Perhaps they will explore the medications that Heather has been given for her hip pain as the issue?

We know that her facility was not ethical when it came to treatment.  So, it may be interesting to see if the side effects of her prescriptions had an effect on her judgement.

Too soon to make any kind of conclusions but I’m still optimistic about what this new regime can bring to the table.

But I do have to admit that if Heather’s scenes today are any indication of a redemption/reformation arc, then that’s pretty stupid.

And what a surprise, the whore used the only talents she has to get Dex to stay in town. Hopefully, the new regime finally makes her pay for being such a horrible person. #Trex #Nex #Anyone

Thanks, @Liberty City!

So, I watched today.

For sure, this "poisoned hip" business w/ Heather feels like Korte/Mulcahey justifying at least some of her craziest actions.  Of course, it can't justify everything she's ever done - I'm still waiting for Heather's "origins story" that does, GH! - but as long as she doesn't morph into GH's answer to Myrtle Fargate, I'm okay with it.

As a matter of fact, parts of today's episode felt like course correction time to me.  You had Heather and her evil hip, you had Diane offering Alexis a way out of the (dying) newspaper business and back into the law game, you had Marshall, Curtis and Stella learning that he'd been misdiagnosed on account of being Black?  Even Finn's phone call to whomever to look into Gregory's ALS and pull a metaphorical rabbit out of their hat feels like we're about to take a turn there (although, God knows where).  And that little bombshell that Nina's about to drop on Joss?  That definitely feels someone pulling the old plug on Joss and Dex's relationship ASAP.

It's only Day 1, so I didn't expect any miracles.  After all, there's a ton of stuff left behind by Chris and Dan that Korte and Mulcahey have to work through, and that's gonna take awhile.  Already, though, I do feel like the pacing of scenes is catching up to the editing - we're not just taking a long, five-to-six-minute scene, breaking it up into 30-second bits to be sprinkled throughout the episode and then calling it a day - and that the dialogue isn't there just to recap stuff but to glean a little insight into motivations as well.

Pre-2004 Heather was neurotic, scheming, self destructive, jealous, somewhat dangerous but she was not a psychopathic lunatic.  I am fine with Mulcahey & Korte correcting the mess previous writers going all the way back to Guza and Pratt made of the character. However, it would not my first choice of things they need to fix and as much as Alley Mills is killing it I wish Robin Mattson was who we were seeing on our screens. If Mattson was back I would be happy to have Heather on full time but for me Mills is only needed for story arcs.

I always give new headwriters 6 months to turn a show around. They need to wrap up stories, are dealing with contracts, etc. I am hopeful I will start to see a show I recognize and enjoy even if I do not love every story and character.  My biggest hope is the hospital becomes the centre of the show again.  Bring on the offspring of legacy characters and have them work there - Rick Webber, Jr, Thomas Hardy, Jr, Maya Ward and Lucas Jones to begin with.

I would also love to see Serena Baldwin, Dillon Quatermaine, Lucky Spencer, Lulu Spencer and eventually a group of interns that includes Jossyln Jacks, Cameron Webber and Emma Scorpio-Drake.

Give Jane Eliot whatever she wants to stick around and keep using what remains of the vets from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Welcome to Elizabeth and Patrick! Hope that Frank stays out of the writing and lets the writers write. So far so good. I didn't care for Nathan Varni when he was overseeing GH for ABC a few years back due to his inexperience. I hope Nathan is more seasoned now and will keep Frank in line and not allow him to cast people in parking lots. And let the writers write!!!! That can't be said enough.

I was watching Grey's Anatomy earlier this week and there was a patient who occasionally had freakouts and temporary memory loss due to cobalt poisoning from fragments of bullets from a shooting that happened a long time ago.  What a coincidence I'm now seeing this cobalt poisoning again.  I've always liked Ally Mills as Heather and hope Korte/Mulcahey won't write her off.

Portia was in 4 of the first 5 scenes today.  I thought that was an interesting way to say "hey, new writers at work!"  LOL

I also noticed ever since Jason came back, there's been new background music.

    • Oh good, so I don't have to wait too long haha. I'm glad she cares about seeing Bill graduate. I'm guessing I'm in for a bumpy ride between Bill and Matt, if he's going to be his caretaker? Who else could it be, maybe Josh?

    • Maeve makes a few sporadic appearances, but returns full-time the next spring/summer. She's back in time to see Bill and Michelle graduate, although she skulks around town and wasn't going to tell anyone she was alive. She comes back wearing this HUGE hat---which was a throwback to the old Vanesaa. lol.
    • Aww, yeah it's very heartbreaking and I mostly enjoyed the Nola/Vanessa scenes because they finally let their walls down and came together in a beautiful moment. So Nola was at the hospital already and bumped into Vanessa, who had MRI papers that fell out of her hand and Nola went down to pick them up and asked her what was going on. Later, Vanessa confided in her about her disease. Then, Nola told Zachary on the beach (he prodded her and already alluded to knowing something was going on with Van), and then Vanessa found out she told him and got a little upset. Now, however, Nola is strangely absent while everyone is mourning her death. I'm curious if Nola will actually tell people about her MRI results. I would assume so. Only Nola, Rick, Roger and Zachary know anything, although there is the MRI results letter from the mail that everyone has missed seeing at home. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point. But... I just saw the next episode and the opening already cut Vanessa out and added Dahlia and Zachary. I guess Maeve is gone for a long time

That will break my heart seeing the town continue to mourn her and assume she's dead. I can't wait to see her return though, and I have to imagine feelings will be torn between loving that she's alive and being very angry she did all of this. While I hate what Vanessa is doing, I'm happy to hear it's not totally against her character. I think you're right, had Henry still been around, she wouldn't put him through this. I'm still surprised she is with Bill, though. I get her feelings on Matt, because she wants him to move on, but still very heartbreaking. I'm glad this was Maeve's choice to have a break vs. being fired.    Interesting, so I'm curious to see who they eventually pair Phillip with. They're flirting with a Phillip/Annie pairing, but I'm not sure if they'll go that route with the Jeva drama, her growing pill addiction, and Rick's past with her.  Ugh, yeah I'm so sad to see Bridget do a total 180 in the last couple weeks. She has always been a strong character from what I've seen, but now she's just bending over backwards to get Hart to love her and it reeks of desperation. Yeah, sure, this new Hart is eye candy, but I'm already tired of seeing Hart/Dinah have sex all over Springfield and the Cayman Islands haha.
    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
    • I can see Kim being that way. Well, Kyle didn't have to say yes. LOL. The suicide attempt feels plot-driven. I don't know if even Long could've made it work. She'd spent so much time trying to make Reva and Kyle into a couple, it feels odd to just have them give up. Not to mention how odd it is to have Maeve agree to marry him. Re Charita---surely they could've at least tried  finding clips with who was still there. Maybe they wouldn't have been "big" moments, but surely she'd interacted with Ross, Vanessa, and Henry. Vanessa had dated Ed, FCOL. But Mo and Rick were there---surely they could've bothered to find some clips of her with them (and they did interact a fair amount) and used them. And with Ed they could've found some shot of her talking to him and just not cut to whoever was playing Ed in the clip. That to me is what feels lazy---they had more than a year to figure it out, and they went with a bunch of photos. If you were sort of centering it on Rick anyway---then find clips with them and use 'em.
    • I definitely think it's time to write off Nina for good. I think her killing Drew might actually be a good idea. She could completely lose it after losing both Sasha and Willow and she ends up murdering Drew and eventually she gets caught and sent away to prison for a long time.
    • I hope it's okay to post this here(as in from DC)
    • Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?
