Knots Landing
I was reading some TV trivia and was surprised to see that Donna Mills auditioned and really wanted the role of Julie Kotter on Welcome Back Kotter. Another actress that really wanted the role and did an audition was Farrah Fawcett (then Majors). Supposedly you can view their tapes at Paley.

Thanks. I guess his voice sounds like someone from commercials or cartoons.

I agree. Thomas Connolly looks and sounds familiar for some reason. He may have done voice overs or acted in commercials. I tried Google but came up with nothing on him.

I wonder what happened to the Cliff DeSales character played by Thomas Connolly ? He is no longer being shown and only mentioned, but someone posted on youtube that the role will be taken over by another actor.

Thanks for posting the 1981/82 shows. It's weird to look how the show evolved while still watching 1973 shows on youtube. I see Mona is still as prickly as ever. It's funny to see Jada's version of Carolee talking disparagingly about Matt when Carolee Campbells version saw him as a saint. Liz was pretty much turning into Lucinda at this point. I read that NBC hated Alec Baldwin and wanted him gone. I guess they had ESP about how he would turn out.

Family (1976-1980)
Glad to see you posting again. I agree. The show is being forgotten in time. They also need to air it on one of the retro channels to get new generations of viewers. There is a poster on youtube called vcrcooking or something like that, who has posted episodes from later seasons. John Rubinstein who plays Jeff looks like singer Leo Sayer, especially in the pilot.....LOL

It seems Paul Carr mostly played heavies. There are few roles I have seen where he's the good guy. I know he will appear on The Doctors as a dastardly Doc around 1976 if we get to see them that far. He also originated the role of Bill Horton on Days and had roles on Y&R and Dallas. How long was he in the role of Peter ?

I would love to see them too. I agree about Brooke Bundy. She was a popular guest star on a lot of 60's.70's TV, but what bits of her Diana I have seen, she overacted the part. I was noticing how Craig Huebing reminded me a bit of actor Paul Carr and come to find out Paul briefly originated the role of Peter in 1969 before Craig took over. Paul appears to have played many short term roles on soaps. He was a popular guest actor on may series and films, I guess he couldn't commit long term to a soap.

I saw a clip on youtube from a few years ago where the cast was being interviewed at Paley. Roberta stood up in the audience and asked MTS why doesn't Nikki call her sister. MTS was surprised and glad to see her. So I assume they might be friendly again. Roberta looks a bit different from her Y&R days. If she would return to the show that would be great, if not they could do a recast. I suggest someone like Lindsay Wagner (she's in my profile pic with Lee Majors) who is an excellent dramatic actress and has that smokey/husky voice like Roberta.

LOL....Yes, Bionic Woman and Six Mill scream 1970's. Your comment on Jaime looking like she's going to macrame class is hysterical. In one episode she is wearing bell bottom jeans, and platform sandals with black socks. In the same episode Oscar Goldman was about 10 years ahead with some of his fashion choices like the preppy pastel color sweaters, straight slim pants and loafers without socks. CLC would have been great as a WW rival on the series. She had an exotic look. Lee Majors aged rapidly by the time SMDM ended. He and Farrah were having problems by that time too.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
LOL at your Wonder Woman discussion, I watched the show as a kid too. Lyle was duller than watching paint dry. As time went on Carol Burnett used him less and less in skits after the heart throb novelty wore off. He got upset and quit her show and I don't think they tried to stop him. Remember that TV movie they did with Cathy Lee Crosby as a blonde Wonder Woman ? That was weird, She had a female Evel Knievel costume on and had weird scenes of a donkey in a shower, a snake drinking milk and melted rainbow ice cream looking glop melting out of the walls. People still trash that movie to this day.- "Secret Storm" memories.
I would love to see a complete color episode from the late 60's or early 70's. Especially with Marla Adams as Belle.- "Secret Storm" memories.
Starting at the 11:54 for mark are promos of The Edge Of Night, Search For Tomorrow and at 12:44 a promo of Secret Storm that I don't think I have seen before.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
Does the character of Dr. Cliff De Sales played by Thomas Connolly amount to anything ? Mona wants him to become partners with Ann and Steve in a medical practice. Cliff came into the picture when he became Cathy's doctor and he told her about the dead fetus.- Y&R: Old Articles

Pamela Peters sounds like she either didn't want to be on the soap for long periods or Bell just didn't know what to do with the character or didn't think she could carry front burner storyline material. There was a poster at the old media domain boards that couldn't stand Peters or Peggy and would slam her on occasion when she was brought up in memory lane threads. Yes, Stuart and Carl just stopped appearing. Carl was brought back in the late 90's out of the blue for that lame amnesia storyline where he stayed in Virginia with that Ruth woman. What was the point ?- Y&R: Old Articles
That is strange Peggy was in the middle of a rape trial and was off screen during it. I have read that many viewers liked actor Dick DeCoit (Ron Becker Peggy's rapist) and was hoping he could have been redeemed. It would be interesting to find out why Bell fired Herrera after the Peters incident and what her problem was. I saw a 1980 SOD blurb about Peters and she was talking about being excited to be back on the show and her new short hairstyle. I guess her last storyline of any kind was when she was seeing Greg Foster because I don't think she was on beyond 1981 till the 84 wedding. I also remember reading on a message board about the power struggle between Bell and Conboy and Conboy going behind Bell's back to CBS to have him replaced as head writer on his own show. Someone said Conboy thought the show was getting stale. In Jeanne Cooper's book she said Terry later regretted burning his bridges with Y&R and the Bells. I think years later Terry ran into Bill at a restaurant and they made amends. - As The World Turns Discussion Thread
