People always blame GL's ratings on the fact it does not air at the same time in all markets. But as stated before that does not hold. None of the shows air at the same time in all markets. I know that Days alone airs at various times in several markets - even here in my market airing opposite GL and GH. And in some markets (parts of California or the West Coast) it airs opposite OLTL and B&B.

I think the 3 ABC shows are the only ones that have a steady air time throughout the country. All the CBS and both NBC shows air at different times throughout the country.

Here in TN where I live ATWT airs at 4:00 EST/3:00 CST and does not air opposite any other soap operas.

So I don't think that has much to do with GL's ratings. Here in our market GL's competition is what hurts the most. It is consistenly beaten by GH and Days.

FIRE FRONS, Anne Sweeney then FIRE VALENTINI, then HIGLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting ABC took a drive after the viewers found out what Frons did to Starr Jones. I was NEVER a Starr Jones fan until now! Top it off I dislike everything AMC! Babe makes me sick! JR is acting like a wuss! Dixie is PODDixie. I sick of Ryan interfering with Kendall's relationship with Zack.

Now on to OLTL...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRINGE and PuffNStuff are VOMIT INDUCING AND EYE BLEEDERS! No one wants to see Evangeline look like a fool with steroid Vega boy. No words for PuffNStuff, if I'm not mistaken they didn't work 3 years ago either. Dorian is with Clint instead of David and Vicki. I'm sick of the Jessica story line, Claudia, goodness! ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is NOTHING good on this show.

Okay last, GH! Soiled sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want a Liason romance not a friendship. They killed Justus! All the African-Americans are upset about that one. ;)

FIRE FRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is amoral and subhuman. He cares about no one but himself.

With all the calls for Brian Frons to get his walking papers, I thought I'd weigh in...

At least for the foreseeable future, I would bet that Mr. Frons is safe. For starters, he appears to have the support of his bosses, such as Disney-ABC TV Group Pres. Anne Sweeney, who spoke of him in glowing terms when he was promoted in May.

Remember, that Frons controls more than ABC's three soaps. As president of Disney-ABC Daytime TV Group, Mr. Frons also oversees "The View", the cable channel SOAPNet and Buena Vista Productions, which produces such fare as the Meredith Vieira-hosted "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire". So, one or several bad weeks in the ratings for the ABC soaps isn't likely to send ABC executives into a panic and cause them to fire him.

Although unrelated, Mr. Frons was no doubt one of many executives who decided against renewing Star Jones Reynolds' contract on "The View". Mr. Frons likely had the support of Ms. Sweeney and others, such as "View" producer Bill Geddie and creator Barbara Walters before finalizing the decision.

Having said that, if the ABC Daytime line-up continues to falter on a consistent basis and Mr. Frons appears unable/unwilling to correct the problem, then ABC executives will have a clear shot to replace him with someone else.

I don't watch GH anymore, so I wouldn't care. Reilly could come in and turn the show into a rip-off of Passions, and it would still be more entertaining than the weekly mafia shoot-outs and nasty couples having sex that we're used to. GH has the talent...it just gets wasted so that we can watch Sonny's bi-polar disorder for the billionth time.

Frons is the death of ABC Daytime. He's taken wonderful soaps like AMC, OLTL, GH, and even a talk show like The View, and made them all into garbage.

I don't know how GH's ratings will do. There isn't another big sweep month until Nov, and w/ Laura's return not scheduled until Oct., their ratings could plummet and not be able to recover. Nonetheless, I think the show will find a way to rebound...it always does. Just watch...next week it will be pulling a 2.9.

Wasnt OLTL and GH preempted last Friday?? Could that possibly explain the extra low ratings for that day???

OLTL never gets a cover... I just had to point that out. I can't remember the last time that SOD or SOW gave the show anything.

WOW to GH.

Nice to see AMC holding steady among all the falls. It isn't perfect but I really think the Madden storyline is good and grabbing people's attention. Hopefully ratings won't fall too bad next week with 4th of July festivities. Madden died that week and Colby was introduced - along with Josh going to all the suspects. Hopefully they can stay steady with all that.

Does anyone know if traditionally ratings go up or down over July 4th???
