  1. Thank you again for your hard work and detailed notes. This is a wonderful resource that we don't deserve. I wonder how far into 1995 Ellen appeared. I was watching at the time but don't remember a lot of this. I loved the lawsuit story which brought in so many characters.
  2. Oh. That's a shame. I wonder why they didn't consider asking Andrea. Or even Tammy Taylor.

  4. Were they trying for Lilibet or Andrea? I think they should have just hired a new actress...it wouldn't have had to have been like the fiasco in 2009, one of the worst soap stories of all time.
  5. I think this may have already been asked, especially around the time of the hideous Patty story a few years ago, but how close was Y&R to actually bringing Patty back in 1996? Did plans fall through with one of the old Pattys? Also, what was Patty like when Tammy Taylor played her? Was she just a rarely seen kid sister?
  6. A Soap Opera Magazine item from April 1994 has GL's casting person Jimmy Bohr talking about when Leonard Stabb had been cast as Hart. They were very fond of one of the runners-up, David Case, and brought him back for a small role (according to IMDB he did some acting/directing up to 2007). Another runner-up was Shawn Christian, who would soon be cast as Mike Kasnoff on ATWT.
  7. There was some talk here of Haila's passing, and links to some articles. If there are any actors you want to see articles on let me know and I'll try to post some. In the Daytime TV magazines from the early 70's they mention every few months, it seems, that Marjorie Gateson was still recovering, and her role was being held. Then over time they said she still hadn't regained her speech to where it had been before the stroke. I guess that's why they recast. They kept asking people to write her letters to show her how they cared about her. I hope that the letters helped her in some way.
  8. Just for completion's sake http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQOdGvmeNQo
  9. Oh I remember Jeremy. I just didn't remember the story of Hal and Tom warring over him. I'm surprised Tom would defend him so much...I guess he was a proxy for Adam. The actor who played Jeremy wanted to leave so he could finish his education. I was sorry to see him go - I think it was around Thanksgiving or Christmas 1995. He had a certain soulful quality which most of ATWT's junior leading men did not have. I still don't care to remember Ryder, or Eddie Man. It didn't get better until poor misused Craig Lawlor Adam, and then years later, Jesse Soffer's Will.
  10. Thanks. I don't remember the stuff with Jeremy at all. I wish he'd stayed around. I'm surprised Tom was so on his side. It's not in character for Tom.
  11. Who is this boy with Marlena? Whenever I see this Mary I wonder why they cast an actress who was so old for the role.
  12. Thanks for telling me about the 1964 article. I will have to look for it. You're right that this was on the edge of a big change in society. I'm surprised at how well they mix the two here. It's a shame soaps don't know how to do this now. I guess you heard that Haila Stoddard passed away in February. I didn't realize until I was reading some magazines that they eventually recast Aunt Grace. Did that bother you, or you didn't notice?
  13. I love this bit with Marcy. She's so unique to anything on ATWT in this era. I wish she'd stayed around.
  14. Yes he's good. I get caught up in his story, especially with the strange discussions he has with Rocket and the journalist or drug counselor. That guy is an interesting character too. Do you remember him? Apparently he was interested in Susan? All of this seems so daring for soaps at the time. Do you remember anything of Donna Mills or was she on when you weren't watching?
  15. Thanks for reading. I have a few other bits and pieces like this which aren't really full interviews, but I will type them up or post them when I can. Jane is such a fascinating person. It will be great if we see Bobbie or Alan again. I'd like to see Lesley too but then I will be surprised if we see anyone.
  16. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. I'm always finding SS articles but end up being too lazy to post them. If/when I do, then I can PM you if you want to read them. It was interesting to me how Amy seemed to be such a central heroine even at such a young age. The show was ahead of its time in that way. When I read interviews with Jada around the time she returned in 1973 she seemed to be very outspoken and free and so on. Did that translate in her work onscreen? One thing I really liked in the 1967 episode was the casual way they worked in prayer, without seeming heavy-handed.
  17. June 23, 1992 Soap Opera Magazine. Sorry, these are tough to scan for some reason.
  18. This being Father's Day, it was kind of surprising that I was looking through some magazines and ended up finding this. I decided to post. It's a June 1992 Soap Opera Magazine question about when you began to see your father as a friend and not just a parental figure.
  19. May 5, 1992 Soap Opera Magazine.
  20. Thanks for typing that up. I wish we could see some of these stories. That's interesting about how management forced the story to become more safe. Who was the blonde and blue eyed guy?
  21. I'm so glad you got to see this. I knew you hadn't been here much this year so I wasn't sure you were still able to get e-mails. As soon as I saw this on Youtube I knew you'd want to watch. You're right, the organ music is effective. The theme is also very soothing and draws you in. I like how understated the wardrobe is and the emotions too - it seems so adult; people are actually having conversations. Was Amy married to Nic Coster at this time? I felt strongly about the guy who was hooked on heroin. I wonder what happened to him.
  22. Really good episode up from 1967 (thanks to saynotoursoap) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJArYXbzPXo&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
  23. New episode up! Thank you to saynotoursoap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUuu8aWQkGg
  24. Thanks. Was one of Cruz's relatives in the story about Hayley being run over? I thought she might have been the girl who was backhanded by her boyfriend/the killer. I was also going to ask - if I already have my apologies, I forget these things - what you thought of Courtney Capwell. All I generally know of her or reaction to her was someone writing a letter to Diva Von Dish saying she and her story and relationship were boring and cliched.
  25. I wish I could see Savage. She sounds interesting, and quite different from Christine. It also seems like she and Clay had more of a grand passion type of love than they did when Christine was in the role. Did you know Savage was only 13 months older than the last guy who played Rick Alden?
