What's the point of them undoing X years of story... when each storyline is a recycling of a previous storyline?!

But seriously.  I'm getting real sick and tired of soaps playing with time like this.  Time jumps are antithetical to the nature of serialized storytelling, and they're a really lazy way to get yourself out of bad writing, too.

Whew, you hung in there a lot longer than me because I was through with this nonsense years ago. It’s so bad and you’re right, it’s incredibly lazy!

The tough part about time changes with soaps is that unless you do a completely different era (aka Dark Shadows), it just doesn't sustain for the regular viewer. DAYS really showed just how challenging that was.

I'm not even sure how B&B effective shows that it reverted back in a way that's meaningful. B&B burns through stuff that I can't really remember much of what happened a few months ago. If B&B didn't constantly recycle the same triangles, it'd be a lot more interesting and noticeable. So you don't watch for 3 months and return to Steffy/Liam/Hope - looks normal to me!

DAYS could've made the time jump really innovative. They chose not to because they were lazy.

Is the time jump even mentioned at all anymore?  I feel like DAYS has quietly ignored it and moved everything back to the present time.

IIRC most of what they did with the time jump was undone within a couple months.

Someone (not me) has an exclusive about something and when they reveal it we'll talk about it.

JMW's instagram of March 11 said she was at 30 weeks of her pregnancy.  So if she gives birth at 39 weeks, that would be May 13?

I had assumed that Steffy would be in a coma or in Paris, or whatever, during her maternity leave. 

But she says at the beginning of this video "I'm basically filming ... like ... right up until I give birth."   So will the Steffy character be up and moving around soon?  Or is JMW filming stuff to air while she's on maternity leave?

Josh Griffith doesn't know how to write for them (or for anyone), so he just has them going around town and making announcements instead.  Next week, Tessa and Mariah will announce that they're ordering Thai food through Doordash.  The week after that?  The food was delicious, and they loved watching the first season of "The Gilded Age," too.
