  1. Wow, another interest rate hike? I know two people who have been looking for a house for well over a year. This will undoubtedly make things worse for them in terms of mortgage rates. First, it was people moving from NYC and snatching up houses with big $$$$, the part of the tri-state area where I live has been the slowest to recover/build up housing stock. At least there’s this,
  2. Oh, I was always under the impression that one of the Thomases leaked it, but I a, just dubious about this story of John Roberts trying to convince Brett Kavanaugh to “save” Roe v. Wade. The Roberts SCOTUS has always seemed to teeter on the edge of disaster.
  3. If Y&R still had Hilary, bringing back Leanna Love could’ve worked seamlessly in having them team up.
  4. It seems like it took several weeks for them to come up with this story that somehow Roberts was trying to convince Kavanaugh to vote to preserve Roe v. Wade. Two conservatives…were ever going to vote to preserve Roe v. Wade?
  5. Wow, I remember Jamea Jackson. This is awesome.
  6. One of myriad reasons why I am adamantly opposed to the selling of these videos. As an artist, I think it’s unethical (sorry y’all) to profit off of someone else’s creative work. Recording someone else’s creative and intellectual property does not (or at least it should not) permit another person who was not directly involved in the creation of that work to profit from it. P&G, I know doesn’t care but they have been completely derelict in their duty to safeguard and manage their intellectual property. That goes for the ridiculous character and couples edits that folks have been putting on the seller’s market for years. Now mind you, I don’t see a problem with YouTube channels streaming episodes, especially seeing that most won’t profit from this (perhaps only if they try to participate in revenue sharing from ads, which I don’t think they are allowed to do as they are not the creators of the original source material). I appreciate that many will put a disclaimer stating that they do not profit from posting these video uploads— that is a display of ethics. My one quibble is the very poor visual quality of most of these videos that are uploaded (my eyes my eyes!) P&G could put a stop to this by hiring a small team of interns (maybe from a film preservation program at a local college/university) to start a PGP/PGN YouTube channel and dumping, er uploading, a bunch of their episodes there. The quality is probably as good as, if not better than what it already out there on the platform, it likely couldn’t be any worse. 10 years ago when SoapClassics digitized episodes and issued box sets, the process required a lot more work and effort. Today the tools are better and faster, easier to use and far more accessible and far less costly. And unless P&G wanted to sell streams or subscriptions to streaming they’d have to digitize for acceptable quality, otherwise, they could upload “as is” similar to what the B&B YouTube channel is doing.
  7. I know more about this than most people and for quite some time so, I am going to 🤐 on this one.
  8. As talented as Anthony Herrera was, it was absolutely ridiculous that the show would resurrect James Stenbeck after Paul put several bullets in him at the very end of the 1980s. There was a reason why it happen in the final quarter of the final year of the 80s. James never should have been brought back as anything other than in nightmares in Paul and or Barbara’s subconscious. It actually might have been interesting if Paul had a recurring dream every anniversary of him shooting his father, or at least the 10th anniversary of when it happened, but ATWT wasn’t about that life by then.
  9. I know I rarely watch anymore but I swear, it’s like anytime I watch even a brief piece of Y&R, Victoria is being attacked by a husband.
  10. Uh, that was my idea. I think the only YouTube channel that would be able to post unbothered is any show’s official YouTube channel.
  11. Elon Musk’s entire brand is just mess mess mess.
  12. It’s very interesting because Netflix lost nearly a million subscribers this year, but you know what type of streaming service is doing very well? Free Ad-Supported Television A.K.A. “FAST”. The Pluto TV and Freevee type streamers. P&G could be doing their own version of FAST and running ads for their own products. They could even run retro commercials on a regular basis and fans would watch. It would be akin to comfort food. Have soap stars film a brief introduction to announce episodes that were really groundbreaking or were a fan favorite. Have fans vote for their favorite episodes beforehand. There are genuine possibilities to make use of the P&G library. Hell, even the music for pivotal scenes, have segments where the musicians talk about how a certain song was used for episodes or characters. Do you think Jermaine Jackson or Billy Ocean will turn down the chance to remind people about their hits? We all have seen an artist’s catalog get reactivated because the music was featured on a show. Who wouldn’t want to hear about Gloria Loring’s creative process and how “Friends and Lovers” came to be?
  13. You mean P&G? Or the collector. Unless episodes are in HD quality, I Don think episodes would sell very well, at least not consistently. This is why B&B is streaming their classic episodes on their own YouTube channel and even there, people often complain about the poor visual quality. By the standards of today, I don’t see many people buying anything less than 1080p quality. The SoapsClassics people understood this, which is why every single DVD that they sold was in such clear visual quality.
  14. OMG, WLIW a PBS channel is replaying Day 8 of the January 6 hearings and just showed the Josh Hawley segment with him raising his fist, immediately followed by him fleeing.
  15. Sheryl Sandberg, whoever is replacing her and Mark Zuckerberg will all be giving depositions in relation to the lawsuit involving the Cambridge Analytica scandal. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/mark-zuckerberg-and-sheryl-sandberg-set-to-be-deposed-about-cambridge-analytica/ar-AAZSd42
  16. Thanks for including me in your post @victoria foxton. If only someone at P&G were as thoughtful as you, thinking of the fans of this show.
  17. This is an Op-Ed but from what I read, not a single lie was told.
  18. The pauses in that Cipillone deposition, Lawd, I thought my iPad had frozen.
  19. Same. From what I read in Spanish language blogs, commentary, it was very harsh. That was when the news of the allegation was originally reported. I haven’t read anything since then though.
  20. Ex-manager and she’s suing Martin, so there’s that. It’s just really tangled and being hit with all these negative allegations with people who have supposedly known him for a long time just paints a unfortunate picture. He’s doing something at the Hollywood Bowl, so for now, there doesn’t seem to be any negative blowback.
  21. I just saw the headline (it’s been a pretty busy day) and didn’t one of Ricky’s managers quit over these allegations, claiming that she was tired of protecting Martin? What was that about? Strange indeed. And makes me wonder whether there may be lasting damage from this since the allegations were so heinous.
  22. With all the rabid antivaxxers out there I knew it was only a matter of time until this happened.
  23. Folks have stopped wearing masks and this is what’s going on now.
