A good episode, but that cliffhanger was so lackluster.

I hate to say this. Bill works best as entangled with the Duprees in some capacity. Hayley is a non-factor to me. They could drop her today, I  wouldn't care.

• So this stroke is changing how Dani is feeling? Hmm... interesting.
• Bill wants an apology for Hayley? Good on Vernon for telling that two-timing manslut off and putting him in his place.
• Okay, so Kenny has a White superiority complex and is making it known; he doesn't like that the Black family has the power he does not.
• Awe, poor Eva. I genuinely feel bad. The amount of pressure she must be feeling is high.
• Dana, you continue to do too much; the more you speak, Dana, the more guilty you begin to look.
• Good on Nicole for being kind to Eva; I appreciate their interactions today.
• Whew.... calm down, Billy boy. Don't fire Tomas because you effed up. Not his fault. It's yours.
• More flashbacks of the marital times between Bill and Dani; I love that we get to have these flashbacks instead of it all being scripted memories; it's visual!
• I'm excited to see Dani and Pamela's modeling agency kick off the ground!
• That's it, Eva! Do that job better than the one who came before you. Prove yourself.
• Dani, baby, what do you have up your pink sleeve?

Notes:

• What the Fück in top of Cady McClain's head? Who approved that hairdon't? But I like that they continue to dress her in forest green tones.
• I like how this soap is paced and edited so much! It's got its own special, unique feeling to it. And appreciate the continued lessened use of unnecessary music overlaying dialogue.
• Is it me, or has the lighting slightly changed in these episodes? Seems like they might have seen what aired, didn't like it, and changed it up again. It's improving.
• I appreciate that Michele Val Jean, Sheila Ducksworth, and their team are telling this story, re: Deadbeat. Showing a White man having a problem with a Black man having more money/power than them, and telling it as bluntly as they are, is brave and I love seeing it.

Agreed. And what a fascinating watch it has been. Very courageous of them.

It has been; it's nice seeing a topic issue being handled and handled the right way. It's uncomfortable to watch, which is what [I assume] the reaction should be from your audience.

Watching GH and the Black characters are being featured today. As much I love those characters, it made me realize how grateful I am for Beyond the Gates. BTG's characters are like flavorful food to me and GH's Black characters are  like food little to no seasoning.

Speaking of I love how loving he is when it comes to his wife. 

Martin's story has gotten so complex and layered and I'm loving every minute and can't wait to find out more.

Leslie my Leslie. The sheer amount of no [!@#$%^&*] given that she has about every situation just tickles me. The way she reminds Kat every chance she can that she's Ms Bitch and how she turned the tables on Jacob/Kat. Shes really playing Chess while everyone else is playing tic tac toe.

I loved the bit we got in the Dani/Bill flashback that Bill's mother is no longer alive. I wonder if that was his only family ?

I'm curious why they haven't (so far) also portrayed Kenny as a homophobe.  Would that just be making the biggot too cliche?  It just seems like if he has resentment towards "Black royalty" that would go as well to feeling he has "gay privilege" a theory a lot of resentment homophobes seems to think is a thing that exists.

It's weird that I was ready for Kenneth and Martin to make out, but I know that isn't what I'm supposed to be feeling.  Only proves you can't manufacture chemistry.. and a shame the actor wasn't cast as Derek.

I hope the nugget revealed that Bill's mother passed isn't the show saying that Bill is a toxic masculine men because his mom passed...because if so.. so predictable.  Especially since we've already witnessed that Naomi, and to a lesser extent Chelsea, have thrived because of his parenting to offset Dani's domineering tendency (inherited from mama Anita).

I hope Nicole/Eva aren't revealed as mother/daughter because I think the complexity of their relationship is richer and having them slowly rebuild their former closer relationship and the success of that slow rebuilt will be richer if they aren't mother/daughter... but alas the show will probably pull out the soap opera trope that they're mother/daughter... same with Leslie/Kat.... when both pairings have created such interesting and strong scenes with the parent/child relationships already believed to be fact (Nicole/Kat  and Leslie/Eva).

Dani only has changed feelings toward Bill since the stroke only because she views herself as physically stronger/dominate over him.  I doubt Dani is capable of actual unselfish love... due to the fact that she probably didn't get true parental love from at least Anita (who probably sees herself in Dani).
