It was said when Michael Morgan returned to Y&R she didn’t want to play Hilary again or do a back from the dead story, but MM apparently has  been regretful about her decision  ever since. So in response they saddled Amanda with all of Hilary’s old friends and foes for no reason lol.

LMAO it’s so funny because Hilary was supposed to have been revealed as a secret daughter of Gus Rogan and Dru, but the show chickened out and we have the preposterously silly results we have today.

Thinking back Kate Linder/Esther dodged a bullet in that supporting cast purge of 2004, I think, when Miguel, Mary, Lynne etc were shown the door.

Otherwise Esther would be long gone, I wonder why she wasn't dropped at that time?

The chat/flashbacks were nice but would mean more if we had have seen Esther on a more regular basis the past few years.

Will she just disappear again till Xmas?

Still think her date should have been Tiny ,Chloe's fatther, who doesn't recognize her.

Cue angst for Esther and a story for Chloe about reconnecting with her dad. Doesn't have to be front burner, just a break from the Diane and Ashland stories.

Y&R needs more stories (along with more sets and extras)

Perhaps Dwight ends up being "Tiny"s real first name.  That would be a hoot. Plus, McMurray is great in both drama and comedy..

Casting has been getting things so right recently. Newman, Walters, and I actually think Allison Lanier  has added a few layers to Summer. (Which Summer desperately needed).    Kelsey Wang is fitting in well with the Abbotts.  Her scenes with ED today were good. I could even stand the Staph with ED.  As for adding Marchetti to Jabot-----

Now, if  only someone in hair would stop sticking AH's finger in a socket before her scenes...

Y&R needs to stop these ridiculous business stories NOW.

When Summer was taking the Marchetti job, we kept hearing about how they were the hottest fashion house in Europe (of course)

So why would a US cosmetics firm be able to merge with them and why would Marchetti be interested?

If this is about getting Summer back to GC why not have her admit that the job is harder/less satisfying than she hoped and that she wants to come back home?

Would make more sense.

But Y&R insists on everyone being fabulously successful in their careers.

Tessa is apparently super successful as a singer(although there is no evidence of that) Newman Media is one of the big players, Fenmore's faces none of the challenges other retailers are facing etc etc

Interesting enough you mentioned that because Susan Walters as Diane was purged during that time as well. At least Lynne and Diane got actual exits. As for Esther they probably kept her around because of Kate Linder being with SAG and at the time Esther was needed as Katherine was dealing with the mystery of Arthur and his stepson that led to nowhere while “daughter” Jill got engaged to a very shady Chancellor executive played by Michael Nouri. That was the story which made Chancellor Industries a player again in business stories.

LMAO.

I really hadn’t seen any opinion of new Summer except someone thought she should have been new Abby instead lol. But she definitely has brought Summer to life and yes added extra layers.

As @Paul Ravensaid the whole topic of having to add Marchetti to the Jabot umbrella was really really dumb and unnecessary.

Why couldn’t Summer just say working for the lady was great experience but personally can’t stand the bitch so she’s coming home out of familiarity? LOL

Source?  I believe you but I still like to see where inside dirt originates.  Thanks

Ashland and Diane may click well together, but do we really want Dianne sucked back into Newman politics?

Dwight should be shady character, keeping up Esther's horrible taste in men.  Maybe get Kevin or Chloe shot or harmed.

They should've had her online date turn out to be Tiny. Imagine if Chloe and Esther had to deal with the man who abandoned them all those years ago.

Exactly! Why can't Kyle and Billy decide to revive "Glo by Jabot" while Summer takes control of Brash and Sassy with Victoria assistance. And have Newman and Jabot rival again.

They need to stop it with these fashion stories on this show that nine times out of ten don't go anywhere.

Why is Elena telling all her business to Imani?

Billy as the white man out of place. Triggered.

I wonder if the show would actually go there. Make Billy voice discomfort as the only white guy in a company with majority-black leadership. Right now, they are dancing around the elephant in the room by calling it a “family” thing.

    • I feel like Vernon and Anita need to not be hypocrites and try and take the heat off Bill in this case. It's clear that the family used him as a fixer and especially knowing he helped with Martin's situation, they need to either be quiet or support him. BTW...with Vanessa being in the hospital for food poisoning, am I the only one who thought Shanice was gonna say she's pregnant or had an STD? The only reason I say STD is because she hasn't had any memorable sex partners, but I definitely don't believe she just had food poisoning.
    • Yeah, I mean I know that the name still pertains. I just laugh at it not now being called Arizona Dust, but, I admit it simply does not have the same ring to it. Above, that is interesting that Arizona had already come up before the crisis.
    • Leslie and her family are from Chicago? Anita's background also includes being a former Chi-Town native? Might they connect this and go somewhere with it?
    • Honestly who's to say Leslie even birthed Eva, I mean she's a liar, I wouldn't believe a word she says about Eva being Ted's(or hers)
    •   1. 11/1/83 cast/set list:

Please register in order to view this content

The "11/2/83" video you posted of Ruth Buzzi's scenes includes Roman and Hope in them, meaning the video you posted is actually 11/1/83, since Roman and Hope aren't in 11/2/83.   2. The video you posted of "11/2/83" has scenes with Roman and Hope. As you can see from my cast/set list, Roman and Hope are not in the 11/2/83 episode (see above note):   4573...11/2/83: Cast: Mickey, Julie, Doug, Maggie, Neil, Don, Marie, Alex, Liz, Andre as Tony, Gwen, Chris, Eugene, Sandy, Letitia, Charlene, Mrs. Whiting, Wanda/Guard, Dave, Delia, Saleslady # 1, Saleslady # 2, Figure in Dark, Raven/animal, Cats/animals, Birds/animals.   2.  11/3/83 :My video collection starts with 11/4/83. so I don't have the 11/1/83 or 11/3/83 video, but in addition to the cast/set list for 11/3/83, here is also the parking clearance call sheet for that day, showing Ruth was not only in the cast/set list but did work that day:     They even had hired the animal trainer and all the animals for the day, so It's sort of a certainty that her scenes were not cut that day, or it would have been a big waste of the budget. 3. As for 11/7/83, I just fast-forwarded through that whole episode myself. Letitia is in it from start to finish. It's her big final episode where she is killed. She starts the episode saying "Eugene, are you there?" In the next act, Marlena shows up and meets Letitia's lion. Later in the episode, Letitia is killed by "Eugene" (the Salem Slasher in a Eugene mask).   So, as we can see from your own post, the 11/2/83 date you have listed on that video is incorrect, since Hope and Roman are in that video but not in the 11/2/83 episode. It seems the dates you have on all your early November 1983 episodes are incorrect.   When you post videos and suggest that my data is incorrect, do you not first compare who is in the scenes and see if that matches who is in the episode? You didn't do that with the "11/2/83" episode, which based on Roman and Hope being in it means that is actually 11/1/83. Best to do something like that first before suggesting my data and research is incorrect.
    • Within the Dupree family, I predict Vernon/Anita will be conflicted about what to do about Bill and his role in the whole Ted/Silk Press Sheila situation... especially since Bill knows where the particular bone about Martin is buried. Dani, Chelsea, and Naomi's reactions to what Bill possibly did isn't hard to guess.. but Hayley's reactions will be interesting to hear.  Especially given her recent pregnancy scare.. she might not be so much on Bill's side, or she'll totally surprise us and be totally on Bill's side.   Either way, I think Martin's secret will be the main focus in May sweeps.. with the fall out of the Eva secret playing out in the background... while the Joey/Vanessa/Doug thing continues to boil/develop.
    • Hotel was The Love Boat on land but a little soapier. I will forever maintain that Hotel was a time slot hit. I don't believe that 1983/84 Hotel was a better show than Knots Landing.
