  • Anita is too emotional for an artefact of the Articulettes? What the Hell happened?!
  • Child bride, what in the Hell are you doing at Dani's home? Put your pee-pee stick away, please. No one cares.
  • Dana is seeking a restraining order against Katherine, yet approaches her at Orphey Gene's? Delulu to the highest of extents, ma'am!
  • Of course Bill would want Tomas to spy on the Dupree family for him via his [new] relationship with Katherine. That's low, Bill. Do not do it, Tomas. Not even to get yourself ahead; I'm sure the Duprees will help you open your own law firm.
  • Yes, child bride, take the test in front of the superior Hamilton wife. Do it. I dare you.
  • What have you got there, Anita? A letter to "Anita Williams Articulette"? What's this about?
  • Dani's line about sharing a husband and the child bride spreading her legs for her is brilliant.
  • Poor Andre, having to see Ashley make out with the man she shouldn't even be with. Go fight for your woman, Andre! But the second choice is always there.
  • Oh, so much like the Supremes, there was a fourth Articulette at some point? Interesting. Nice detail.
  • Ashley versus Dana? Oh now this is some juicy, juicy development I needed! Yes, let this happen. But Derek, sit your useless ass down. Maybe go save another cat from another fire.
  • While I appreciate Katherine's persistence, Tomas continues to bring up brilliant points from a legal point of view.
  • Ms Dana, go ahead and take Derek off of Ashley's hands, please. Time you got yourself someone new, although you want things you're not meant to have. It's your character trait.
  • Bill is definitely beginning to give signs of something very serious; is it epilepsy?
  • Oh shït is hitting the fan, re: the Anita storyline. She knows this letter, back to front. Wow. Damn... so the fourth Articulette unalived herself? That's a strong reveal, and not at all what I would expected!

Notes:

  • Once again, Karla Mosley (Dani) continues to eat up the dialogue written for her and delivers it so effortlessly.
  • I've noticed this several times in the past month, but Alex Alegria's (Tomas) jackets, from my perspective, seem to be tailored too tight in his arms, or Jeresa Featherstone is buying things to fight the other parts of his upper body. The smarter thing to do would be to buy something that fits his more athletic upper arms and tailor in the sides of the jackets. Because the ones he's been wearing recently do not fit him properly, they should not be bunching at the shoulders like that.
  • Tamara Tunie (Anita) just earned herself the Emmy! Give it to her right now.

Yep, another good episode with a powerful and emotional ending!

I'm really enjoying learning more about Anita's storyline, as they make small reveals each episode. It's also nice not being spoiled about these reveals!

It was nice seeing Leslie interact with Derek/Ashley - keep mixing these characters and building a community, it's great. I had to LOL at Derek and Ashley studying the menu though, these people eat at Orphey Gene's every day, surely they have the menu memorized by now haha.

Maybe these girls will finally make Bill figure out his problem.

Finally... the show is giving TT some material to play and I like that Anita isn't coming off as so innocent.   Although I do think so far that the story is mirroring the Supremes just a bit too much with Tracy as Mary, Sharon as Florence, Anita as Diana, and Dante (name?) as Berry.

Andre... run far away from Dani because she isn't over Bill and you're far too good to settle for being second choice.  The fact that I've read comments on other forums stating that Dani just needs the love of a good man makes me think a double standard is at play here.   If the shoe was on the other foot, viewers would be telling Dani not to settle for being second best and to find someone who would put her first.... but since the person in that position is a man, that doesn't apply.   Misandry at it's best.

That said, the twist of Naomi and Hayley both witnessing Bill's latest health flare up and being on the same side was nice.   I doubt this will repair their friendship... but it would be nice if the two learned to co-exist on a civil level.   The Dani/Hayley scene was not needed and was the writers attempt to prop Dani.  MVJ certainly  learned about character propping from the Bell soaps.

And I guess that Andre/Derek/Ashley is still a thing... or it was at the time this episode was being filmed.  From what I understand.. both Derek and Ashley were one of the characters featured in MVJ's story bible and I'd be curious one day to see what the write ups for both characters were in the intial character pitches (we know that Vanessa was originally named Stacy and was supposed to be AA and more level headed.... so I wonder if perhaps Derek and Ashley had a different write up/vision that changed during casting).

In the 2nd episode of the series, it was established aht Leslie knew Ashley.  She was with Jan and Eva wishing Ashley good luck on her first day nursing.. and all were chummy.

Wow, this was some amazing acting and amazing writing.  And who came up with the idea that Anita would have memorized the letter?  That person deserves an Emmy!  I love it when soap operas do very serious storylines.  So much in the last 40 years on soaps has been done for laughs or as camp.  Its good to see BTG is not afraid to hit the serious notes.  We all knew Anita had a secret, but I never expected this kind of tragedy was behind it.

Bill is about to fall out, lol.

Why would Hayley even feel like she had to prove that she was pregnant to Dani? Maybe she likes this non-stop roundabout of drama or perhaps she's triggered because Dani actually was on to something.

Anita really was an opportunist and now it's caught up to her.

Holy hell, this episode... I had a lot of theories about what Anita's secret entailed, but I didn't think it involved this. What happened to Barbara was extremely tragic. Is that why Sharon is so angry with Anita? Because she basically holds her responsible for Barbara taking her own life? Wait, does Sharon even know? She has to know, right?

I can't even imagine the kind of ramifications this is going to have on the entire town, let alone Anita's family. What are they going to think of her when they find out what really happened between Anita and the other Articulettes? What is Vernon going to think? I doubt he's going to be too happy about what Anita did? I wonder if Anita is going to feel so filled with guilt and shame over what she did that she might even attempt to take her own life. People think that Ted cheating on Nicole and having an illegitimate child was earth-shattering? I think this is going to be even more so, or maybe on the same level as Martin's secret, (but we won't even know for sure until it's eventually revealed, whenever that is).

Justice for Tracy, Sharon and Barbara! Anita is the real villian and she shouldnt be painted as the victim. The Articulettes was the dream of Barbara who founded them only for Anita to steal the group and throw them away when she was done using them for her come up.One of the worse things you can do to a person is ruin their reputation and Anita was complicit in having Tracy and Sharon basically trashed and blackballed, thus ruining any chance they had of bouncing back

I wondr if the public think Barbara's death was an accident but the sad reality is, she is likely forgotten as an unknown footnote in the Articulettes origin story.

Anita didnt do anything that would warrant jail time but she should suffer. I hope this story is really a redemption one for Sharon and Tracy whom have their names cleared and they are able to be celebrated and have their accomplishments to music history recognized on a grand stage. Right now, this has all been about elevating Anita's own self and reliving her on glory. She needs to take a back seat and do right by those women and honor Barbara's legacy. She's a part of black history and Anita erased her

If Barbara overdosed on pills then I definitely think it could possibly be construed as an accident. Otherwise then I don't really see it. It could also be likely that Barbara was just simply forgotten about and faded into obscurity because she was left behind and it was the other Articulettes that became famous.

Also what I meant by earth-shattering was that Ted and Nicole's marriage is on the rocks and Martin, Kat and Nicole still haven't really fully forgiven Ted for what happened. Then again, maybe I'm just being a bit hyperbolic. I mean, Nicole still hasn't even decided whether or not she wants to file for divorce and actually I'm kind of surprised that subject has not been broached upon yet.

    • Thanks for sharing; the set, wow. Ten times better than the "penthouse" she lives in now (is that a surprise, though?).

I just read the intro and first chapter and I'm already hooked. I know she had a co-author, but I can tell Kim is a firecracker and I'd love to have wine with her and talk sh!t haha. It makes reading the book pretty easy and entertaining. Intro - I had no idea she got a DUI! She shared 3 bottles of wine with a friend at dinner one night in LA, got in her car, was pulled over and thrown in jail overnight.  She admitted it wasn't her first time drinking and driving, but learned a valuable lesson that night. Out of the gate, she's not holding back or hiding anything. Chapter 1 - the announcement that GL was being cancelled. She was driving to Peapack and got a call from Bradley Cole who told her the news. First, that's BS that as one of the faces of GL, you hear the big news from a fellow co-star on your way to work. Granted, the "suits" were traveling to Peapack that day to tell the cast and crew, but still, seems icky. Ironically the news came on April Fools Day. Apparently that was the last day the network could decide whether to cancel or renew, but to Kim's point, couldn't they just pick the day before to avoid the callousness of the 'holiday'. Obviously a sad day in GL history. I thought it was funny, she said the one thing she thought of is "what would Susan Lucci do" in this situation, post-cancellation. And of course she said she'd "find something to hawk on the Home Shopping Network"  You all would know better than me, but part of the title of her book is "seven husbands" and in her intro, she uses Reva's full name: Reva Shayne-Lewis-Lewis-Spaulding-Lewis-Winslow-Cooper-Lewis-Lewis-O'Neill.  However, in the first chapter, she said Bradley Cole was "her 8th (or was it 9th?) husband". Well, Kim, that already contradicts the title of your book and your character's name you touted.

    • I was incredibly moved by these scenes, especially Peter's performance. It felt so tender and real, especially when you remember Bo just got out of a years-long coma and wasn't going to be able to put up a front. You're reminded of how long these legends have populated the show when you have a 70 year old man grieving men who were almost 90 or 100, but Bo's response to Victor's death was a poignant reminder of how fresh these wounds are no matter your age. Normally these types of moments don't even make it in soap episodes in recent decades as they are seen as too boring. The more somber moments being balanced by Bo meeting his grandchildren was also lovely.  And the scene where Bo forgave Shawn may be the only time I've been in lock with Brandon Beemer's take on the part.  There's a certain element of suffocation with soaps, as shown here, when you remember so many of the kids are named after long dead relatives, or when they grew up, were paired with the kids of other longtime characters. That aspect always makes me yearn for new blood (new blood that doesn't suck, anyway), but there are other moments, like those with Bo, which make me appreciate all the history the show has.
    • A funny scene, Roger and Sonni go out to eat, at that place that had a colonial theme (I love when soaps have very specific places to eat..I hated the diners on GL, ATWT and AW) and this is just after Rog came back and Sonni hit the headlines and the waitress scremes.."Oh, Roger Thorpe, and YOUR...please dont' hurt me..." and they are all like, "Hey, were just hungry!" (most soaps now have someone go on a murder spree and the rest of the cast and extras look like they havent heard about it."
