The early years of OC till season 6 had a lot of breaking the 4th wall.

Same with gretchen on OC...she did the same thing..but on a smaller scale. Oddly Gretchen is actually doing things in her life, but she burned her bridges. I'm just excited for OC to start and Vicki is demoted

I'm in the minority but NY needs new blood...it's the same thing season after season.

Bethenny such a professional victim.

I think BH would benefit from less group filming..and more of an individual narrative. As a joke, on Twitter I said anytime Kyle annoys you..to take a shot...and peeps responded by saying they'd be drunk in five minutes lol

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Hate to break up your Brandi love... but it came out later that Brandi wasn't truthful about the events of season 3 either... and fessed up she only got a cease and desist letter... and that her friend (who told her the Adrienne bombshell) got served an actual letter from a lawyer. And it turned out that Adrienne was able to do a gag order on Bravo hence why a lot of the story was cut out and Brandi was made to look a victim, when she was anything but. Brandi becoming a main cast member in season 3 was the start of the festering of the franchise of RHOBH.

I think even adding a Barbara type as a friend of... would keep things fresh and not stale on RHONY. Barbara got under Dorinda's skin and it was funny. Plus, she just wrote a fictional novel.. and has a successful construction company. I want to see more of that than these pointless little fights. Vicki needed to be demoted.. She should have been demoted after the season 10 Brooks cancer scam. OC and NJ are the more family oriented shows... and I do think on NJ/OC that there are some genuine friendships (and Andy Cohen has always said he is surprised that the women on the OC stay friends with certain housewives even when no longer on the show.). On OC, I see Shannon/Vicki/Tamra as genuine in the past... I even think Kelly/Shannon became genuine friends... Meghan/Shannon were doing fun things off season with their hubby's... and I even think the two new girls Emily/Gina became friendly because they had kids the same age. With NY, I wish they show more of their real lives.. and not just group gatherings. It's a fun hour, but I'm left feeling unsatisfied.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I decided to binge the last several episodes of RHONY before the reunions. While I agree that the episode flies by and it isn't a chore to watch (like BH has been for awhile)...I kind of feel like like the show doesn't really show the women in their day to day lives anymore... usually it is all the women together with very little individual narrative like in the old days. What I did find refreshing was that Andy was kind of sticking up for Tinsley explaining that she was raised in the south.. and in the old money south, one usually doesn't talk money. And I moved to the south recently, and it is night and day when it comes to how people carry themselves, etc. Also, why does it matter where Tinsley gets her money.. as long as it's legal.. what's the big deal? Bethenny and Dorinda are horrid creatures.. bitter and their ugliness on the inside is seeping out to the surface. Bethenny always tries to make things about herself, while Dorinda is harsh and bitter about anyone that's happy. Is it just a rumor that there might be some shuffling with the cast for next season? I think it's time for a little new blood to be added to make things more interesting.

Oddly, I think Alden did a lot of repair of the Nina character after the whole Ryan situation.. and actually turned Tricia into a fascinating psycho that you couldn't help.. but feel sorry for. However, she lost points with the whole Diane/Ashley/Nikki sperm storyline.... Alden's hard on for Victor was obvious.. and it caused damage to the show in terms of focus that it has never recovered from (she started the focus going away from Jill..imho)

Marland was the worst...his stint was so boring. So I'm surprised replacement writers couldn't improve it.

I can't wait till the Ashley character comes on.. she dominated 1980 especially with the crazy therapist.

A Different World (TV Series)
I do know from watching the Foundations Interview with Debbie that she was excited about Maggie (Tomei) because she said that when she was in college, there were some white students at the college.. and she said she wanted to show the racism and struggles her character would have encountered... but sadly, that was veteoed by people outside of Allen. Do you guys think had Maggie stayed on would Freddie have been created... or was Freddie created to fill a void left by the Maggie character not being there?

Sandra Nelson had a sinister undertone when playing Phyllis.. where I could buy her running down Christine/Paul and hiring goons to beat up Michael Baldwin (back when they were involved romantically). She had a quiet intensity that I thought worked for the character of Phyllis in the late 90s... She was less needy and neurotic.. and more ruthless/evil. Plus, her Phyllis had loads of chemistry with Jack... that I never saw between Michelle Stafford's Phyllis. GT's Phyllis was an even combination of both Stafford's Phyllis and Nelson's Phyllis. She was more controlled with rage seething underneath like Nelson's Phyllis.. but could do the quirky stuff that Stafford's Phyllis had.
