James Patrick Stuart has *always* been on recurring and they've always let him do other projects, so who knows. Since GH is owned by Disney, maybe they can work it out? The last time he was filming outside stuff, GH wrote it that Valentin was in the trunk of a car, and then later on they wrote that Valentin was on a tropical island. His absence was not an issue most of the time -- but it was a bit odd when many characters were there for Peter's death except for Valentin. (But I'm so glad they didn't wait for his return, because Peter needed to *die* ASAP !) And then they had to write in a scene after Valentin's return where he apologized to Anna for "not being there for her". I think Anna and Valentin eventually worked it out between them that they can accept that each has secrets? You ask a good question. I don't know what will happen this time.
