  1. It seems like Kelis’ true beef is with the Neptunes over song credits. If she did indeed get screwed out of song credits, as she contends, she needs to pursue that legally. Her stated contention with Beyoncé is what she perceived as the disrespect between two Black women in the music industry because according to her, Beyoncé didn’t even give her a “heads up” that the song was being released, although she did admit to being sensitive. Let’s not pretend that Beyoncé has never been sued though. Des’ree successfully sued and got an entire album pulled so that Des’ree’s song could be taken off the album before Beyoncé’s album was re-released. Also, speaking of Lemonade, didn’t a visual artist have lawyers issue Beyoncé and her record company a “cease and desist” order because the video used artwork without the artist’s permission? Beyoncé has interpolated other artist’s work, it’s just that very few have done anything about it, probably many have considered it flattering. I did like the concept of Lemonade and I found it amusing how uncomfortable some people were with the album. Admittedly, I do prefer Solange’s work, as an artist, I like when artists take risks and draw on traditions to create something completely different.
  2. My Lord, what is this day? What are these last few days?
  3. That’s some practice session.
  4. Without a doubt, these people are simply awful.
  5. Is AMC trending for anyone else?
  6. @victoria foxton Here’s a good example of what I was talking about. This article talks about a dance piece that full frontal nudity, both men and women, being recalled by another PBS station and only shown in the NYC area. https://www.nytimes.com/1972/02/20/archives/dont-look-now-busby-but-some-of-those-dancers-are-nude.html
  7. I remember PBS showing a LOT of nudity when I was a kid. 😂 Channel 13 was surprisingly explicit, mostly after 8 pm on weekends though.
  8. Okay, this is old school DH but whoever did this has my gratitude because this video had me screaming!😂🤣
  9. Even the states where abortion bans are unlikely to happen need to improve their resources but wow, the states where abortion bans are happening have horrendous numbers. The mortality rates and teenage births are incredibly high.
  10. Every now and then this theme song from their promo pops up in my mind. Do others remember this?
  11. Let’s see if that’s going to happen. 👀 Hopefully they will get it under control.
  12. Too much sake in the karaoke bars. And Japan was showing such discipline until this latest variant.
  13. Journalists focused so much on the Vice President describing herself, including pronouns that no one reported on the actual substance of the meeting.
  14. Kelis is having a moment taking the Neptunes and Beyoncé to task over sampling a song that she sang. Beyoncé is no stranger to these conflicts, so it might not even phase her.
  15. "I just think the timing could not have been worse and it came totally out of the blue," Collins said. Besides conflating the entire issue, this is coming from the same woman who threw her support behind Brett Kavanaugh? Who continues to say nothing about the shady dealings of the Thomases? You’ve got to be kidding, right? https://news.yahoo.com/sen-susan-collins-warns-democrats-014651712.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw&tsrc=twtr I wonder what Susan Collins thinks of her fellow GOP colleagues disrupting critical funding that ailing veterans needed like, yesterday? Which is the more egregious?
  16. All because they want to strike back at Democrats for the recent consensus on two bills, Republicans are willing to make veterans suffer.
  17. ^^Everyone has been trying to decipher that connection.
  18. For the last several weeks I have been thinking of how awful Joe Manchin was and now here comes Susan Collins to remind of how much more awful a human being can be.
  19. Absolutely loved Ms. Alice’s work and often wondered how she had been. May she Rest In Peace.
  20. Not that I want to be in a position to defend Bernie but, from what I read, he seemed to be upset about an earlier draft of the CHIPS bill that didn’t include a provision that would prevent corporations from moving to other countries to produce semiconductors once they got the money. Apparently, a provision was added after that before the bill got final approval by both sides. Though Manchin will talk out of both sides of his mouth and claim that he regularly communicates with Biden, while claiming that Biden had no role in this deal, just what does he believe Chuck Schumer has been doing the entire time? Not keeping Biden in the loop?? Seriously?🙄
  21. Andrew Yang and Christine Todd Whitman launching a political party. Barf.
  22. Wow, if this comes to pass, this would truly be great.
  23. This looks promising but I remain cautiously optimistic until this agreement is signed, sealed and delivered.
