Oh man. What a tragic year for soap stars. [!@#$%^&*]. Loved her. She was miscast as Donna but damn did she own Renee DiMera. What a mistake to kill her. A part of me appreciates she was never resurrected but damn would have been great to have her back.

RIP Philece Sampler. Sigh.

Please add DAYS to the topic title since Renee was her definitive soap role.

Nelson Aspen (how cool that they were friends) wrote a great tribute to her.

She has left us far too early. The first (and best) DiMera to come to Salem, it is a crying shame she was never brought back to head the family. Rest in peace Philece Sampler and thank you for Renee Dumonde.

Wow so sorry to hear of her passing! 67 is too young. I loved what I saw of her as Renee on Days. I didn’t mind her as Donna when first watching SoapNet reruns it’s too bad she never had another daytime role in the 90s or come back on Days.

Philece rocked that scene so hard that Days tried to do it again three years later with Emma and Alex. Jane Windsor played a great bitch, but that scene paled in comparison to this one.

Renee was about three different characters during her span. You could have gotten another decade out of her, easy, just feuding with Anna.

I saw that Philece was trending, in large part thanks to fans of shows like Digimon. Even as soaps dumped veteran actors as yesterday's news, that community seems to respect their elders. One is on its last days and one is still thriving - there's a lesson to be found here.

I feel like most of what I have said about Philece involves her AW work, because that's most of what I have seen, but her work (what I have seen) on DAYS was excellent. I can understand why she was so well-regarded by many fans. Her last "telling off" scene she plays beautifully, especially her moments of pain and heartbreak.

    • In theory, a Hidden Passions mini-series would be fantastic, wouldn't it?
    • Awe, thank you @DemetriKane! I so appreciate it. She really is; she's a strong principal guest, and I cannot wait to see what this next year has in store for her.
    • @Liberty City I look forward to your write ups everyday.

And I couldn't be happier, I loved her from the beginning. She's a great addition to the cast.   Same. The only one I truly like and root for is Nicole.
    • Mona... quit being a 'pick me'.  You're nothing to the Duprees except the help.  Now when you find out what Silk Press Sheila did to Laura than you can go off on her... until then.. stay quiet. I prefer the Joey/Vanessa scenes because they aren't the Duprees. Am I supposed to root for the Duprees?  I don't tend to root for, nor sympathize with those that come from privilege.  I'll always root for the underdog.
    • Sheila in that Bill/Liam scene was utterly pointless and ruined the moment completely. Bell needs to cut his losses with KB, he clearly has NO idea what to do with Sheila    LMFAO
    • I liked that realism, too.  (DanaLeslie/Lulu/whoever  is still shifty enough to have paid someone to learn those details over the years, though)

date: Monday, May 12 | Sara A. Bibel, Jazmen Darnell Brown | Anthony Pascarelli Teddy Boy. Teddy Bear. DEADBEAT! Now we know where Deadbeat gets it from. Vanessa in a random two-second spotting with Deadbeat? Oh, okay then! Dana is selling herself to Nicole right now. Oh, look who it is... Anita showing up to support Dani in her demure confrontation with Deadbeat2. Mona is not playing with Eva; from "backstabbing heifer" to "girl bye", she is not playing with her. At all. Joey is fully playing Vanessa, and she's so easily falling for it. C'mon, honey, don't do that. Shanice is going to be a comfort board for Douglas when he takes her advice and helps him heal himself. Mona going off on Dana just like she deserves. Mama Dupree went off: "Handle your business!" Could Eva and Randy be potentially paired for a one-night stand? That could be an interesting twist. Damn Mona with the continued burns, this time for Dana: "Hell was made for people like you, Leslie. Enjoy the burn." Anita questioning her own decisions and instincts feels really natural and real. It's a nice change of pace from the other matriarchs we've seen established in American daytime. Now the true Dana/Ted scenes are coming out. Anita warning Eva that she'll never be a part of the Dupree family shows the claws are fully out. Teddy fully calling Dana "demented" and "psychotic" is going to cause some problems, won't it? Notes: I fully need Maurice Johnson (Ted) gone yesterday; his performances are just not selling to me. Love seeing Tamara Tunie (Anita) beginning to get her teeth into the meat of the scripts. It's about time. Karan Kendrick (Mona) delivered today!!! She's such a breath of fresh air.
    • Oh yeah Leslie is Sheila Carter levels of delulu    Damnit, Ambyr Michell you gutted me with that quivering lip
    • Damn, Anita doesn't play, that was pretty vicious.  I hope Eva gets her redemption.

I doubted the tests but i liked that htey had Nicole as a doctor mention that the test also had genetic markers that matched Teds that Leslie really wouldnt have been able to fake. I think most people thought the test only said 99.999% chance match but its more detailed than that
