Watched the first episode. Good start.

Anita is everything.

How long will it be until Dani and Nicole fight over a guy?

They've had that circular logo for years (it's the logo they've used the most for other things). We're still trying to figure out what the candle light means and if it's a GL reference, lol.

@janea4old - Here it is in colour as it appeared after the end credits and after the Georgia logo.

Thanks!  Just cued the ParamountPlus to the very very end, and yes it's after the Georgia peach.  Thanks,
And then after that is this:

this is the regular P&G logo for everything.
It's all over their website pg.com

The part that's new is the word "studios" added onto that, with the candle "i".

I watched on PPlus, so no commercials, but I thought this was interesting to read
(from the founder and former owner of soapcentral)

I assumed it would be mostly P&G products advertised, but were there other things?

I too liked old soapy touches like “Beyond the Gates will continue”

Oh cool, they said “Beyond the Gates will continue” on the live CBS TV broadcast?  Of course that didn't happen on ParamountPlus due to lack of commercials.

Y&R has "mid-show bumpers" (pics of the cast) and those appear on the ParamountPlus feed.

I wonder if BTG would do that?
Actually I prefer it plain, because when streaming without commercials, the story just flows.

Am I think too much or does anyone else think the P&G logo is a nod to ATWT and GL? The circle being somewhat like an eclipsed moon or even earth. The candle being light? Maybe I am reading too much into it.

Procter was a candlemaker, Gamble, a soap maker. Candles and soap were how P&G got its start.

I haven't been this excited about a show for a long time. Especially since I can't stomach the other soaps anymore.

My favorite things: That behind the scenes and the network actually care about a soap opera again. Most of the sets look great. We had a real song to start. It will be more character driven than plot driven at least for now (even tho i don't mind plot driven if its good.)

The dynamics are already interesting with Anita/Nicole/Dani but also that Dani is a daddy's girl with Vernon. Also love the dynamics that Naomi will bring with her father cheating with her best friend and all.

In fact, Naomi/Arielle Prepetit was surprisingly my favorite of the episode. Especially of the actors I don't know. I thought she was good being funny, sexy, serious and shady all in the first episode. Plus as much I watch soaps for drama and villains I also need a good couple with chemistry and Naomi and Jacob have that.

In reply to earlier posts about the P&G regular logo and the new P&G Studios logo with the candle . . .  I looked up the clues the other posters mentioned, and found this

More about Procter the candlemaker and Gamble the soapmaker:
https://www.investors.com/news/management/leaders-and-success/william-procter-helped-build-procter-and-gamble/

Interesting history of the P&G logo
https://www.businessinsider.com/pg-puts-moon-in-new-logo-despite-satanist-accusations-2013-5
From just a star, then moon and 13 stars. And then just initials and why.
And finally since 2013, the current logo with a simple circle with a crescent moon and the P&G initials.

Watched the premiere and it was a very good start. Clearly, there are people behind the scenes who care about this show and want it to succeed. The exposition about who the Dupree family is worked well and I think we know their dynamic. I really liked the scene between grandfather and grandson in the diner. Starting a show with Best Of My Love playing sets a great tone.

Daphnee Duplaix is my favourite so far. Natural and restrained.

Karla Mosley is overacting. She did this on B&B as well.

Loved how the show had extras (including Real Housewife of Potomac's Karen Huger!)

The sets are definitely over lit and the lighting is too bright which detracts from the otherwise very nice, expansive, sets, and the hair, makeup, and costumes that all looked good. Any white in a set, prop, or costume was ultra bright. Hopefully they will work out that issue.

Agreed on both counts.

Karla is the one I was referring to for overacting and feeling forced.

I rewatched the first episode that was available to stream at cbs.com...some thoughts:

1) Smart to introduce all the Duprees and show the bond/family loyalty before we get introduced to 'the Nemesis'.

2) Vernon has a bond with Dani (Anita seemed a bit jealous) while Anita has the bond with Nicole.

3) Dani's daughters seem to take after Aunt Nicole while Nicole's daughter seems more like Dani.  I sense some friction between Dani/Chelsea (stage mom, living through her daughter).

4) I'm almost sorry we didn't see what led to Hayley betraying her best friend Naomi and Dani.  A few people I know got Brooke Logan vibes from Hayley...too soon to tell if I agree with that or not.

5) Vanessa was the perfect gossip and bringing the mess.  Apparently she has a story herself so we shall see what that entails.

6) Andre is a player and I have a feeling our new nurse will fall for his charms.
