. Leslie later goes bonkers and leaves Lucas and Lorie to raise her son Brooks Prentiss. Lance is in the dark the whole time about being the father (it would be 1982 when he finds out) and Vanessa plays a game of cat and mouse with Lorie threatening to reveal all. Nikki slept with her college professor, killed her father, married Greg Foster and joined Rose Deville's modeling agency not knowing it was a front for a cat house. One of Nikki's John's dropped dead of a heart attack and the body was dumped in an alley. Jill trapped Stuart Brooks who loved her mother Liz into a sham marriage by faking a pregnancy. 1979 was one heck of a year for Y&R.
  6. I always liked Andy Gibb. I love all that late 70's/early 80's soft rock/pop/ Top 40 stuff like Andy Gibb, Player, Bee Gees, Michael Johnson, Ambrosia, Pablo Cruise, Paul Davis etc...It's relaxing to listen to late at night or on rainy days.
  7. Thanks for the 1982 video. Mary Ellen looks like one of the Mandrell sisters in that video. I think Teri Ann Lynn who was Kristen on B&B was also a Miss USA runner up in 1981.
  8. Steve Carlson: The Young and The Restless......1975-1976 General Hospital......1977-1979 A New Day In Eden.....1982 Santa Barbara.....1989 Bold and The Beautiful......1989-1996 Days Of Our Lives........1990 Days Of Our Lives.....1991
  9. Yes. I assume they had access to the entire Columbia Pictures library and they borrowed from it to add on to their originally composed themes for the show. All the old background music really set the tone for the show. They kept using it up till about 2000 when they started to phase it out in favor of new material, which stinks.
  10. Thanks for all that info. I saw a 1970 episode of a short lived series called "The Interns".....starring Mike Farrell and Christopher Stone. In one episode they were playing a background theme that I had heard in the episode where Jennifer Brooks discovers the lump. The music cue starts at: 20.00
  11. I remember a really great episode of Hart To Hart with Don Chastain where he has a one night stand with Mimi Rogers and she murders him.
  12. Looks like Tori is freaking out. http://www.tmz.com/2018/03/01/tori-spelling-suffering-breakdown-at-home-police-called/
  13. Joan Van Ark: Peyton Place......1966 Days Of Our Lives.....1970 Dallas......1978-1991 Knots Landing......1979-1993 The Young and The Restless......2004-2005 Dallas.....2013
  14. David O'Brien: Secret Storm....1963-1964 Our Private World....1965 Search For Tomorrow....1966 The Doctors....1967-1982 Loving....1983 Ryan's Hope....1984 Another World....1986-87
  15. Joel Crothers: The Doctors.... (early 1960's) Dark Shadows.... 1966-1969 The Secret Storm.... 1969-1971 Somerset.... 1972-1976 The Edge Of Night.... 1978-1984 Santa Barbara.... 1985
  16. Me too. Aaron always kept her in steady work, now that he is gone, she lost her steady rock. Speaking of Spelling, I remember one time seeing some photos of Heather's high school yearbook and in one she is doing the famous Farrah pose in a swimsuit, but she is wearing a fake nose and glasses for a comedy gag. Little did she know, she would be working for the man that made Farrah a household name and would do the same for her.
  17. It's sad that things have fallen apart for her in recent years. I take it she mainly likes bad boys and most of her relationships wind up being toxic. The current guy she's with she dated back in high school in the 70's. Heather has been working since about 1979 with commercials, guest appearances etc...Aaron was her big break when he discovered her at 20. I hope she gets the help she needs and gets her life on track.
  18. Heather Locklear looks rough. She needs professional help. The Jamie Luner scandal is a shock.
  19. I find myself bored with the current 1975 episodes. I fast forward most of it. You can see how Ann's personality has seemed to change overnight and she has started to scheme and cause conflict. She started a confrontation with Althea almost out of the blue. Mike is just off the wall and Toni and Alan are zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. They should have kept Margo on the show. The Steve/Carolee/Karen thing is getting old. I must have blinked and missed, but whatever happened to that practice that Steve had with Cliff and Ann ? Cliff just disappeared.
  20. Thanks for the recap. I hope the episodes make their way to youtube so we can see them. The blonde guy he mentions talking to Sebastian about a South American project sounds like Lucas Prentiss. I remember reading something about that storyline. One poster on another board made fun of that story and said that Bill Bell was trying to bring the mob to Genoa City. Leslie and Jonas were also involved in all that. This was when Leslie had amnesia and she bleached her hair. The same poster who made fun of that also use to rag on the Peggy Brooks character when she was brought up. The Greg & Nikki scenes sound great. Nikki's first marriage has long been forgotten.
  21. I remember reading that when the show went to an hour, it voided all the contracts the actors had signed for the 30 minute show. Several of them opted not to re-sign like Beau Kayser, Brenda Dickson, John McCook etc...Beau stayed for a little while beyond the 1 hour expansion.
  22. I wish we could see all of 1979. As you said that was a great year of drama. That was also when Lorie found out her sister Leslie was pregnant with her husband Lance's child. Leslie married his brother Lucas to hide the fact and Lucas claimed he was the father. At one point those scenes of Lorie/Lucas/Leslie was posted here.
  23. I think that clip of Snapper and Chris wedding was taken from the Y&R 20th anniversary. I agree about $ 1,000.00 being outrageous and the risk of it being a scam. There are a lot of vintage soap episodes listed in the UCLA film archives, but they will probably never get around to transferring them to media for public viewing. They figure it's not important.
