AMC: Sarah Michelle Gellar is a fan

In the new Soap Opera Digest there's a quote from Eva LaRue and she says:

"Sarah Michelle Gellar still watches every single day. She was an AMC fan before she did the show, and the second she left, even when she was doing Buffy, she would watch it via satellite from her trailer. She would call me and be like, 'I can't believe So-and-so is doing that!" Eva said she can't believe that Sarah has time to watch the show.

Eva herself says she still tunes in at least once a week as well.

I think that if you're a soap fan, and you end up on one, you'll be drawn to watch at least every so often, just to see what's going on. Or perhaps, just to see how much it's been screwed up since you left.

I read in one of the mags a long time ago that she sent Alicia a big bouquet of flowers and was really sweet and supportive of her playing Kendall. Also that she is doing a great job as Kendall.

I love SMG :) haha - Love that even with her hectic schedule she always makes time for her AMC. Sounds like me...haha.

I find that rather odd - don't she and Susan Lucci hate each other? It seems strange that you watch someone on TV everyday who you use to work with and can't stand.

Her brush with La Lucci may have been a negative experience, but SMG apparently made lots of friends while on the set -- especially ELR and Kelly Ripa. Plus if she's been a lifelong fan, it stands to reason that she might have lingering attachments to watching the show, even if she hates one person on it.

I've always been an SMG fan, but I am even more so now that I've heard that story of her sending flowers to welcome Alicia Minshew to the role of Kendall. That is class.

Well that may be but I personally would not be able to watch someone who I "hated"! Working with someone who has made your life miserable (whether it was by your own doing or just plain personality clash) would not make you want to revisit that. But anyways..... ;)

What was the problem between La Lucci and SMG? Details anyone?

Maybe she FFs through all the Erica scenes...

I wanna know the gossip on this one too! haha

Its not hard... I usually do it! :P (IMO, 80% of her scenes are very unpleasent, writing wise of course.)

For as much as I loved Buffy, I always heard SMG was the instigator at AMC, not Lucci, which is the obvious conclusion. SMG was supposed to have been really a handful for Susan and some others, but she was very loved by the Callahans and any number of others as well. Though I don't like a lot of things about the actress personally, I admire her work and her dedication to watching the show years later.

SMG made friends easily with the "young girls" clique...Sydney Penny, Eva LaRue, Kelly Ripa, etc.

Yeah, SMG started the [!@#$%^&*] with Lucci. But she was what? 16 at the time? She was an immature little girl who pissed off a mature professional. Happens all the time in life. It was 11-12 years ago already. I'm sure everyone has moved on.

FYI, when Entertainment Weekly did an "All About Eve" story, speculating/theorizing that perhaps SL was jealous of SMG's success and buzz which contributed to the tension between them, both Felicia Behr and McTavish wrote in and defended Lucci to the core. They didn't say a word about SMG.

Yeah, what Britney said. Sydney Penny who SMG was tight with back then even said it was coming from Sarah more. Their was a click going on with the younger girls and Sarah was being immature about it (behavior I think that may have started after an initial "blow-up" between SL/SMG). Sarah was just a kid back then, 15-17, so people do grow up and all. Michael Logan was being a total jerk about it though in TV Guide, adding fuel to the fire and to SMG's ego at the time also, probably. That's not saying she was a bad kid at all, I think that just may have escalated from what was probably minor misunderstandings.

It all started when Susan walked in on SMG imitating her in the mirror. Then Susan took scissors and started chopping off Sarah's hair.
