  1. I wonder why Chris Bohn did not return to play Jason ? I remember him flubbing his lines in one episode when he called Steve by Jason, before correcting himself. Bohn's son has a page on youtube where he has some of his fathers work uploaded.
  2. Victoria Principal remembers Dallas 40 years later. http://people.com/tv/victoria-principal-dallas-40-years-later/
  3. What was the appeal of Jeffrey Tambor ? He was always so stilted, uptight and awkward. He starred in that awful Three's Company spinoff The Ropers. I bet Audra Lindley and Norman Fell were pissed by that mess and getting screwed out of their TC spots.

I remember back in the 80's, cable channels were owned independently and they would air all kinds of shows you rarely see anymore, even short lived series. Today most channels are owned by corporations like Viacom and they air the same dang crap on several channels. Back then sometimes if a series was aired on one channel, another channel could not get rights to it.
  5. Lee Phillip Bell in Amoco/All promo at 3:02 Pamela Peters (Peggy Brooks) at 10:55 in the ad for Head and Shoulders. James Hampton as the husband.

I used to like MASH, but here in my are there are about 10 channels rerunning it in BIG BLOCKS and marathons daily. The same thing with Bonanza. As soon as a retro channel pops up, Bonanza is automatically on their schedule. Friends is another one ran into the ground.

I know. I guess I get tired of seeing the same reruns over and over, while a lot of shows are forgotten and rotting away in a vault somewhere.
  8. As the tennis player ? The guy modeling the glasses at 7:46 and in the audience in the third row in red t-shirt(at the end) is actor Doug Barr from The Fall Guy and Designing Women.
  9. Dennis Cooney (Jay) looks funny in that pic. I can't believe viewers thought he was hot stuff. I saw a 1979 episode of Hollywood Squares and the female contestant told him that she always had a thing for him.

I wish they would dump all those westerns during the day. It's seems like all oldies networks buy the same old tired westerns and run them in big blocks.
  11. Linda Gray for Noxzema 1973
  12. I remember Lucy Deakins did that movie The Boy That Could Fly that The Disney Channel ran into the ground back in the mid 80's.
  13. Here is the first day of ESPN in 1979. Stephen Shortridge (ex -Dave B&B) is in the commercial for Racquet Club cologne at 9:42 and John Forsythe does the voice over for Michelob 34:04. Stephen was in the episode of Toni's Boy's the proposed spin off of Charlie's Angels.
  14. Colleen Zenk in several 1983 ads for Ivey's.
  15. Michael Tylo and Leslie Denniston Hastings in the Sure ad 3:22. Commercials aired September 28, 1979
  16. It was odd to see Robert Horton as Whit McCall. He was mainly known for western roles. In the late 50's/early 60's he was on that show Wagon Train. As Whit: Wagon Train
  17. I'm a subscriber to this channel too. Thanks for creating a thread about posting old TV clips. I love going back in time and watching all this stuff. I just recently watched a 1978 Superstars special on another channel where all the popular athletes of the day competed against each other like Steve Garvey etc...I also like all the Battle Of The Network Stars specials. If it were not for people sharing their collections, most of this stuff would never see the light of day again and be forgotten. VCR's were pretty common in households by the mid 80's, but to see stuff from the 70's on home video recordings amazes me. Most people taped over stuff since tapes were expensive back then.
  18. I agree with everything you said. Brenda did come off the rails in those final days. She seemed to start speaking with a eurotrash accent. I guess trying to channel Joan Collins as Alexis. That story about MTS and Jeanne Cooper was interesting. I have a feeling Melody may have gotten an ego after marrying executive producer Ed Scott. Yes, Casey was the only tie to Nikki's past pre Victor. Even though Paul was on the show, most younger viewers probably had no idea that they were even an item at one point, and Nikki's early marriages to Greg and Kevin were swept under the rug. I remember back in the 90's when Nikki was going to marry Brad, Jack was talking to Ashley and said " Nikki Reed Foster Bancroft Newman Abbott soon to be Carlton. I was shocked at how random that was thrown out there. I guess Bill Bell would do stuff like that at times to give long time viewers a laugh. The same way at John & Jill's second divorce hearing, Katherine on the witness stand starting naming all the men Jill seduced and she mention Stuart Brooks and Derek Thurston. Yes, some cousins of Nikki at the ranch would have been good. One male cousin could have been a ladies man that run the ranch like Ray on Dallas and laying pipe all over GC. After bedding Jill in the bunk house, she would want him be the face of the men's line. His sister could have been like early Fallon or Sammi Jo from Dynasty and going to work at Jabot and sleeping and slapping her way through the company. Women with big ole 80's hair dueling in the offices at Jabot. Cat fights galore. Nikki should have gotten so bored that she started to have men in during the day while Victor was at work.
  19. Here is a 40th anniversary with Randy Powell who played Alan Beam on Dallas 1979-1980.
  20. Kim Lankford (Ginger) with Greg Evigan (Dallas, GH) in a 1976 Coke ad.
  21. I sometimes wonder of MTS and EB just tolerate each other. I remember MTS said in a recent interview that Nikki needs to dump Victor and be done with him once and for all. EB seems to be more fond of ED. He also seemed to be very fond of Meg Bennett who played his first wife Julia. I remember reading an old interview from around 1984/85 and he said he was going to miss her deeply when she decided to write full time. They also use to travel and make personal appearances together.
  22. I took another look at that ad, is the actor Richard Shoberg from AMC ?
