I didn't know that he was difficult. I thought the character was a flop and IMO, he read too young to be Amanda's long lost, abusive ex-husband. I agree ASJ had charisma and I do get why he got cast in things. It didn't translate well. I do think Mark Wahlberg was much smarter about his choices as far as roles. ASJ ended up doing dating shows lol and couldn't pull a gig out of Night Shift into GH even though I thought there was story there.

That might be the correct assessment. I always thought they ran lightning speed into Brenda/Jax and the audience reaction wasn't great for Jax dumping Skye. I did forget Jax was paralyzed for half the time lol. But who knows? It's fun to speculate about.

I think Guza was all in on Jax/Brenda in 2002 until people started talking about Jason/Brenda. What could be better than his two favorite characters together at the time? I think the Frons? obsession with Courtney made Guza really annoyed. Jax only entered the picture with Brenda in 2011 when Vanessa called it on her run and they fired Ingo lol. All of a sudden there was something there. Still should have 100% made Alec Jax's kid and I will die on that hill. I don't think a 2003 Brenda baby would have been Jax's. I still think it would probably have been Sonny's. My assumption would be the last kiss Sonny/Brenda had led to more and she was already engaged to Jax and they both dropped her so Jason took the burden on because Jason's our hero.

It's not the most eye rolling thing on GH ever, but if Chase and BLQ just started the adoption process when they said they were and Chase getting demoted or the fact Brook gave a kid up for adoption already put them at risk for adopting in the future led to tension it would be more organic. And give Chase an excuse to sleep with Willow. Being all in on a new baby? 🤷‍♀️. Not dramatic enough, but this is GH. I do think there is more to the story with the mother because of her tattoo they showed when she was giving birth.

Ingo is just a puzzling man to me. He's a weirdo that I don't even think is a citizen and was not claiming religion when he had kids out of wedlock and living with his now wife for years. Also, no judgement @Rocket Man, but I probably couldn't think of a worst recast for Jax. WDV is not a thing no matter how much GH tried to sell us on him. Mesure or the guy that played Wagger would have been better.

It has to be his looks. He wasn't the worst actor on GH or anything, but he isn't a good actor either. I actually don't solely blame him for the Melrose Place debacle because that was just a stupid part. I thought he did the best on Night Shift and am actually surprised he didn't make it over to the main show after. I guess knowing what we know about him now it does make more sense.

Thanks! I thought ASJ did it while on GH. I had no idea he was actually Bergin's successor. I am not sure why everyone thought ASJ was going to be the next star while he was on GH then. It couldn't have been his acting lol although he was insanely hot back then.

I never thought Guza got Sonny/Brenda the way Labine did. He hardly wrote for them as a couple. Most of it was triangle based plots through his runs. Guza prefers his own creations and that was Jax/Brenda and Sonny/Carly. The problem is that I don't think Guza knew what to do with Jax without Brenda while he obviously had more affection for Sonny, Carly, Jason, Brenda and later Dante. That's why it's not surprising Guza would shoot his shot with Jason/Brenda and even Dante/Brenda. If Vanessa had stayed in 2002, I do wonder how that baby story would have turned out. I doubt the show would kill a Brenda baby off. I ponder if they would have moved back to Sonny/Brenda or Jax/Brenda. Jason/Brenda don't feel like endgame to me, but it could have been for Guza. I assume there would have been some Jason/Brenda/Jax/Carly/Sonny partner swapping that would dominate the show for years and years lol. I agree. When it came out that Steve wasn't getting vaxxed my mind immediately went to his juice shilling pyramid scheme lol. That being said, Steve made one statement, left, took a job at Days, didn't burn any major bridges, and waited it out. Ingo decided to make this his entire personality and cause. He'd probably be back too if he shut up. I obviously don't know either man, but it seems like Ingo's shift to MAGA/Anti-Vax nut happened quickly. From all accounts he was well liked for years on GH and seem to be a decent guy until he went right wing.

I don't think there is any danger of Ingo being back on GH or any show unless he moves to God's Network and does some movies lol. I would be shocked if we ever saw Jax again even with a recast. SR was great. I am not sure why he needed to be Jerry. If Guza was hell bent on tying him to Jax he could have easily been a long lost Jax brother or something. Julian Stone's Jerry didn't set the world on fire or anything so a recast was fine in theory. I would never have taken Jerry in such a diabolical direction if you wanted to, say, pair him with Alexis lol. I didn't know Riche and Guza had a difference of opinion of Jerry back then. I do recall Julian Stone's Jerry not jiving exactly with the details Jax gave in the past about him. Jax made him seem a lot more cunning and ruthless but he was a bit of a hapless dope when he turned up.

I think Guza loved, loved, loved Jax/Brenda. That was his pairing idea. Carly and Jax with LW were a happy surprise, but they did tease it in the TB Carly days. I never thought the show had much use for Jax post-Brenda, but he was popular enough to keep on. If Ingo wasn't such a dipshit we'd be talking about how poorly Jax was used through the years. He always was a good utility player and the only character that was seriously right about Sonny because he lived through it.

I separate the character from the actor and I think Jax was a solid character. Ingo might have ruined his own career, but I don't think Jax is off the table in the future once the lawsuits are done and they can find a recast.

Jax and Carly worked for me. He was almost always coming from a good place. With the boys, with Carly, and the showed framed it like he was always jealous of Sonny. Which might be the truth, but I never thought Jax's intentions were ugly or sinister.

They could have made Jagger a model though. He was in campaigns with Brenda with that boxing stuff. Maybe that's too on the nose or something, but ASJ was more believable as a dumb model himbo than an actual cop lol. Thank you! Because I was like the show is clearly erasing ASJ as a Calvin Klein model, which fair. It's not even a narrative point and ASJ is, well, you know. I just remember him getting way more popular during his run on GH due to that and his Janet Jackson video.

I actually did think it was a thing because of the Austin plot as well. I figured I was too young and missed some sort of boxing phenomenon. It's a good way to get guys half dressed I suppose. This is neither here nor there really but I was watching the Caroline/JfK jr. story and they make it seem like the Baywatch guy/Caroline's boyfriend was the next CK model. And I was thinking it was ASJ that succeeded Marky Mark.

Lol. We will definitely never see Ingo again and most likely will never see Jax either.
