"And ol' man Leo, he just keeps rollin' along..."

I never thought I’d miss the days when older characters were pushed aside in favor of younger ones

Yep I said on Twitter and yet they keep GR's pointless character

Makes you wonder what he has on whom.

SOD: "Soap Opera Digest can confirm the news, first reported by The Daily Mail"

tvinsider said the same "The story of the cast changes first appeared in the Daily Mail."

Why is the Daily Mail breaking this news?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-15458987/Days-Lives-peacock-nbc-carson-boatman-raven-bowens.html

‘It was a New Year bloodbath at Days of Our Lives this month as the cast returned from a Christmas hiatus,’ an insider told the Daily Mail.

‘Four cast members were immediately let go. Carson Boatman, Raven Bowens, Ashley Puzemis and Leo Howard were given their walking papers in a shock move as soon as the show resumed taping after the holidays.

‘Days decided they needed to switch things up. All four actors were let go last week within a day of getting back from the show’s holiday hiatus. They were totally blindsided, especially Carson who was in the middle of renegotiating a new contract.’

Carson and Raven are good actors and their characters have been good for the show. I'm surprised they are being let go. I agree that Carson would be an easy recast for RJ on B&B @dragonflies

The other two...I have not enjoyed.

I can't say it's a horrible decision to write out Tate and Holly (I'd actually go one further and rest Brady as well), but getting rid of Johnny and Chanel is a very stupid idea. Johnny is a key character for EJ if you want to have stories for EJ beyond interchangeable feuds and getting his dick out. And Chanel was a likeable presence who wasn't related to 80% of the canvas and was a believable partner for Johnny. She also added diversity which didn't feel like tokenism.

And if any casting choices are made on whether the men are good looking, Boatman was one of the better men on the show in that department.

Clearly Greg Rikaart has a lot of connections, as shown by his getting that podcast, but I still don't know why RSW is still there. His popular character left the show years ago and he's just there like a bad smell, a sneering mannequin. There are 3-4 men on the show who fill that role better than he can, and several of them can even act.

She should go to GH as nüTrina, and reset the role. And cast cuts needed to be made; cutting four at once, especially in that generation, is giving me 2012 when Matthew Ashford, Sarah Joy Brown, Christie Clark, and Patrick Muldoon were all cut at once.

GH isn't interested in black characters having major roles.

Well, they damn well should be. Ditch the Ashfords, rebuild the Wards. That's how it should be at that soap.

Someone leaked it to them, knowing it would get printed. Soap outlets, including SON, are considered cannon fodder when it comes to breaking news like this; otherwise, we lose access.

The full DAYS character name is Chanel Dupree (DiMera).
Just send her over to Fairmont Crest at BTG with the other Duprees!

I'd keep the Ashfords, but I'd like to see the Wards back too.

Between the writer having an unnatural crush on him and his clear alliance to others on the set, that is likely why he is being kept around. But yes, he should have been out YEARS ago.

Nah. The Ashfords can go. Tajh Bellow could have easily been Tommy "TJ" Hardy Jnr, too. And that would have given Elizabeth a family member with genuine history on the canvas.
