I liked Rafe in the beginning with Sami when they were in the safehouse.   I thought him and Christie Clark had okay chemistry too even though that pairing is universally reviled.

Those polls are crazy.  I remember the days when Liz/Jason would win all the GH couple polls and they weren't anywhere near a couple and Jasam would be second lol.

Rafe is here because someone thought Luis from Passions tested well with focus groups at NBC. That's it! He is a charisma void and even his initial story was a weak tea riff on Marlena and Roman and frankly beneath Sami's heights up to that point IMO.

He did have more chemistry with CC but people freaked out about that. He should've been fired years ago.

Doesn't half of Salem live at the Inn? Why can't Shawn and Belle live at Bo's and Hopes home? I know Days has a crappy budget, but see one living room set and change it to reflect multiple characters home, other than them always at the Salem Inn.

Soap Opera Digest still exist!!?? Who actually buys that magazine, probably someone's grandma lol

Belle and Shawn do live in Hope's house.  The last time they showed it was around Ciara's wedding to Theo I think. Xander, Gwen, and possibly Brady live at the Inn, which is ridiculous especially for two cash strapped people like Xander/Gwen.  A lot of people were living at Jarlena's townhouse in the summer-Sami, EJ, Brady, Susan, Claire.

Its Kate, she should win worst mother of the century award! Remember back in the 1990's, how she would interfere with Austin and Billie and their relationships with Carrie and Bo.

Honestly, I am not shocked her kids are messed up! I wish they would write a story about her kids turning their backs on her, going to therapy and blaming her for everything.

Aw, I don't watch the show everyday. It just seems the bedroom everyone always in, even in the Dimera house looks all the same, small and a typical NYC hotel room lol. Also, always ugly wallpaper!

I remember when Galen almost became Nick Newman on YR when Josh Morrow walked for a bit. That would have been bad casting

No worries.  Hope only has a living room anyway.  You aren't wrong about all the bedrooms looking the same.

John/Marlena's bedroom is the only bedroom set that looked significantly different from the boxy rooms, but I haven't seen that room since their wedding in 2018? 19?

Ciara/Ben live in one room, so I hope they are planning to upgrade for the devil baby

When all this is over and Chloe dumps Phillip for good and Sami dumps Lucas ....I want Philip and Lucas to get drunk and sing as a duo..."I can't make you love me" as Kate watches.

They showed Marlena’s bedroom when she was levitating again and wearing the sunglasses in the house.

it’s still nuts to me we were totally rid of Rafe and they just up and brought him back.

Having Kate kidnap Chloe and Sami so her sons could forget about them would have made more sense.

Ron always does this - reveals a 'good' character to be some sort of sinister nut or pious hypocrite, and thinks that balances scales with the audience.

Agree.  Many writers like to throw these kinds of curveballs at us, don't they?  Even if Lucas being Sami's abductor is supposed to be a Twist You Never Saw Coming, we should be able to go back, look at what led us to that revelation, and see how it was all logical and inevitable.  But I don't see that here.  I just see another sorry-ass HW tryna surprise the audience without giving logic a second thought.

God, I hate these damn shows.

And the Chloe/Brady/Philip mess should end with Philip dead (or 'dead'), Chloe unable to remember what happened, Brady taking the rap, and Kate being revealed as the surprise murderer (or 'murderer,' since it's very possible either Victor or Vivian, or Victor AND Vivian, could sneak Philip off somewhere to heal from his wounds and get psychological help).

Did his fans send Ken Corday a new set of golf clubs or something?

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
