Thoughts:
I know that Anita is likely joking about writing a novel, but I do think given all she has gone through, it could be a good idea to get some of her creativity out.
Ooh-la la, look at Bradley flirting with his husband. And yes! The chemistry is alive and despite all that happened last year, I am truly happy for them right now.
I like the friendship (and friendship only) between Donnell and Samantha; it is nice to see him so supportive of her with the upcoming cotillion. And Donnell's breakfast sounds delicious.
Given how Darlene reacted to Naomi in the beginning, who knows how she will continue to be with Eva. I am hoping that it works out well, but it could blow up in the end.
It is so nice to see that Anita's spark is coming back after the infection that had her giving up.
Damn. Not the afternoon delight being postponed! That was the perfect time, despite Jacob waiting and Vernon's impending arrival. A quickie would have sufficed, no?
Vernon calling Dani a snitch was hilarious. They definitely have that father-daughter relationship down pat.
What is going on with June? She is acting quite peculiar with Donnell and Samantha right now.
Damn. Looks like the Rashad persona is beginning to rub off on Jacob, and that is not a positive thing.
DAMN! Darlene does not mince her words or hold her tongue. And look out, here comes Dana. This is about to get very, very interesting. And just as I suspected... this is going to be a hilarious mess. Darlene's facial reactions and body language towards Dana are telling.
Martin's embarassment at discussing his sex life with Vernon is beyond grounding, and I love how candid Vernon is willing to be with him, too.
Good on Donnell for encouraging Samantha to excel in areas she is comfortable with and that will set her apart from everyone else at the cotillion.
Dani's self-doubts about her return to the modeling industry feel rooted in realness, and her concerns about it make sense. And I feel like models have the same kind of feelings.
My heart is broken for Eva. She was genuinely trying to impress Darlene and be liked by her, and Dana came in like her usual self, destroyed any chance of that, and is now going for a cocktail and a spa treatment? She should have just kept her trap shut.
Martin talking about increasing security surrounding his campaign worries me that something is going to happen. First Bradley's involvement with the plasma ring, and now this political campaign! This is not going to end well for the Richardson Smith family.
Damn. Darlene has some strong feelings and while I may not agree, I do know she is entitled to have them. Wow. And poor Eva having to overhear her warning Izaiah. That cannot feel good at all.
Notes:
Zimmerman and Paige did outstanding work with the script today.
Monique Mosee (Darlene) is quite the find. She works so well in the role and is definitely the anti-Anita. Welcome aboard!
