Live with Kelly and Ryan, Sherri, The Jennifer Hudson Show

Two weeks into their debut seasons, both “Sherri” and “The Jennifer Hudson Show” are off to solid starts in daytime syndication among talk shows, reports Next TV and TV News Check.

During the week of September 19-23, 2022, the most current week available for daytime TV syndicated ratings, “Sherri” averaged a 0.7 rating in Households while “JHud” averaged a 0.6 rating. Compared to their debuts one week earlier, “Sherri” is flat while “JHud” is slightly down (0.6 vs. 0.7 rating). The latter series was up substantially from the year ago performance of “Nick Cannon” which it mainly replaced on stations across the U.S. (0.6 rating vs. 0.4 rating). “Nick Cannon” was canceled after just a few months on the air.

“Live with Kelly and Ryan” remained the highest rated syndicated daytime talk show among both Households (1.5 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.6 rating), averaging 2.200 million viewers, to score its most-watched week in four months (since week of May 23, 2022). In fact, the daily series delivered the largest weekly growth of any daytime talk show – network or syndicated – in Total Viewers (+13%; 2.200 million vs. 1.941 million) and was the only daytime talk show to post week-to-week gains across all key Nielsen categories (Households, Total Viewers and Women 25-54 rating). The show has now ranked as the highest-rated daytime talk show among Women 25-54 rating for the 37th week in a row, including 15 weeks of ties.

“Dr. Phil” remained second among Households (1.4 rating), Total Viewers (2.017 million) and Women 25-54 (0.4 rating). Rounding out the top three in Women 25-54 was a five way tie between “Kelly Clarkson,” “Tamron Hall,” “Drew Barrymore” “Steve Wilkos” and “Sherri,” each with a 0.3 rating in the key women sales demo.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime syndicated talk shows performed during the the week of September 19-23, 2022, sorted by Households.

*Notable Preemptions/Schedule Changes

  • Daytime syndication was still being impacted by wall to wall coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth II on local stations, culminating with her funeral on Monday, September 19 which preempted many shows in big markets.
  • “Karamo” premiered. The show took up many time slots previously held by “Maury” which still remains in heavy rotation despite concluding production last season.

Correct. I’ll make light of that next time.

Thanks for the reminder.

LMAO. For a second I thought I used the wrong photo or wrote the wrong words. Haha.

Wendy had a 0.8 Household rating last year. So “Sherri” is mostly on par.

Are they airing repeats of Maury and Jerry Springer? I thought both shows said adios. I remember the time I was an audience on Jerry Springer, lol! Don't ask. I wanted Oprah tickets, but her line was always busy. My friend wanted to see a bloody brawl on the stage and he wound up getting an adult man wearing a diaper and an adult babysitter who sprinkled baby power on his pubes. At the end of the taping, I told my friend it served him right for dragging me like that on my day off.
