Members carolineg
It's mostly human activity. Either arson or something careless or benign like throwing out a lit cigarette or a campfire burning. Pair that with the wind and dryness of Socal and it just gets out of control quick. ETA-they haven't said anything about how the current fires started, sorry. I was just saying how they could possibly start. Members John
Well California is a very dry state Fires can start easy Then combined that with very high winds over 100 MPH and we have this scary situation Edited January 9 by John

Members Beachstorm
Many times, it's power lines that start blowing in the high winds (the Santa Ana winds), then they arc or have a tree fall on them and ignite brush or whatever. My hubs worked for Southern California Edison for decades and they still call him to warn of power turn-offs. His phone was ringing off the hook these past couple of days. Low humidity, dryness of the land and one spark can be picked up by these winds and then there's nothing they can do to put out the raging wind-driven fires. Add to that they had no air support yesterday because they couldn't put units in the air. My son down there is housing their friends and their cat because they were evacuated from the Hollywood hills with tonight's new fire. At least they have a few water-dropping copters in the air tonight.

Members Vee
Thanks for that. I am supposed to fly back to LA from my family here back East on Friday, but uh, it's starting to look a little dicey.
Members Taoboi
Exactly! Not to sound like a broken record, but...again...it writes itself.
Members Contessa Donatella
He posted on his IG during the day, about it. So sorry he's having to go through this. Obviously true for so many people. Hate this. Worried.
Members Jdee43
The lame attempt at a Guza era edgy montage was so campy.. Michael on fire while Willow's in heat. The only acceptable way for the Drew /Willow story to end is her putting two bullets in his chest, Sonny style. Maurice was awful today; no depth, no emotion, just auto-pilot. You'd think it was one of his flunkies who got hurt, not his son. Of all the returns, Lois is the worst. Other than lame character assassination, no one has any idea of what to do with her. Only Lucy gets worse writing. Rena's Lois returns after 25 years and all she does is hang out at the Q mansion. She needed to take a 25 year break for that?
Members carolineg
I will agree the montage today was a straight Guza ripoff. It wasn't up to even late Guza standards, but if felt very much like what he would have done-just less effectively.
Members Efulton
I guess I am in the minority but I like that Drew has evolved (devolved?) into an ambitious, sleazy ho! This version is one I can see sticking around. I really hope the Quartermaines turn on him with lots of nasty fighting. I also hope that Chase leaves Brooklyn and Port Charles when the truth about her child comes out. I need Brooklyn to be single, desperate, angry, bitter and scheming to make everyone else miserable. Not this Laura Ingall's Wilder version we have been seeing for some time.
Members Aragorn
I believe Eden McCoy gave a good performance today.
