Just watched Eric's video where he spoke about his health challenges. He comes across so much better than he does as Victor. Maybe a little bit more of Eric's warmth/humor could have been incorporated into Victor over the years to make the character more viable.

Anyway, it was interesting to note how he had to come to the realization that his body was no longer what it had been. He had kept pushing himself in recovery. Really he is over 80 and you'd think anyone, no matter how fit they, are would understand that there are limits. But it seems some men can't get their head around that, not only with health but also in other areas of their life as well.

Eric seemed humbled by that and got tearful at the end of the video. Hope he has a full recovery.

My mother had done the same recently at close to his age after a sudden, very bad ankle break, after years of never breaking a thing. She's pushed physical therapy too hard and it interfered with her recovery. I know how he feels.

Like all of us, Eric Braeden may be a lot of complicated or contradictory things but first and foremost he shoots from the hip, is candid and loyal to people he cares for and wears his heart (and maybe his ego) on his sleeve. He's a TV legend who's spent a lifetime in a lot of people's homes and I wish him all the best for his recovery and health.

I feel like he had a better balance of light and dark back in the day. There was of course his stint as the epileptic “Grandpa Snowflake” with his canine friend Zapato, but I feel like they overcompensated for that “lapse” by making him an absolute monster post-LML. And aside from his ugh relationship with Sabrina, he didn’t really have the benefit of a romance to bring out his softer side (à la his romance with Hope).

Amen. I believe Eric Braeden is true to himself, and cares about people and fans generally. His Twitter reminds me of that often. He stands up for his political views but respectfully, and fans who may be of a different political side seem to respect him for that, which we all know is incredibly rare in these charged, polarised times.

He embodies Y&R totally, IMO, and I wish him the very best for a fulsome and speedy recovery.

And he's still his feisty self on Twitter:

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
