Hayley wants to be on equal footing with Dani and that means having children. Plus, a child means she can secure money even if the marriage doesn't last.

OK but it's not like she has been trying for months with no results. Unless it's revealed that she knew going into the marriage she couldn't have kids.

Hayley's character is a bit of a blank. She hasn't been presented as a social climber to any great extent and she doesn't have anyone close to her that she could talk to and provide some insights to her motives.

I still think it would have been interesting if someone inside the Dupree circle had been more sympathetic to her.

Hayley's motive from an outside perspective is unclear, especially when Bill has done nothing to make Hayley feel insecure in their relationship. In fact, he has proven that Dani is nothing to him in front of Hayley more than once. As a few of you mentioned, it doesn't help that Hayley has no one to talk to and give us insights to her internal dialogue and workings.

There have been moments where we can interpret that Hayley is interested in a come up like when she whined about not being accepted in the country club and we have seen similar moments of jealousy when Bill and Dani have talked and Hayley shoots her death glare. However, these are very small instances to have pushed Hayley to fake a whole pregnancy. I could understand had things happened or at least appeared to be reigniting between Dani and Bill, but at this point it seems pretty poor foresight and heavy risk to try and pull a stunt like this.

Her need to be accepted by the country club crowd does indicate a bit of a desire to social climb, but otherwise it hasn't been focused on. At this point the writers are trying to jump start her character after months of standard dialogue and conversations.

At this point I am not understanding the Hayley pregnancy story-why is she doing this?

It's not like Bill was growing away from her-they are newlyweds and he has constantly supported her. And he was not pressuring her for a child.

That sort of story usually occurs when a vixen has trapped a guy with a pregnancy-either a lie or she loses the baby.

And I would have liked to see Bill with a cane for a little longer -it was a good character prop and reminder of his stroke

I wonder if Hayley is slowly poisoning Bill to get his money/insurance?  Remember he had the stroke right after she gave him that bottle of Gatorade.  I just can’t figure out what she’s up to so far.  Dani is 💯percent correct about her.  And Ashley knows she is a fake, too!

I was thinking that maybe 2 of the lead stories -Bill/Hayley and Martin's accident would have been better told onscreen in the opening weeks.

The first Friday reveal- Bill/Hayley are having an affair. Or Dani finding out .We would then see the drama of everyone finding out -the confrontations etc

And Martin/Vernon driving home and the ambush occurring- the tension as they decide to go coverup etc. Much more involving than hearing about it 2nd hand,

What do you think?

While I liked what I've seen on screen so far, I admit that I really like whoever had that very detailed synopsis of how they felt it should have gone down as well that followed a good direction that I could have seen go on for months as well.

Cuz as is, I'm starting to feel that...just like Martin's Secret was stalled/pushed back until the last month or so...that is now what appears to be happening with the SilkPress storyline (the stalling/pushback) and I don't like it. I would rather have a clear A story with other stories circling it rather than No A story but a series of stories because someone would rather tell the A story I like less. But I'm bias in terms of the A stories.

There was a brief period where the A stories flowed and rotated nicely between each other (and didn't feel like any hint of stalling) and then there were the other B/C plots. I wish it was more like that.

Do we think the show is going to give up on Dani being an alcoholic? I feel like they've cut way back on that in the last couple months.

I wouldn't mind it if they took the long-term approach with that to be honest. They've already shown us that she has dysfunctional coping mechanisms, but I don't think they need to go further than that right now (do we really want to see Dani in rehab at this point?).

Too many soaps do the whole "character goes on a bender and then they're in AA". I'd rather let it stew for a bit.

I agree that this doesn't make sense for her to fake a pregnancy at this point. It seems rather... pointless? We haven't seen her and Bill attempt to get pregnant or know of any medical issue for her preventing having children... also, what is she even planning to do? Fake a pregnancy for nine months (increasingly risking everything) and stealing a baby?

I guess it's time like this when JERs endless character monologues would be useful for Hayley, because I don't get it and I suspect the explanation won't be great either.

I kind of like this idea because at least it would make some sort of sense, though she still needs that baby to make it work. Again, she and Bill haven't really tried, nor have we had any discussions where he absolutely does not want to be a father again.

I’m guessing that Alison is going to try and undermine or sabotage Madison professionally or do something that causes her to leave?

But yes, Chelsea is coming across as… let’s say naive, to be polite 🤦‍♂️

Steffy Forrester and her blink-and-you-missed-it, Emmy-bait drug addiction storyline on B&B, for one. Would be good for MVJ not to emulate her former boss.

I view Dani and her drinking to be more along the line of Jill Abbott (of Y & R fame) and her drinking.   There were years where Jill would drink a bit more then usual, but would pull back once things calmed down... so I could see the show doing something along those lines for Dani.

Unpopular opinion, but I liked yesterdays episode a bit better than  Monday's episode because there was focus on multiple stories vs the more B & B type of approach that Monday's episode had (which was too focused on the Martin fall out).

MVJ and co need to understand that what seems to work, or not work, for B & B won't work for BTG for the simple reason that one soap is 30 minutes long and the other soap is 60 minutes

Bill wants continuous intel on his daughters Chelsea and Naomi, and he ordered Tomas to get the intel on them.  Tomas agreed to do this.

At this point, is Tomas still dating Kat because he's interested in *her* ? Or is it just to get intel on Kat's cousins for Bill?

(I have come to dislike both Tomas and Kat, so I don't really care.  Just wondering.)
