  1. If I had never seen Rachel Miner I'd probably be OK with her. She's perfectly decent as Michelle, if a bit cold and old for the part.
  2. With Monica and Nik gone I'm not sure what role Emily would serve, although I could see her as a surprise inheritor of Monica's estate and taking over as some "good" core that would clash with Brook Lynn and Tracy. I'd be very happy to see AJ again.
  3. You remember it right. Pat was on many soaps. One I wish I could see some of was her first soap, with Rosemary Prinz, called First Love.
  4. That's Miss Sally, Kyle Sampson's mother. Pat Barry, who played her, did play quasi-Phoebe characters, like Isabelle Alden on Loving, and Brooke's mother, Peg, on AMC.
  5. Thanks again @Maxim That clip hones in on why the homophobia angle with Clint was such a mistake in the way it was executed, in my opinion. You have a very natural reason for him to be resentful of Sloan and jealous of the Carpenters' influence on Viki. The Billy hate on top just seems distracting, and Clint Richie's heart doesn't seem in it. There was a way to frame the story as Clint resenting both Joey and Viki being "taken" from him by outsiders, but that isn't what we are getting here. @Vee great insights as always. I did not realize there was so small a gap between Cain and Andrew. I do wish Jessica had stayed, even another six months, but maybe it's for the best. I wonder if the show may have tried an Andrew/Megan/Cain/Tina quad. I suppose Megan and Cain could have been like a sexier version of Megan and Marco. A long time ago I do remember seeing an SOD or SPW spread on the fire. I can't remember if I ever posted it or not.
  6. Another (partial) episode that I don't think had been up until now. @Soapsuds @rsclassicfanforever
  7. @P.J. @DeeVee @Soapsuds @alwaysAMC Or any others who'd been watching the uploads in order over the last few months - I looked at Spauldingfield and I didn't see this one up. Someone just posted it. Has ads too. 9/11/85.
  8. Jonathan/Tammy was real incest, although Tammy didn't know that at first. Rick and Blake didn't bother me as by the time I started watching the show had done nothing with any sibling relationship between them, but the story was pointless in the long run.
  9. Sadly, this was a Michelle and Bill I had no interest in (although Cosgrove was OK). I did enjoy Cassie/Danny almost being paired around this time. I had a lot of issues with early/middle 2002 but the show was improving by the end of the year.
  10. Thanks @Paul Raven A shame radio was completely gutted not long after this point. You have probably already shared this and I missed it, but do you know if Right to Happiness was ever considered for TV? Seems like it was one of the few of the big radio stalwarts that wasn't (some like Ma Perkins, Mary Noble or Stella Dallas would have clearly not translated).
  11. I think you could play it where he loves her, but the idea of her waking up and the reality clashed very hard. But the writing hasn't bothered.
  12. I never really got a sense they were going for Dante/Brook Lynn, even though it was a story I felt would have written itself. Brook Lynn falling in love with the idea of the life she never had with Dante and Gio, and this being fueled by her feud with Lulu, leading her to scheme as Chase feels more and more left out. For as much as Frank may favor Amanda Setton, he doesn't really do anything near as interesting with the character as he could. I can actually see where Rocco is coming from if the writing supported it more. Lulu was out of his life for half a decade. When she returned, she was focused on her other child, then on her hatred of Brook Lynn, not him. His other mother figure, Sam, died unexpectedly not even a year ago. Wanting to be a part of this ridiculous world of Britt and Obrecht and their family tree could interest him, especially as he has already grown up with a very messy dynamic with Sonny and his many children and grandchildren - he's already been trained to be in this type of world.
  13. Congrats to Michelle Hurd (ex-AW), now Secretary-Treasurer at SAG. https://deadline.com/2025/09/sean-astin-elected-sag-aftra-president-1236530416/
  14. Thanks @alwaysAMC The thread has gone so quickly I have missed some of your recaps, but I always appreciate reading them. I remember how shocked I was when Abby shot Roy. A delirious, maybe distasteful story, but that moment was very well executed. Amy Ecklund was superb. I'd forgotten about the sleazy beat with Ben allowing Dinah to hit on him. He was just so trashy, I couldn't help enjoying him. This is also when Dinah becomes so horrible I start to enjoy her, as Wendy Moniz finally got material she could play.
  15. Thanks @Maxim such perfect music.
  16. I know that Passions, like DAYS, and, frankly, pretty much all of daytime by 2007, had become extremely dark, but this scene is disturbing mainly for how casual it is meant to be, just a reminder of how thoroughly corroded Harmony was by this time. A pathetic, broken Vince throwing himself at Spike, and we actually see a kiss (maybe they got it through because the kiss was rejected). What startled me the most was Spike saying he does not have sex with men...UNLESS you pay him and then mentioning the last time he did it. The guy who plays Spike reminds me so much of a Sweathog. Do you think JER was a Welcome Back, Kotter fan and that's why he lasted so long? Or maybe a big Warriors fan? He gets such insane dialogue in some of those clips. Nonstop bigotry and crassness. In one he calls Noah a bum, Jessica a whore, and doesn't know how Sam didn't put a gun to his head.
  17. Thanks @slick jones I think some of the Polly entries are duplicated. I never knew she was on Search. I read that she helped Dustin figure out how to play Tootsie. I'm glad Doris Belack got a part, but I wish Polly had too.
  18. Here's an interview with Judi about why she left GL. https://www.angelfire.com/tv2/jelonline/press/87sod_judievans.html
  19. Thanks again @Maxim I remember when I would read OLTL boards in the late '90s some fans would say Clint was controlling and abusive. I never really get that vibe most of the time but that was the case by this point.
  20. I'm not sure they are getting enough attention to cause a shakeup at B&B, but I would be glad if that's the case. I was going to say Y&R might get involved too but I guess they count Mariah and Tessa.
  21. This is the show with serial killers and serial rapists as romantic leads, so maybe it's intended as an honor.
