This probably a more random one since Stone was basically his only acting role, but Michael Sutton.  When he appeared on GH I never would have imagined MS could pull off the story he had both emotionally and physically.  MS was never awful, but grew as an actor so much in 2 years.

Agree with everyone on Ari Zucker as well.

Exactly.  I think everyone in the story kicked it up a notch as well.  KMc, MB, and to a lesser extent VM all got great material and really shined like they never had before.  You could tell everyone from writers, producers, actors, etc truly cared about telling this story as accurately as possible.  It's honestly a shame MS quit acting because he became such a great talent.

That probably ought to be a different thread but there is definitely a topic there for "Whatever happened to XXX's acting talent?"

I always thought KKL was talented. Very green at the beginning, granted. And it didn't help she had to work a lot with Ronn Moss, who clearly didn't elevate any material he is in, on one hand and on the other Joanna Johnson and Susan Flannery who would make most actresses look lame in the most mundane of scenes.

Did he tell him he was pretty but a shi**y actor too?  lol  Sutton clearly did that all on his own with trained coaches and what not.  Same with Vanessa.  They truly had something in them to improve, but if they are fine with MB taking credit for their improvement that works for me.  Maybe he really is this behind the scenes acting guru that helps others so much he can't find time to remember his own lines.

Sutton and McCullough also credit John Homa for helping them grow tremendously as actors.  I think I recall Jonathan Jackson thanking him at one point too.  Pretty sure he was hired by Riche due to the depth of the material the Stone storyline was going to require.

Maurice may have helped (at least according to all three he did), but I am sure Homa did quite a bit.

No soap story has even broken my heart more than Stone dying of complications from AIDS.  And those actors are a huge part of why.

I know Vanessa thanked Homa specifically in her Emmy win (and not Maurice lol).  A lot of actors have said good things about Homa for sure.  Does he still work on GH?

Stone dying still brings me to tears if I watch it and that is really, really rare for me.   I truly can't think of a single actor in the storyline that dropped the ball on it.  Even peripheral actors like Lilly Melgar and Sean Kanan did some great work.

    • So yesterday I wandered off on a tangent about Elvis Presley, off the top of my head. Probably no one cares but I want to correct facts. Elvis Presley did have a twin who was stillborn. They named him Jesse Garon Presley & in a level of their emotional life he was very real to Elvis's mama & to a lesser degree to Elvis himself. I will now return you to your regularly scheduled discussing post-Ron prattle.
    • They are the absolute stars for me. I’m delighted every day that my feelings about them from the special on the show, turned out to be that and so much more. I genuinely feel episodes are better when they’re featured. This cracked me the hell up especially with Leslie listening

. This episode was so good, I will be rewatching when I get home tonight. THIS was classic soap opera.
    • I can barely remember who was the person they tested her with for the AMC revival but I *do* remember kinda liking them together (anyone remember better?  lol)  But yes, I feel the same.  It might not help that when I became a regular viewer Tad was presumed dead and she was with Craig...  I do remember that my sister's best friend had been an AMC viewer with her mom and dad and that they were very excited that Tad was returning... OK I instantly remembered that.  And now once again I'm sad about what coulda been with the reboot.
    • Well, that is weird. I do not see him but I only have him on Ignore on 2 accounts.
    • In the preview for the show back in February on Entertainment Tonight, Jeresa the costume designer was specific about each character's economic background, personality, and the character's personal fashion preferences.  Very much about the characters and not the actors. She said Eva is a thrifter, so her normal daily wardrobe would be something from a thrift store, and if BTG buys it new, they intentionally make it look used. So what you said fits about the type of thing a lower income person would buy for a fancy event.
    • As hard as it is for me to imagine anyone but Don Stewart as Mike Bauer...I dunno...maybe someone like "Adam-12"'s Kent McCord?  Or Robert Hogan?
    • Yep I don't hate Javi and then he's macking on Leo and I'm done with him. Leo is a failure who needs to go away   I am bracing myself for Alex reading the manuscript and imagining him and Stephanie as the main characters, because this couple has literally nothing else to do until Joy comes back showing
    • Oh yes. The towel scene though
    • Interesting that Donald May has been mentioned twice. He's on my dreamcast list for Alan. He was somewhat older than Stewart and Bernau, but he could have played either role. An actor I thought about for Mike was Dan Hamilton. He played a role on GL during the 60s, but enough time had passed that it shouldn't have been a problem. He usually played smarmy characters but it would have been cool if they had gone against typecasting.
