  1. After seeing how the show wrote Susan/kim's feud in the final years..probably best the show didn't focus on lisa and Lucinda as a feud in those final years. I've heard of Karen..all good things. Would she have fit into Marland's Oakdale? Would Diana?
  2. Katherine was an evil character.. and the way the show later portrayed her as some patron of wisdom was sad... because she did kill a man and keep a child from his inheritance. That's why I liked Bell's writing because he kept characters in story bubbles.. but they were so well-written that it never was an issue if some characters never interacted with one another. It's one of the reasons I never could get behind Marland's writing because it seemed like everyone interacted on his shows, even when it wasn't realistic. The early years of B & B were like this as well... but I noticed when Brad Bell took over B & B... that story bubble format went away and it seemed like everyone interacted and knew one another's business... when it wasn't like that before. Same with Y & R.
  3. Gina/Jackie had the most complex relationship... I think it was in season 2 that Chyka correctly surmised that the two were more like a mom/daughter bickering.. which both Gina and Jackie agreed with. Lydia was so dumb yet was funny to watch. She has a lot of interesting Lydiaism.. if you will.
  4. I think having Meg coming to Sunset Beach to kickstart the show was good..but I think had the show run longer than almost 3 years..she would have been cut.
  5. Season 7 was a more successful attempt at fixing the show than season 5 was..imho. Season 7 had a smaller cast, plus more interaction between all the characters like in the earlier seasons. Season 4-6 had too many story bubbles and not enough interaction between the cast. Was it perfect? No, but it was loads better than the previous season.. closer to season 3 quality than season 2 quality (season 2 was the peak with a perfect balance between soap and character study).
  6. The problem for me was that I liked Gary with Abby.... and Val with Ben. In the real world, Ben and Val would have been endgame because the two had more in common (jogging, writing, more equal where neither had to baby the other one, and he had that cool beach house by the ocean).. Gary/Val only had the past as their link... when the two were married, they were as different as night and day.. plus they brought out the dysfunction in one another.
  7. The show did seem to mention Val's missing years with the ex flame and his daughter Cricket, plus the weird story of her being in an ice storm, etc... but I do agree Gary not having another child out there was misfire. I do wonder if Latham and Co hadn't taken over the show.. if Gary/Val would have been endgame or not... since in season 6 when she still thought she was married to Gary.. how he had to tell her that they weren't married any longer.. that the two tried to make it work, but it just didn't work. And that her remembering her relationship/love for Ben was a major plot point, etc.
  8. Didn't grant and Sheila.hook up once a..and she got enraged when she caught him with Michael?
  9. Ny without Bethenny = heaven
  10. Nene was gone 2 seasons..and the show went on..and quite nicely as well. Sometimes it's best not to go back...imho.
  11. I do recall josh and Reva's late 80s house (after Revabend) ended up being Billy and Nadine's house in the early 90s...and didn't it than become the Vanessa's house?
  12. Someone had thought that Diana should have been the one to have been involved with Treadwell (instead of Vanessa) due to her fashion business, etc...and Abby finding out her niece was in danger would have quickly reversed course..and exposed Treadway while keeping her hands clean. Diana was back for a few episodes..why not have made use of he better.
  13. Gretchen wouldn't have been the person to do that..she was kind of ditzy. Since Tamra is gone..no reason for that viper to return.
  14. I do recall Sabrina, when she was with Seth, was always at the Snyder farm. What did end up breaking up Sabrina and Seth?
  15. Haven't the residents bunk together sounds like a Darren Starr idea..but it wasnt explored enough. One good Amanda/Sydney scene...one funny scene with Jane and Allison trying to scheme (2 goody two shoes plotting was funny)..and I think Matt/Jo bunked with no good scenes. Kimberly moving into the building was good..but she had no scenes with Sydney nor Jo..wasted. I will say having Jo/Sydney finally share scenes in the last episodes of season 4 was nice...since they had strong scenes in season 2 together.
  16. I'm all for anything trashing vyle Kyle lol
  17. Egypt in her first run seems like a good grey character, unlike her second return when she was written as a bad guy with no motivation
  18. Allison with Hayley couls have lasted a lot longer than it did. She needed a father figure given what her father had done to her...plus her being Brooke's step mom would have been ripe for story for seasons to come. The change of show runners in season 4 did the most.damage to Brooke since she was newer and not yet established. She would have fit in nicely in the season 5 back to basic approach..imho.
  19. I read somewhere Donna Mills was cast as abby to throw viewers off at Abby's intentions cause she had been known for a playing good girls. In fact, the first 2 or 3 episodes Abby was low key..and than she started revealing her true nature..
  20. reunion performances shouldn't determine if u stay or not. I do think OC will have a new housewife..maybe two for sure. It will be interesting to see if Shannon and Kelly can mend fences..cause Tamra caused issues between them.
  21. As long as Ramona shows us her life like in the early years..she'll be safe
  22. All 3 actresses that played Cecelia are so different from one another..how did that affect the character and what role she played on the show?
  23. Alicia fit.as a grey character during a season 4...and I think she would have done well in season 5 when the show went back to basics. Only time Allison fit in during season 5 was when she worked at D & D for one or two episode..and she quickly knew Craig was shifty.
  24. If you think about it... Shannon (if she returns for season 15) will be the veteran of the franchise with it being her 7th season. The difference between Tamra and Kelly is that I didn't mind watching Tamra work her game.. it was actually interesting and fascinating how she would pull the wool over most people's eyes. Kelly is just not comfortable to watch.. there is something off with her (I view her as a more aggressive and angry version of crazy Kelly from RHONY... who was sick.. but more a harm to herself than other people). I think the dark and toxic will remain with Kelly in the cast...imho.
  25. It did seem like Depriest was finally on the right track in her last six months of her stint..with Sam/Amanda...with the Lisa/Jamie/vicky triangle (shades of Alice/steve/rachel)...plus Cass/Nicole...with Donna finally be written like Donna...and the weird scenes of Jason/Nicole right b4 she left as head writer (watching those scenes made the reveal she killed him 1+ years later make a little more sense..imho).
