the character? or how the actor is portraying the character?

cause i have a real hard time ‘liking’ a character who murders.

I don't mind a good villain, which sometimes has to include murder, but generally I'm more into how the actress is playing the character. She's doing a great job.

Yes, Joey knows that Heather is the Impaler. She directly told him this. This comes back to two issues I have with the show. One is the lack of showing and the constant telling us what happened. Had

There is nothing that screams classic, pre-80’s soap to me about how the stories are told, paced, and executed on this show. The assertion that viewers watching somehow can’t appreciate that type of s

I think that Heather told Joey that she was the Impaler in her introduction episodes when he assumed she was working for the Impaler and she gleefully told him that she was the Impaler.

-- So Naomi ate the sandwich Hayley poisoned and....nothing? Just what kind of poison is she using? Why have Naomi eat the sandwich in the first place?

-- And Hayley is feeding ANOTHER smoothie to Bill. And he collapses again. JFC.

-- Bill is going to be fine. Otherwise, why have Leslie visit Hayley and have that conversation?

-- Joey looks so absurd and pathetic in his leather sports jacket.

-- Heather switched out the SIM card on her phone. Unlike most soap characters, I guess Heather doesn't have an iPhone. The SIM cards on those are eSIM -- electronic, not physical.

-- Vanessa poured her heart out to Heather about Doug. Yeah, I guess Vanessa is dumb enough to do that. If we're supposed to feel sorry for Vanessa, it's a fail for me. I'm not feeling it.

-- Heather is supposed to be some brilliant underworld mob boss, but she just comes off as unhinged to me. She's making so many connections with people in town that it's just ridiculous. Does she not have anyone who can do ANY of her dirty work?

-- The only reason for Ted to meet Shanice's brothers is if Leslie somehow screws everything up. Otherwise, I don't care.

June was talking way too much. As long as she was on the street you'd think she'd be more cautious about gossiping to just anyone.

If Hayley needs an alibi for her poisoning scheme, Leslie gave her one today. Bill collapsing right after Leslie left makes her the perfect suspect.

I knew that Heather would figure out that Joey killed Doug. That is her ticket to staying in town and doing whatever she wants.

June is a busybody that doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut, though so far, Heather has appeared to be friendly and unassuming (which makes sense why Ashley J was selected because she could be convincing as a the nice person that is hiding someone sadistic and unhinged beneath the nice exterior).

SPS trying to befriend Hayley yet again better lead to something like Hayley framing SPS for Bill's poisoning. At the same time, let's see SPS and Heather share a scene.. that would be interesting.

In regards to the almost year long Hayley poisoning plot, I remember the late Douglas Marland saying that the first lesson he learned when becoming a head writer on a soap was determining when to kill/end a story that isn't work quickly. Obviously an outsider needs to come into the writing room and perhaps teach MVJ/Thomson how to kill/end a story that has gone on far too long.

of course, back in the day, soaps were taped 2 weeks ahead of air — sometimes 4 — not 4 months!

Thoughts:

  • Damn. If only I looked as refreshed as Dani does when I first wake up.

  • Hayley, you dumb bitch, it is not "done done". Kicking him twice, with little intent, does not mean he is dead. Dumb broad. Bill is not going down that easily.

  • Unfortunately, Chelsea, this is the name of the game in your business. Those kinds of grab headlines exist. No need to act as if the world is crumbling.

  • Deanna is about to put on a show for the couple at the table near her. And it will be fun, fun, fun.

  • Oh s**t! How much did Vanessa just overhear?! I am kind of excited about this, honestly.

  • Ugh. Not it being Deanna's text message. I was hoping that Vanessa overheard Heather's conversation with Joey.

  • Not Douglas' number already being given to someone else. Damn. The phone company moved fast.

  • Not those K-pop girlies. Yes, they can be annoying. One of the most annoying fanbases, actually.

  • Not the poor housekeeper losing their job because Dana came into their home. C'mon, give the housekeeper a second chance. Just make sure they know not to allow Dana in. That seems more fair.

  • Turning up with her husband? Sure, Chelsea. That is exactly where Dani's mind is right now.

  • Of course Hayley is bullheaded about this situation. She is going to lose to Dani and she is not going to get the payout; she thinks she is from Bill. She will be lucky to walk away, period.

  • Oh damn... the champagne showing up?! Wow... Heather is working her miracle.

  • So, Heather is setting her sights on Ted now? Interesting.

  • Deanna, sweetheart, calm down. Vanessa is not erasing Douglas. How was she supposed to know that you called to hear his voicemail? You never told her before now.

  • Yes, Hayley, you dodged Randy... but you kept the f**king security cameras up on your iPad, you dumb broad.

  • Vanessa, you have no idea how much help Deanna actually needs, and it goes beyond managing her grief.

Notes:

  • So happy Montgomery got a second episode to continue on the stories they first laid out from Thursday's episode. The consistency between the episodes feels great.

  • Love that their spare hotel bedroom set is back (and remodeled again). It looks so lush and comfortable.

  • The graphic design team, who created that news popup from Chelsea's newsfeed, was very well done and felt realistic. More unique touches that this soap excels at.

  • Disappointed that more than half of the episode was missed due to news coverage. Cannot wait for 5pm to roll around so I can watch.

Shanice's brothers are fine especially that second one. Can we have one of them for Kat and the other for Martin? LOL

How long is the Hayley poisoning Bill storyline going to go on??? It’s been months with ZERO movement. BTG has many problems they are not addressing.

  • Member

Can't believe half the episode was interrupted by some trial that people can follow on cable or their phones, but whatever. I'll watch the second half later tonight.

Anyone know if BTG will air on Monday? I know they typically don't do holidays, so preparing for no new episode.

So Shanice's brothers are showing up. I really don't think they need any more faces on this show at the moment. So many characters are on already with seemingly nothing to do. The only exception I would make is bringing on Luke Hawthorne since he would probably be a potential love interest for Kat.

months?! more than a year! and yes, there are many problems — and even if the show has begun addressing them, it will be who know now many months before anything shows up on the screen.

Monday's show is a repeat.

I agree. Storylines aren't moving or ended, while they start new ones. The Ted/Shanice love affair isn't even believable at this point, and now we're getting a stereotyped story of angry brothers who have to protect their sister. GMAB.

Shanice is not 16. At her age, the protective brother thing is a joke. We're getting scenes, not stories.
