Part of her is definitely only there for the check but I also think she is dried up acting wise. Its obvious this production regime has realized this as well which is why she isn't being written for as a lead anymore like she was when she first returned. Should've kept Tognoni but

Maybe I am going to be mean, but she screwed them over by leaving abruptly to take another role on another show, didn't do particularly well in that role, they got a really superior actress as a recast that did really good things acting-wise and was well-received by fans, and they STILL abruptly dumped said recast actress to hire back MS back at presumably a lot more money than she used to earn.
Even a humble actress would have gotten a bit cocky.
Why would she bother to make an effort? TPTB clearly sent the signal they wanted her regardless - without even having any plans to use her.

There is no need for Phyllis at this point and like so many others her romantic possibilities are limoted so it's just rehashing Phick with no real drama or stakes at hand.

MS is probably floundering and pissed due to the horrid writing and it's coming through onscreen.

Phyllis could leave town and even if Summer stayed they could write around her mother's absence for a fair while. Just don't put Summer in anything that would require Phyllis' physical presence.

Result - saving her salary to be spent elswhere and one less played out vet to write for.

Setting aside whether she is "dried up" or just currently bored with the admittedly uninteresting material she is given lately, she was phoning it in big time in today's scenes.

And I'd be the first one to tell you the writing around Sally (whom I like) is weird and the dialogue in today's scene was really bad in the script itself. But still she was giving it nothing.

    • Hahaha!!! Not Naomi being sure Chelesa ain't filming this time!!!   At last! Kat is proven right!!!   And hey, Nicole's Doctor friend, hey!!!   So far...this is giving.
    • Leslie having the nerve to show up at the Dupree House was pure insanity. Bill being revealed to be more ruthless than anyone would have thought was a good development. I have to imagine that will change Dani's view of wanting him back. The whole reveal was well done and Trisha Mann-Grant owned those scenes. That was most definitely material for an Emmy submission reel.
    • I agree, all the Guys Tux were nice. I like how they differ from each other and all stylish in a way. Awe, same. Can not believe I actually have enjoying a current daytime soap. Rewatching these episodes over the weekend as a jump back into Ryan's Hope and Santa Barbara. Agreed! Exciting times.

And it was pretty dope we didn't know that tidbit before the reveal.
    • yes I thought of the Renee party... But this is different because I'm talking specifically about the revealer convincing someone else to throw the party.  And the someone else complies, having no idea what the revealer plans. I'm wondering if Michele Val Jean did a first with BTG in 2025. But the BTG thread is already so busy -- that I thought it important to *NOT* clog it up with discussing this, so I brought the question here instead. That way, if other reveals come up in conversation, it's not a problem on this "general retro soap" thread.
    • Well, good that they showed Vanessa though I wish she was there.   Lol. And here comes Naomi. AND an explanation from Jacob.

She is diabolical! Remember in this scene she offered Martin a brownie which seemed so random? In this episode its revealed that when he was a kid, Ted used to bring him to a restaurant where the waitress would give him brownies....that waitress was Leslie. She was playing games and trying to jog his childhood memory
    • Yay!!!!!! And made it ON TIME, TOO!!!   And this is giving DAYS reveals circa late 90s already.
    • Bish what? I was not expecting that, I was for sure expecting him to go after Nicole (He still can). Looks like Leslie put her out! I love these new developments, Eva Dorian Lording her way into Fairmont Crest. My good sis better trap that doctor.
    • It should be in its synopsis on the DVR description of the show.
