And what's interesting to me is Madeline's sister Courtney played the ultimate mean girl in Romy and Michelle. So it's interesting seeing her play a sweeter character on SB. And I do think Terry Davis relished playing a snooty rich lady after playing 2 ingenues in Edge and AW. And her last soap role wasn't this, but Sunset Beach where she played another dark character during the curses jewel story.

Candiace has a lot of flaws, but her tongue is not one of them. It's partly why Monique went for her because Monique wasn't as quick with her mouth as Candiace is. I'm hoping Karen and Candiace make up truly...it was nice seeing their mom and daughter like interactions. Gizelle going after Robyn? That's so wrong...considering that Robyn actually likes Gizelle unconditionally.

Dr. John and Carolee looked like they were heading for an emotional affair in those final episodes of 1979..with Ashley being introduced. I'm hoping 1980 will one day air because Ashley's story sounded interesting and the actress did get an Emmy nom. Lastly, saw the Greta recast (Gracie Harrison I think ) in a few 1981 episodes. Good actress, wrong part. She would have faired better as a Penny recast..imho.

@CatI'm wondering if maybe the next reunikoreunion was pushed back due to all the backlash? Maybe Bravo was taken aback by the backlash Leah and Eboni have gotten...since I don't think they were expecting it...so they're regrouping? And I think Bravo put out the Ramona rumors...and again she isn't biting. Ramona knows how to play the game...she knows how to survive (and her pinot grigio is awesome). Regarding Nene, she's lucky she doesn't work in the real world because she would have burned all her bridges. Still, I do think Bravo should have treated her and to a lesser extent Vicki with more respect. @Taoboiand I remember Eva on Y & r years ago..claiming they were mean to her...but I think it was because she was acting a diva without any acting talent to back it up. So I was surprised she seemed more mellow on RHOA...maybe she'll bring it on this all star thing (though Sheree would have been better...Vicki vs Sheree anyone?

Maybe Lemay had trouble with writing a middle class family...it seemed he did well with working class and higher class characters. And he didn't know how to make The Matthew's family compelling.

Gacelle has nicely inherited the crown from Kim Richards..in terms of holding Rinna accountable. Some highlights of Kim calling out everyone, especially Rinna. In regards to a season 2 all stars, I hope no repeat people come back. Sonja Karen Gizelle Jennifer Kandi

Dorinda looks great. Maybe time off was all she needed to unwind and pull herself together. If she is coming back next season, don't be surprised if Ramona also does.

I do think Connor McCabe and Eileen's Kelly had potential and chemistry. I suspect had the show been renewed, they would have been the focus of the show. The last week or so of the show quickly tied things up. I strongly suspect that Lily/Rafe/Lisa/Ted would have been done, plus Angela/CC/Sophia. And I think Jodie/Reese/Micah would have continued....with Kelly and Connor being developed.

Mary C channeled Kate Mulgrew's mannerisms and had similar looks. That helped the audience..and just as she started making the character her own..as well as developing her own rapport with Michael Levin, she was dropped. She vs Siobhan would have been interesting..imho.

I think the show made her stay longer because they knew it would be exposure for the show. It was a win win..the show ratings were slowly rising during this time partly due to the press of her, plus it was added exposure to her. Ironically, the last months of her stint were rich in possibilities. She and Jeffrey were well received, and she and Pamela had an interesting mom and daughter in law tension. I do wonder how the story would have gone had she not left in mid 1988.

Every story given to Paulina 1991 to 1999 should have been Nancy's stories. She had ties to Vicky, Jake, Marley, etc.

Nancy could have still been used beyond 1987....even with Amanda being soased since Amanda was a late teen while Nancy was a young adult.

Zero Covid will never be a thing. It will eventually become like the flu once effective treatments are developed and appoved..along with vaccinations. In the soap world, she was popular. She had a popular role on Guiding light playing Annabelle. She had just left GL when she joined SB. So I think she had been hired for her name at the time. And she had signed a 1 year contract when she joined. Plus, with her and Mason being popular at the time, the powers that be were afraid she would want more money so they opted not to renew her contract. Soaps in the 80s were popular so performers had more power to hop to new soaps with the promise of perks, etc.

She was on the Locher room..and she explained she had signed a one year contract..and the production company didn't want to pay her more..so they let her go.

I know that Mary was killed off due to the actress being too expensive, but I wonder if a Mary/Julia/Mason was in the plans...and it was eventually changed to Tori/Julia/Mason?

The main critique fans had when Gillian first came on was that her accent was heavy so they couldn't understand her. Gillian was a character that seemed tailor made for All My Children... unique and full of passion/excitement. So it wasn't a surprise that viewers grew to love her, once they understood what she was all about.

Only thing I didn't agree with was her dislike of Roger Thorpe as Adam Malik. It was a good story and it fit with the character. They seem earnest and are talented...but they needed someone with energy and quirkiness to balance them out. It was she and Pam Long were good as co head writers...and why having Jim Reilly with them helped.

I watched Berengers when it was on YouTube...too many characters and plots to follow. I recall one of the final episodes Donna Dixon (of Bosom Buddies fame) popped up randomly as a new character with a new plot.

@TaoboiIf that cast proves true... then it makes sense why ditzy Kam wasn't shown the door. The three rumored newbies look fierce, so they'll make mince meat of Kam. Eboni is the very picture of my former boss in terms of personality and demeanor. Talked a good game, but if anyone threatened her turf.. she'd knife them in the back. I witnessed that happen numerous times in departments amongst women.. especially against a competent female that they viewed as a threat. Bershan better pay heed.. and keep that armor on especially over her back... to protect against the knife Eboni will try to stab her with.

I think Marland putting Lily and Holden back together in 1990/1 was kind of mistake since the actors didn't have chemistry. However, it made their break up in late 1992 work because their lack of chemistry worked in that case. I do wonder had Rattray stayed even another year..where the story would have gone.
