  1. My earliest GL memories are from about 1980/81. I was excited see the two re-uploaded 1977 shows. The one with the Spaldings staying with Jackie was not long after their arrival in Springfield. I wish someone had the episode of their first airdate. I say most of the 70's episodes are long gone. I have only seen the 1973 episode about Papa Bauer's funeral and the two 1977 episodes prior to 1979 in circulation.
  2. I've been going back and watching some classic GL episodes on youtube. I wonder why they never brought back Hope Bauer Spalding, Lainie Marler, Justin Marler, Elizabeth Spalding in later years. The Elizabeth and Alan confrontations were awesome. Chris Bernau was my favorite Alan. He died when I was 11.
  3. I was watching some scenes between William Gray Espy and Matt Crane and it struck how much Matt looks like he could have played the son of Espy's version of Snapper Foster and Trish Stewart's version of Chris Brooks on Y&R. I know Snapper & Chris had a daughter, but they could always write in they had a son as well.
  4. One of my favorite classic films from 1950.
  5. I never understood why they got rid of Quint and Nola. They were a super couple 1981-1983, then by the time they left they did that stupid Nola Aerobics storyline. I guess when the Lewis family and Reva arrived, Vanessa was pulled in that direction and Nola didn't have her sparring partner.
  6. Ad for Rituals at 16:48
  7. I don't understand why TLW is no longer on the show. Is it by her own choice or the shows ?
  8. This probably has been posted before, if not here is a circa 1982 Michael Tylo interview.
  9. Donna Mills appears in the Pepsodent commercial.
  10. Donna Mills Folgers commercial 1965. Even in the 60's she was sporting her trademark eye makeup.
  11. I found a couple of more clips of Tonya Lee Williams early Canada career. In the Days Casting Old Role thread I posted a 1977 clip of her on a dance show called Boogie. Here she is in a 1979 Milk commercial and on a children's show from 1980 called Polka Dot Door.
  12. When the Frannie/Sabrina story kicked into high gear, didn't they bring back Rick Ryan (the original actor), saying he engineered the whole thing? He initially came back for the anniversary several months earlier, I think (or did he?), and then that story. I think he was the lackey of the British villains who were pursuing Sabrina. I went back an watched some of the 1986 episodes with Rick Ryan's return and Con Roche looks so familiar for some reason. Did he play in anything else on TV or film ? His resume on IMDb only has him as playing the role of Rick and just lists his 80's return and not his 70's run. Someone posted on his message board that he was an awesome teacher.
  13. Here is a 1972 commercial with Tom Ligon who played Lucas Prentiss for Gillette Dry Look.
  14. I find the first picture of Tom and Natalie funny for some reason. They kind of look like a deer caught in headlights with Natalie looking spaced out and Tom with his mouth open.
  15. I think the show should have brought Rita back at some point.
  16. That is a disgraceful to treat Mart Hulswit that way. I always wondered why the recast.
  17. Was Mart fired from GL in 1981 or did he leave on his own ?
  18. Sometimes you have to read in between the lines of interviews and comments by actors, producers etc...I remember reading over the years that several people from AW and OLTL said Reinholt was his own worst enemy. He wound up pissing a lot of people off and nobody would hire him. He was living in a converted garage and supported himself as an escort. Someone posted that he later came out and had profiles on same sex dating sites. Yes, Reinholt had certain issues while working on both AW and OLTL...and I don't think we even had to read through the lines to see it. His problems were pretty overt. Whether or not his loud, public complaints about the shows' writing and producing were justified (and in certain key areas, I agreed with his criticisms), by all accounts he must have been a handful. He later spoke about working as an escort, claiming that he went out on platonic dates with fans who wanted to spend time in his company. As a viewer, my principle concern was what he brought to my TV screen, however, and for most of his tenure on AW, he gave complex, mesmerizing performances, and had great on-screen chemistry with Jacqueline Courtney, Robin Strasser, and even Victoria Wyndham. I agree he was a great performer from the material I have seen. His ego just got the better of him. In the 90's he went on Sally Jesse and complained about Soap Opera Digest listing him # 1 on their list of most difficult soap stars. He saw it at the super market check out.

  20. Seeing Greg Wrangler (Steve) in the Y&R article makes me wonder why Bill Bell never had Lauren goes after Steve and continue her rivalry with Tracy.
