Well, she can recite her lines, but I wouldn't call her an actress... I'd be curious to know who else auditioned.

Damm.  And correct.

She actually reads to me as the sort of bit player Y&R was known for. Nondescript, not very interesting in looks or inflection, just there to impart some plot point.

I just read about the storyline she'll be appearing in, and as an infrequent Y&R viewer, I have to ask: why does the show give so much airtime and story to Chelsea?

 

There are characters where we'd really care if they had a stroke and were paralyzed, and that would impact a lot of the canvas. I mean, think if they gave that story to Victoria or to Phyllis or even to Chloe. But with Chelsea, I don't know what viewers will care, apart from the Chelsea/Adam fanbase.

I only know her as recast Vickie Gioberti on Falcon Crest.

 

Oh and now I see she also played the ill-fated wife of DoorMatt's bisexual sleaze boyfriend that he was accused of murdering on Melrose Place. She barely made her mark there despite being in the fabulous third season for a few episodes and involved with one of the cliffhangers.

Didn't care for her on Passions and she was a horrible Vicki recast on Falcon Crest.

She's so ... sigh

I didn't mind her on Passions but I admit I didn't realize how mediocre she was until I rewatched some episodes...

I wish at least Kim Ulrich had a guest stint on the show. 

Dana Sparks is pretty enough, but there's never anything going on behind the eyes, if you know what I mean.

Yeah.  Plus, knowing how TPTB work, they'd just bring back MCE down the road as Chelsea's long-lost twin, Soho.
