  1. It was strange how she came in and out of Y&R. I remember reading she walked off the set in the middle of a scene. When she came back on the show in 1980 they paired her with Steve Williams and then Jack Abbott came sniffing around and helped put the kabosh on that pairing. She later hooked up with Greg Foster after his divorce from Nikki, then she just disappeared again till 1984 at the Newman wedding. Was she off the show at the end of 1981 or was she still on in 82 ?
  2. I tried to google her and never came up with anything current. I tried her both as Peters and Peters Solow. She may have remarried and goes by her current husbands name. The same way nothing turns up on Trish Stewart. I am use to seeing Pam as a redhead too. When I stumbled across this commercial I recognized her face and voice. She returned to being a redhead by 1984 for the Newman wedding, unless she was wearing a wig. She has a unique voice that would of been great for cartoons and voice over work.
  3. Julia Duffy made her debut today as Penny. She was about 21, but is playing 16. We also got to see her father.
  4. 1983 Folgers commercial with Pamela Peters Solow (ex Peggy Brooks). She is in the kitchen scene with Mrs. Olson and has darker hair.
  5. This old 60's Dial commercial looks like it may have been filmed in the Horton living room set.
  6. Was Peter Burnell forced off the show ? I seem to remember reading and uploaded article where he stated that things changed at The Doctors and it was as if he never existed once he was gone.
  7. I remember watching those cartoon specials too.
  8. Last year I bought the DVD collection of the Carol Burnett Show " The Lost Episodes" 1967-1972. In the book with the set, Carol talked about how the shows were in CBS storage and never reran due to legal issues, how they had to get stuff worked out, and the process of preparing them for release. They show a pics of Carol standing in the CBS TV archives surrounded by those huge reel tapes and the boxes look all worn and tattered, stacked on shelves etc....I kept thinking probably in that same room somewhere is the 1970's and 80's episodes of Y&R collecting dust and rotting away.
  9. Peter Burnell (ex Mike) scenes on Search For Tomorrow. Ginger Gerlach (ex Julie) in a 1969/70 Crisco ad.
  10. Peter Burnell (ex Mike The Doctors) scenes on Search.
  11. Kathryn Hays and Martin Milner in a Route 66 clip from 1963.
  12. I remember liking Brittany back then. I was in school then and only caught the show on breaks and summer vacation. I was at home watching when all the Paul/Cassandra/Adrian stuff went down and Bug's date rape storyline. I remember Terry's departure and the backlash against the Bells about nepotism. Chase, Brittany, and Cassandra should have been kept, but Bill Bell always had those characters he didn't know what to do with like Brock, Peggy Brooks, Greg Foster, Casey Reed, Carol, Skip etc... Melissa Morgan Squire (ex Brittany) has posted her scenes from Y&R on her youtube page.
  13. These 1989 episodes remind me of how much I miss the vintage background music that Y&R used for decades. I never understood why Y&R never did more with Brittany and Chase. Bug was sucking up air time as usual.
  14. The mid to late 90's was a weird period for Y&R. Then again, the last 20 has been. I remember them bringing back Grant Kramer as a character named Adam to be Ashley's new love interest and lab partner. That lasted about 5 minutes. Then they brought Leigh J. McCloskey on as Kurt Costner. He was originally meant to be paired with Shari Shattuck's version of Ashley, but then he hooked up with Hope and went with her when she left.
  15. Short lived 1979-1980 sitcom opening with Larry Haines and Rick Lohman of SFT.
  16. They could do a storyline where Victoria goes out of town on a business trip and is mugged, beaten and left for dead while AH is still in the role. When she arrives at the hospital Heather Tom is back in the role. The doctor attending her is concerned and stays by her bedside on a regular basis. In a later scene the doctor is reminded of a lunch appointment. When they show him next there is a close up of him looking pre-occupied and then when he is asked where's his minds at, the camera pulls back and he is seated at the table with his mother Leslie and Aunt Lorie. He is revealed to be Dr. Brooks Prentiss.
  17. I don't think any of the actors from Y&R's first 10 years were ever submitted for awards, even Jeanne Cooper. A lot of people said Jeanne, Brenda Dickson, Jamie Lyn Bauer, Janice Lynde, and Dorothy Green should have had nominations for their work. I saw some of Dorothy's storyline as Jennifer having the mastectomy. It was heartbreaking and was emmy material.
  18. I agree. They are now a footnote in soap history. The vast majority of today's Y&R audience are either too young or never saw those early days and characters. If you do find long term viewers, most didn't start watching till the mid-late 80's when the show's rating became huge. You'll be hard pressed to find a viewer who was watching in the 70's.
  19. Janice Lynde said in an interview if she had it to do all over again, she would have never left the role of Leslie. Tom Hallick said the same thing about the role of Brad Elliot and said NBC courted him away from CBS and it was a huge mistake. William Gray Espy the original Snapper kind of hinted too that he was so young at the time and had a this thing about being bound to a show long term. Linda Dano said WEG was the same way with Another World. He would come in and after a few month felt stifled being in the same place all the time. When Espy returned in 2003, they said he was at home watching Y&R and saw Jim Houghton's (Greg # 1) name in the writers credits and called him up to chat.
  20. I wish Bill Bell had found a way to keep ties to the Brooks family beyond the first 10 years. It seems like Y&R's first decade is long forgotten besides the Kay/Jill feud. I wish the writers would find a way to tie all 5 decades of the show together by bringing back some of the Brooks/Foster children. Brooks Prentiss should have been brought in when Lorie made an appearance in the early 2000's.
  21. One scene I noticed cut from the wedding was the when the Brooks girls are getting ready and Peggy say's that The Brooks girls are going to be the 4 hottest sisters at the wedding and Chris jokes " I bet the Brooks girls are going be the on 4 sisters at the wedding. They then all agree to get together the same next year to keep in touch. Then the Maestro arrives and Julia comes down and talks with Lorie.
  22. Jerry Douglas flirts with Angie Dickinson on the 70's series Police Woman.
  23. Here is an early TV appearance by Brooke Bundy on Ozzie and Harriet in 1963. She plays a girl that Rick is dating and spills a malt and slams the car door on her dress. Rick sings The Very Thought Of You at the end. At this time Rick had just married his real life Kris (the sister of actor Mark Harmon and Kelly Harmon the Tic Tac girl). Kris would make her debut on O&H shortly after this episode. She was pregnant with Tracy who was born October 63. Since ABC had a morals claus in the Nelson family contracts. The Nelsons placed a full term and healthy baby Tracy in a incubator and claimed she was premature so public wouldn't count back to the wedding. Years later Tracy battled lymphoma in the 80's. I wonder if the incubator incident may have contributed since the early ones were notorious for causing all kinds of health problems.
  24. Here is Randy Hamilton circa 1979 hosting the Nickelodeon show America Goes Bananaz. The guest is some guy named Tod Foster. He appeared in some commercials around this time and had a minor hit called Dancin which he performs during the second act. The first song sounds something like The Partridge Family and the second song Dancin sounds like a Bee Gees knock off with some Rod Stewart thrown in. I googled him and he now sells Audi cars in Florida.
  25. Lee Phillip Bell in the ad for All/Amoco at 23:29. Carla Borelli of Texas/Another world is in the For Brunettes Only/Calm ad.
