Parents that literally weren't together most of her life lol. She didn't even know Curtis was her dad until she was an adult or almost an adult.

Why wouldn't Farah Fath be in the category of easily accepted as Mimi? She was. The first actress appeared in only a few episodes.

I think the whole Kendra thing was tied to Shiloh and Dawn of the Day because everything on the show was back then lol. I remember the name Kiefer Bauer and eyerolled that. The abuse story was a pretty good idea in theory, but it had major flaws. It was way too violent, showing a bloodied and beaten Lexi Ainsworth getting knocked around by a huge man that looked 10 years older than her. Then it made Kristina look bad because she became a liar and accused Ethan to protect Kiefer. And in end it became about Sonny and Luke's pain over the whole situation because Sonny saw his mom get beat up and Sonny might have to kill Ethan lol. That would totally ruin Luke/Sonny's bromance. Then in conclusion Alexis's notoriously bad driving skills were on display when she ran Kiefer over.

Lol! I swear they brought Keifer sister back maybe 10 years after Kiefer died and she was Alexis's fitness trainer with a revenge plot. I don't think the plot lasted more than a few months. Let me see if I can google her name. I want to say it was a K name too. ETA-Kendra. It was in late 2019. She tried poisoning Alexis with protein powder then kidnapped her and tried to run her over with her car. Lucas then accidently killed Kendra by running into her car before she could kill Alexis.- That's from GH wiki. I remember vague details, but the entire plot sounds like a fever dream when I read it.

Sonny shooting Carly in the head is one of the strangest Guza choices ever. I think Pratt was involved too. Whenever it is (rarely) brought up I love the way the show somehow explains it away. It still makes me chuckle. Anyhow, I think Kristina actually getting abused by Kiefer led to her realizing Sonny wasn't that bad. They reconciled after the whole ordeal. Didn't they bring back Kiefer's sister years later? She was out to get Alexis through Pilates or something and then died?

I don't think people hate on the Kristina/Keifer story because of Sonny or the fact he has too many kids. I don't think people really hated the initial Kristina/Keifer plot at all, although I thought it was pretty graphic at times. It eventually went entirely off the rails with Alexis running Keifer down, Kristina blaming Ethan, and Bradley Cole as Keifer's father having a shoot-out in the hospital. I wouldn't say it was anywhere near the worst storyline of that year and I did like Kristina/Ethan.

I don't recall Ava ever interacting with Leo either, but it may have happened when he was younger. I think once Ned adopted him the audience was supposed to forget Julian was his father and I am personally fine with that. I generally don't think Ava needs to reach out and be close with every wayward Jerome child. It's not like Olivia and Julian were anything. I agree about the teens/young adults needing some heat. Joss gets hers, but everyone else is very chaste. The 90's era with Jason, AJ, Brenda, and even Robin seemed much more open to sex and frankly more realistic. The teens on GH have been pretty Puritan for a while though-and if they weren't they got pregnant lol.

I agree Mo seems to get very uncomfortable going outside of normal Sonny stories. I don't think he's faking his issues or being lazy exactly so perhaps bringing someone he's very familiar with like Vanessa might make him more at ease to play that type of story? And obviously that's no diss to Maura West who obviously is wonderful. The Karen/Jagger rehash was too late and strange. There were backstage things happening clearly, but Sonny has mostly admitted to doing what he did to Karen. Jagger was speaking for the victim and that was annoying. It's not his fight or his pain to feel, especially 30 years later (and after their marriage ended because he cheated). To be honest, I would have been fine never seeing Jagger or Karen again and know they lived happily ever after. They were a specific place and time like you said and while you can make room for them there isn't much of a reason to in any other era of the show.

I could see Karen fitting in fine in the Grey's Anatomy era especially with her previous bond to Robin. I guess it's more I can't see a long-term Karen/Jagger pairing on screen. I agree Mo probably doesn't want to delve into Sonny's character flaws that deeply. With the timing of Jagger/Karen's departure and then recast Karen's return there wasn't much of chance. Sonny/Brenda were just beginning and CS and ASJ were out the door. Then when Karen came back she was on PC, obviously, but Mo/Vanessa (at the time) were leaving, so forgiveness in a few scenes was the easiest way to tie it all up. FakeJagger coming back avenging Karen didn't help. Karen, as far as we knew, had long forgiven Sonny and Jagger bringing it up felt like he was projecting his own flaws and regrets on to Sonny. I think there might be a greater story for Sonny if someone like Brenda acknowledged the way Sonny mistreated her and started dating her so young and blah, blah. To me, at this point or any point past like 2005 lol, Sonny's actions towards Karen aren't terribly relevant for the show to deep dive. It's not condoning his behavior, but there isn't the fallout that Lucky and Lulu learning about their mother/father had.

DAYS: November 2025 Discussion Thread
I can't say I like Leo/Javi individually or as a couple, but I have been able to tolerate them since they fostered Baby T. Some of their scenes are really sweet. I like Sonny/Will too. I think they got a bit stale towards the end of Freddie Smith's (run, runs?) and I don't think Tinker and Massey have ever truly established an amazing connection-even if I think Tinker is a good recast. They just appear too sporadically.

I don't think the show would have continued the Karen/Sonny arc too far. I guess if Sonny never met Brenda? But I don't think Sonny would have been long for the show if he didn't. In a hypothetical world where ASJ stayed on as Jagger I could see a Sonny/Brenda/Karen/Jagger quad, I suppose. Jagger/Karen getting a happy ending and leaving made it much easier to sweep under the rug. I obviously don't condone Sonny's behavior, but I really struggle seeing a long term place for Karen or Jagger post-Stone's death. With Sonny talking care of Stone in the way he did I would assume both Karen and Jagger would have come around to him eventually.

I'd probably take an episode from 2012 right now lol. I have to assume Frank would pick them because I don't know who else would. I suppose we will never know, but it's very strange GH won't show an episode before his run.

I've heard the music rights excuse before, but Soapnet used to play the reruns without the original music. The Amazing Grace episode, for example, didn't use Amazing Grace for the ending but stock music. I am sure GH could still do that today or use an episode without popular music. I can understand it being an issue for an entire season or multiple episodes of a show, but not for just one. I wonder who chooses these episodes. Is it Frank? Even Days with it's teeny, tiny shoestring budget pulled out never before seen flashbacks for the 60th with characters no longer on the show.

To this day I still believe she was a placeholder to make things smoother for Martha Madison. There is no way even Days was serious about Charity Rahmer. I still laugh remembering Rahmer practically flirting with John, her father.

GH: November 2025 Discussion Thread
I am sure this has been answered already, but is budget the reason GH shows reruns from 6 months ago only? Is it that expensive to shell out money to the actors for an older episode? Times have changed for ABC Daytime obviously, but they did briefly show reruns in 2010 in lieu of new episodes and showed old episodes on Soapnet all the time. I would actually watch an old Q Thanksgiving episode but have no desire to watch an episode that just happened. It's hard for me to imagine the budget is that bad. And if it is at least go back 5 years to a Thanksgiving theme episode or something. Frank never fires anyone except KeMo, so I am positive they could find an episode from the last decade with most of the current cast lol.

I feel like even that's a disservice to Bill Eckert lol. DT has made the "Black Luke Spencer" comments before. It's obvious he wants to be paired with Genie. Tony Geary was probably being nice to him lol. Most likely DT just thinks highly of himself or somehow thinks that's how his character is actually perceived. The thing is Curtis is nothing like Luke. Even if Curtis was a good character, which he's not, he doesn't have anything in common with the Luke character or even the Robert character. He's not some action/adventure hero-or at least he's not anymore. He has almost no layers or depth, and DT lacks charisma and barely tries. Curtis is mostly a business man that has waffled between two women his entire run. It's almost criminal Curtis has lingered on this show for an entire decade. But, anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everyone lol!!

Yes! That's a big problem. I also go back and forth with the issue that a lot of characters I care about are being dragged into plots I don't care about if that makes sense?

I really like Cynthia Watros's new haircut. Very flattering. I think the show was good today and has been good all week, but I am somehow bored and I am not sure why.

She is. It's like Emma's entire plot got lost and she basically gets no resolution except that Gio and Rocco are getting yelled at lol.

I think those are both good examples. I do believe JB was popular as Vicky. Although I don't know if she got really lucky or was actually good. Her role as Melissa on GH and her off screen antics make me think it was the former.

I thought the scenes between Britt and Jason were well done, so I'll give KT props for that at least. I agree it felt like she was asking too much of him. It's unrealistic to think Jason, of all people, would be 100% committed to anyone at this point and he actually shouldn't have to be when he's just offering help? Britt also has family that would be happy to help her, so it's not as if she's all alone in the world. The whole Dalton murder and Britt/Sidwell connection is fine I suppose, but it feels like the show just scrapped Emma's only story. All the months she spent trying to get in good with Dalton yet she never cracked the case and now he's dead.

Cherie Jimenez as Gabi on Days. I am not sure if Camila Banus was ever super popular, but she led storyline and was on the show for years. Not to veer off topic, but I am also quite fascinated by the Carly situation on GH. I know TB wasn't immediately accepted, while Laura was due to the Bransford situation, but it has to be rare to have such longevity and success with three separate actors in the role. Are there other roles/actors that have achieved that?

I have seen some clips of Catherine Mary Stewart and she seems likeable, if forgettable. I don't think the writing was very strong for Kayla at the time. CMS/Kayla seem to get lost in the shuffle, but she isn't horrible. I don't think Anne Howard ever did have the role. I don't believe the show ever really wanted to give up on Pease and let her take her time and breaks. It eventually became just too much to work around. In the late 90's when PP was making more frequent, short appearances I did think they might bring Kim back more permanently.

Bo went missing during the Raffi Torres story and popped up as RKK. I believe Rinna started in the same year (1992) but they didn't share story for a year or so. I was going to mention MBE as Kayla, but I wasn't sure the first Kayla was popular enough. With Kim, I think Patsy Pease's issues made recasting more an emergency situation than truly taking time to find an acceptable Kim. I did like Ariana Munker as Kim though.

Yeah, I personally liked Drew and I know others did as well. To me it was more of a mystery as to why he was fired rather than Chad being bad. And at least the soap press seemed to pump Duell up from the start. I absolutely hated Carly in general, but I thought Reckell did a good job selling the romance. It got convoluted so early on and by the end Crystal seemed to just sell her scenes with Lawrence/MS for obvious reasons. RKK's Bo was of course fabulous with Billie, I also thought he did really well interacting with his family.
