Lol this story just doesn’t work at all.

And I like Carter, but how in the world does he go from the Forrester corporate attorney to being the COO? I suppose this sets up a battle with

but comes off as very contrived and silly.

The promotion itself made little sense but since it means some airtime for Carter I’m fine with it. Especially if we get a much deserved Liam and Hope break.

The 2nd wedding to Shauna is also silly.
Ridge is the most reluctant groom and a man in his position would simply annul the marriage. Any feelings he develops for her will be null and void when he finds out she manipulated him. I’m all for him moving on from the nasally whining Logan but not this way. I want him to be fully in love with another!

I think the entire storyline is a mess.

Ridge has to act like a complete idiot to even agree to another ceremony. Who does that? It’s just ridiculous. Every scene this week was stupid, just building up to Katie overhearing ANOTHER FaceTime conversation between Quinn and Shauna.

And weren’t those talks stupid, too? Quinn would call her on the phone, not do some FaceTime with her. Brooke acts perplexed, which also dumbs down her character to nothing...Shauna is embarrassingly desperate...Quinn does nothing but try to wreck Brooke’s life while standing by the mantle...Eric walks in like a doddering old fool who’s lost...and Ridge stands there speechless and lets things happen to him.

i’d rather have spent the entire week on Steffy.

Katie Big Mouth strikes again!

I'm liking the show, but I think things are moving too fast. There's almost no time to invest in any of the storylines because the moment you do, the show moves on. It sort of reminds me of how ATWT was in its final years.

Agreed

To me, last Friday‘s and this Friday’s episodes showcase how wildly B&B can swing from engrossing (if rushed) drama (Steffy’s meltdown with Ridge and the Logans) to absolute throw-your-TV-out-the-window nonsense (the Quinn/Shauna stupidity). I don’t think any other soap has such variance in quality. Yesterday was just insultingly bad.

That scene was so dumb. How was Katie lurking with Quinn having no idea she was there? Then to keep blabbing the secret over the awkward face time calls made no sense.
Personally, I think Katie should keep her trap shut so Brooke can cry her little eyes out. As many times as Brooke has screwed Katie over, it’s time Katie got a little revenge.

Reading recaps - probably time for more rehash - the last full episode I saw was the Thomas/Zoe wedding where they busted him.  Just from reading I would guess Ridge will go to the alter and then bust Shauna and Quinn there.

The way they handled Shauna and Ridge is not only boring, but they trashed her character for nothing. When you look at the iconic schemes of Sheila, Morgan, Amber and evening Quinn...how did they manage to make this so boring?! B&B used to do vixens so well!

    • If Sally Field had been more generous about the writing I would say that her assessment is really very fair. I found Soapdish very funny. The cast is great. Delirious with John Candy and Mariel Hemingway (and Emma Samms!) came out the same year and I had expected to prefer Delirious, but Soapdish is one that I can watch repeatedly.
    • I love SOAPDISH but I think TOOTSIE is better. Generally I am quite fond of gender-benders. VICTOR, VICTORIA, most favorite.
    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.  But, on GL, an older GA/Philip is having sex with Olivia in a hotel room where Bruce Barry was directing & he & she both end up down to nothing but black underwear & at one point his bicep is covering her entire upper body so it appears that she is naked. I think they ended up on the floor between the bed & the wall. That was when I realized that Grant's body was better than Steve Burton's. (Olivia was cheating. Her husband Alan was in the hospital.) It is notable that I can speak with any insight AT ALL about these bodies since that is not the team I play for! LOL
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
