  1. Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing on Dallas would spew some hilarious lines. In one episode he was confronting Val. She asked him how he found her and he said " When I found out you were back in town, I had my people check out some of the cheaper motels. Figuring you were living the life your accustomed to. Sure enough here you are. He would also refer to Pam as " That Barnes Girl" and told Sue Ellen " Nothing is uglier than a woman who can't handle her liquor". Calling her slut, tramp etc a lot of times when she was passed out... He also was annoyed about Bobby's friend Guzzler showing up and talking non stop. He went upstairs to bed to get away from him and muttered under his breath " That actress Farrah Fawcett Majors could become Farrah Fawcett Guzzler.......LOL
  2. I saw that Beir died in 1980 of cancer. He also appeared on Days circa 1978 as the guy who raped Julie. He was on Dallas in 1979 for 3 episodes. His character was set up by J.R. and a prostitute played by Veronica Hamel. They got a photo of him in bed with Pam while she was separated from Bobby to make it look like a sex scandal. Everyone in the family knew it was a scheme of J.R.'s and it pissed him off when she came back home to Southfork with Bobby.
  3. I saw he is listed on Y&R starting in 1980, but I though Mitchell started appearing on the show in the 1970's.
  4. On the show in the first episode Snapper tells Stuart it was because of his disposition. He wants to become a doctor to live like the Brooks do because he see's them as wealthy. Bell said the real life kid named Snapper was snotty and bratty.
  5. I remember back in the late 90's on the old news group boards James Houghton who was writing for Y&R at the time would post there. At first I was skeptical, but he would tell you stuff that would happen on the show way in advance. He would also answer questions about playing Greg in the early days and referred to William Gray Espy as a bit of a strange fish. He said all Espy really wanted to do really is play golf. A period of time after (about a year) they did an update on Espy in SOD and sure enough he was running a golf course on his hometown of Dothan, Alabama. Houghton was also asked why he decided to leave Knots Landing and he said " I didn't, I was asked to leave"....LOL Someone also asked if he would ever pop in as Greg (this was before the 2003 return) and he said probably not, but maybe do a cameo as a janitor or a computer tech.
  6. The original set decorator for Y&R in the 70's was Brock Broughton who went on to do the sets for Dynasty in the 80's. I think Brock Reynolds was named after him and made his debut in 1974. I wonder if Reynolds was added because of the extreme popularity of Burt Reynolds at the time. Brad Bell = Brad Elliott Lauralee Bell = Lauralee (Lorie) Brooks Lee "Phillip" Bell - Phillip Chancellor William J. Bell & William Jr. - William " Bill" Foster Sr. & Jr. (Snapper). The Bells had friends with a son nicknamed Snapper.
  7. Speaking of Matt played by Robert Parucha......there was an actor that looked similar to him named John Darby. He was the boyfriend of Barker Beauty Holly Halstrom on the Price Is Right for a period in the mid 80's. It stated on TPIR that he was on Y&R and Capitol. I do not remember him on either show. I was in school then and only go to see the shows on breaks. Does anyone remember him and the roles he played ? I assume they were short stints. Here is a clip of him surprising Holly in a showcase in 1984.
  8. I had read that rumor about Lilibet letting herself go on the old media domain boards. Supposedly she was an exercise instructor and nurse at one point in her life. There was also a story of a nasty divorce from her first husband and details about the home they were living in. She is now in real estate and looks good. She goes by her re-married last name Iken now.
  9. I agree. A lot of episodes were written by David Jacobs (Dallas & Knots Landing).
  10. Judith Chapman on Family in 1980.
  11. Yes. A woman called them all one by one to meet at The Colonnade Room, but it was never revealed who it was.
  12. Back in the mid 90's on Y&R when Bug was planning her wedding to Paul, they randomly started talking about Patty and they showed pics of Lilibet Stern while Mary and Bug looked at a photo album. Alex Donnelly was brought back as Diane Jenkins at that time. The history of Jack/Patty/Diane was brought up and Paul was ranting how Jack had hurt Patty. On the day of Bug & Paul's wedding, the phone started ringing after everyone had left for the church. They showed the back of a blonde woman in a phone booth calling. Then it was all dropped and Diane was put into Victor's orbit. I wonder if Lilbet Stern was asked to return and she declined ?
  13. I always remember Peggy Cass as the hilarious big mouth mother of Abby, Gidget's rival in "Gidget Goes Hawaiian (1961)". Jeff Donnell (Stella on GH) was Gidget's mother and Carl Reiner was her father. Reiner and Donnell were great together. There is one scene where she is trying to feed him pineapple on the beach that makes me chuckle. Vicki Trickett was good as the snotty jealous Abby, but dropped out of acting to become a teacher according to her imdb bio. She was already a mother in real life when she won the role at age 22.
  14. These diva stories are hilarious. I would love to have seen some these people go head to head with each other. Imagine a showdown with: Larry Hagman and George Peppard Melody Thomas Scott and Deidre Hall Susan Flannery and Mary Stuart etc...
  15. The Dallas Fanzine is an awesome page. They have a lot of rare behind the scenes photos. In one they show Victoria Principal on the set of the 1978 5 part mini series with the Box family maid. The interior of the Box mansion is different than what was shown on camera. They used a different interior (with the dark woodwork) from another house. The Box house had painted trim typical of colonial style homes like the permanent Southfork. It's a shame that house burned in 1987.
  16. He did an appearance on that show with Vicki Lawrence called " The Cool Kids" and I saw him with the long hair and beard. He was almost unrecognizable till he spoke.
  17. Someone on youtube has uploaded some later episodes of Family. Here is one from 1979. Brent Spiner (Data From Star Trek TNG) in an early role as the assistant to the swim coach.
  18. David Abbott looks like he could be one of the Bay City Rollers.......LOL
  19. Yes, it sad how cigarettes have taken so many lives. Bill also told the story when he met Lucille Ball in the 80's and she told him she loved watching the Turner Super Stations. By that time her voice was wrecked with cigarette smoking and she was lighting one up as she was talking to him. He was saddened to see what it had done to her. She was a hoot. Bill Tush said he didn't know the exact reason why Mike Douglas was let go, but speculated maybe Ted Turner and the other's in charge felt he was old hat from the 70's. I say Ted Turner also didn't have to pay Bill as much as Mike and figured a cost cutting measure.
  20. I found a current 2019 article with Bill and he said Jan called him a few months before she died and has her final message on his phone. He said she was a heavy smoker and even when she was dying she would remove her oxygen mask and smoke. He said they always kept in touch throughout their lives and had lunch when they could get together, and exchanged phone calls up till the end. I don't know if still stays in contact with Bonnie & Terry Turner.
  21. Yes that is Bull Tush. Bill filled in for Mike.....but something happened with Mike's contract and he was replaced by Bill. I saw an interview with Bill where he said he was shocked when Ted Turner just called him up and said Mike's out and your in. Then after a year Ted pulled the show without explanation and sent Bill to another show, then finally to New York. Bill said Ted would often do stuff without telling him why. When Bill had his own comedy sketch show "Tush" on Superstation WTBS (1980-81) with Jan Hooks, after a year Ted just said "Shows Over"......Bill said Ted never told him why, but people at the network told him every morning after the Tush show aired, Jerry Falwell would call Ted at his office, so he thinks maybe the pressure from Jerry killed the show. Jan did a regular sketch on the show called " Tammy Jean" as a parody of Tammy Faye Bakker.
  22. Rituals promo at about 30 seconds.
  23. It's hard to believe she is 72 now and Adam (little Nicholas) is now 51. I hope he has straightened his life out. He was a mess for years with dug abuse, breaking into pharmacies, and D.U.I's.
  24. Current photo (2019) of James Van Patten and Eight Is Enough stars Connie Needham (Elizabeth), Diane Kay (Nancy), Laurie Walters (Joanie) and Adam Rich (Nicholas). They were there to support Betty Buckley (Abby) in the play Hello Dolly.
  25. I remember these storylines as a kid. Stephanie the girl on the phone is played by Dana Kimmell. Kimmell was on Texas and did tons of episodic TV. Her biggest claim to fame she had the starring role in Friday The 13th part 3.
