The truth is that Lisa should've gotten the Lois recast in the 2000s. I joked not long ago that I wouldn't blink if Olivia left one day, ran off with Johnny Zacchara (they were hot together) and came back as Lois a week later, but it's probably true. This show has done dumber casting in recent years.

LLC would have been a great recast and she already had an established rapport with Ted King. I love Rena, but her Lois, with that OTT style and Brooklyn accent, was perfect for the Labine era that often had a zaniness  about it. LLC would have been perfect for a darker, grittier Guza world, and I would have loved to have seen her instead of Lesli Kay, who is a strong actress but never really nailed the accent/character and sort of channeled Rena at times.

Susan Flannery (Stephanie B&B) as Falcon Crest's Angela Channing--or vice versa. They are alike except from I understand Angela is significantly more evil. Grand dame energy, ruthless women with a bitter streak.

Jane Wyman (born 1917) and Susan Flannery (born 1939) are of different generations, so that casting doesn't really work. Y&R's original messy wealthy matriarchs Dorothy Green (born 1920), Jeanne Cooper (born 1928), and K.T. Stevens (born 1919) were age-appropriate to be the matriarch on a 1980s primetime soap.

Cynthia Watros as Patty Williams Abbott in the 00s. Before the Mary Jane madness that is.

I thought Cynthia Watros should've been a Patty recast in 2013 instead of the new character Kelly which was a waste of her talent.

That was me and Cat Hickland was in fact my choice. It was because I dreamed it up in early 2003, when OLTL looked ready to dispose of both actors (who had chemistry).

God, I miss Roscoe Born.  That man oozed sex.

Agree.  If anything, I wish Miss Wyman had been around to play Ann Douglas.  No offense to Betty White OR her fans, but I think JW would have knocked it out of the park even further in scenes w/ Flannery.

I've said it before, I'll say it again (and again): I would bring Gina Tognoni onto GH in the previously-cursed role of Dr. Sarah Webber. She'd come with a ready-made family (a la the British soaps), a scheming husband and a secret. I'd pair her with Drew the WSB agent. It would play!

I completely agree Vee!

Are you sure we can't Jennifer Finnigan to play nuSarah instead?

I watched an old mid-2000s ep of Y&R in which it looked like he and CLB were eye-fùcking each other. He did have that vibe.

I'll never forget his first run as Mitch Laurence on OLTL.  Mitch was probably the most venal character, male or female, ever to appear on a soap.  I mean, there was absolutely nothing redeeming about him from the get-go.  Yet, with Born in the role, Mitch was also the sexiest irredeemable villain, and the most thrilling to watch.  Born, as Mitch, made being an evil s.o.b. look like so much fun; and his chemistry w/ Andrea Evans' Tina was SO scorching that I think some writer (Michael Logan?) said it was the closest soaps ever came to being like an X-rated movie.

To this day, I recall a scene where the two had sex on a bed covered with money, and the thing is...?  I'm not sure that even happened, but it's something I can see so clearly in my mind's eye that I'd be surprised if it didn't.

I could see Katherine Kelly Lang as Nikki on Y&R

This is a stretch but Robin Mattson (Heather, GH; Janet AMC) as Sheila Carter.

She's doing Steven Soderbergh stuff, among other things. She won't be back.

Julia Barr is waaay to old for Sarah Horton.   Do you mean Sandy Horton?  or Marie Horton?

How about Julia Barr as Jessica Blake Fallon?

Doug was only 7 years older than Jeanne and she presented older onscreen in the 70's and 80's so I can't see it.
